I went to see Dr. Koss because of the good reviews, unfortunately I was disappointed with my experience with Dr. Koss. His diagnosis was that I have a torn meniscus and he just basically told me that he recommend surgery without elaborating on my symptoms. I felt surgery was premature and I declined. Nine months later my knee is 95% better without surgery, So I felt he didn’t have my best interest at hand. This just doesn’t apply to Dr. Koss, in general, when the first word is surgery always use caution.

Dr Koss performed shoulder replacement with perfection - Dr Koss before surgery explained how my shoulder was bone on bone therefore very painful. Also explained how my shoulder replacement would benefit and it did. After being in horrific pain for many years, Iam now able to sleep and enjoy daily chores.

Dr. Koss was wonderful from start to finish in this procedure of knee replacement. He made me feel totally comfortable with his explanations before the surgery. His visit after the surgery and the next day were very reassuring. It has been a year since the surgery and I am proud to say I have ridden my bicycle 1000 miles since the surgerey.

I went to him for a second opinion. I would not recomend this Dr to anyone. He is all about the $ and not honoring his oath to do no harm. I would not even give him 1 star but site needs.

much better than I had expected - This orthopedic group has been excellent. If by provider is meant health care group, at this point everything has been covered. It's early to tell that all has been paid for by my health care plan, but it appears to have been comprehensive.

After 2 years of shoulder pain I decided that I couldn't live like this. Dr. Koss was recommended to me by one of my relatives. After the MRI, Dr. Koss stated I had a torn rotator cuff and that I would need a reverse TSR surgery. There was very little pain after the surgery. His staff answered any questions/concerns I may have had. I am so glad I did this surgery and would recommend Dr. Koss.

Dr Koss replaced my right knee years ago, so when I started having pain in my left knee, I went to see him. He diagnosed a torn meniscus and recommended surgery. I came to the surgery center in Sparta and had amazing care. I have problem veins and when I described the issues, the nurse putting in the IV listened - adjusted her plan and got it in the first time. They have a heater system that plugs into your gown - keeping you warm and toasty. They used it in surgery and post-op and I never got that shocky feeling I usually have being so cold, especially following surgery. Dr Koss told me I would be able to walk out after surgery and he was right. Course I was on pain meds and after they wore off, the swelling needed icing and meds to be comfortable. But a week post-op, I'm walking more freely and am improving daily. I got my summer back thanks to Dr Koss. He listens, he's responsive and he cares about your progress.

Dr Koss is personable and very approachable. He explains every step of the procedure and recovery process. He spends the time and answers every question. My knee replacement and recovery went exactly as he explained. I was apprehensive about doing it, but so glad I chose Dr Koss. Full recovery and so glad I finally had it done!

Dr. Koss is an outstanding surgeon with great bedside manner! He explained everything before the surgery so I felt comfortable the entire time. His follow-up was perfect. He is easy to talk to and answered all my questions. I highly recommend him to anyone needing knee surgery.

In January I had an injury that resulted in a fully broken collar bone. Luckily I was able to get surgery a week after the break with Dr. Koss. He was very friendly when we met before the operation and was very clear with what my recovery would look like. Surgery went as good as it could go, I was only in pain for a few days after the operation. A little over a month I was out of a sling and regained almost full mobility. I never needed physical therapy which amazed me. After a few months I regained my full range of motion and experience no pain or discomfort whatsoever. I feel extremely grateful that my surgery was done by Dr. Koss because he and the team he worked with did an amazing job! If you find yourself needing similar surgery, definitely go with Dr. Koss!

I underwent surgery in December for a torn rotator cuff. Surgery was painless. Never really had any pain outside of atrophied muscles from wearing a sling for 6 weeks. Friendly people. Dr. Koss is a great guy.

I cannot say enough about Dr Koss and his staff, They are all professional, kind, helpful in answering all questions, Every visit was a pleasant experience. Dr Koss is a great surgeon and did a great job on my rotator cuff. Total Knee Replacement: From first visit to last Dr. Koss was very professional, informative, reassuring and helpful. Spent time to answer all questions and concerns. I am extremely happy with the results. 3 1/2 months after surgery, all goals are met - walking 3 miles, bowling well, and PAIN FREE ! Frankly, the only post-surgery pain was the range of motion PT activities, and occasional brief pain jabs with certain moves and these were gone after 3 months.

Hey there... Back in 1996/97 I fell and thought I just broke my leg. I had a visit with Dr. Koss and he explained my injuries were far more complicated. I can't remember all that was done, but I know it was extensive. Rehabilitation was grueling ,but it all payed off. 24 years later... my knee is still going strong. it is only in the last 2 years I have been in some pain due to arthritis. Kudos to Dr. Koss . He is an excellent and caring physician and surgeon

my knee operation was on 6/8/21 which consisted of a repair to my right torn miniscus.Specialty surgery center on lafayette rd is where the procedure was performed and dr.koss was the surgeon.I highly commend him,his team and center for an outstanding performance that day.Every step for my operation was orchestrated like a symphony preparing for months.His nursing staff reminded me of angels without wings because of their dedication to their profession.To name a few and a thank you,Denise,Jennifer,Maryann RN Lara MA, all pre-op.Recovery....Brielle RN, stage ll discharges Sue RN /Amanda MA.I wouldnt change a thing if i had to do it again. Dr Koss performed rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. The outcome was excellent. Dr Koss and his entire staff are very friendly and professional. I strongly recommend him.

After quite a bit of pain and being unable to perform simple tasks around my home, I made the correct decision to have Dr. Koss perform surgery on my torn rotator cuff. After having just completed several months of physical therapy, I'm so pleased to have my shoulder back in great shape. Dr. Koss is an excellent surgeon, with a pleasant, calm manner. He answers all questions and takes the time to explain all procedures. He has my highest recommendation. We're so fortunate to have The Orthopedic Institute with its superior surgeons, professional staff, and excellent surgical center right here in Sussex County.

Dr. Koss operated on my ACL and did reconstructive surgery with a graph. I had a triad ligament tare which is the ACL, MCL and Meniscus from a skiing accident. He was able to explain what happened and what options I had. I decided on surgery which went very well. He is an excellent surgent and answers any questions you have. I never felt rushed or ignored when I asked questions. I am now out of physical therapy and working out in a gym going towards full recovery and being able to ski or do any sports I want. I am 55 so this truly great for me as I am very active person. Thanks Dr. Koss!

Dr. Koss is an excellent Doctor

First appointment went well. I knew going in that I needed surgery. Dr. Koss explained what the issue was with my knee and explained what the surgery would entail. Went back today for my post op and I am very pleased with my progress.

Dr. Koss is a Great Doctor. After a year of suffering with shoulder Pain I saw him. He new right away how to treat me and I am now feeling SO MUCH BETTER! He listens and answered all my questions without rushing out the door like many other doctors. HE CARES!!!

Dr. Koss did my knee replacement. He explained the procedure and answered any questions I had. He was very honest about what to expect after the surgery. I would recommend him to anyone who needs this surgery. If I should need it for my other knee in the future, I will definitely go to Dr. Koss to do it.

He did my total knee replacement. I complained of no relief continually. He kept saying it tales at least a year. After a year I was able to go elsewhere for two other opinions. Both orthopedic surgeons said the wrong size insert was used and I need a complete revision surgery. Dr. Koss never even suggested that was the issue. Of course the wrong part shouldn’t have been used but I also shouldn’t have been poopooed for a year.

He did my total knee replacement. After his ignoring my complaints for a year, I saw two other surgeons. I learned Koss used the wrong size parts and I require complete revision surgery. Not only did he do it wrong but he poopooed my pain for a year. I am not a fan.

Dr. Koss was excellent! Office staff is so friendly and helpful. Surgical staff was fantastic. I had put off my shoulder surgery for years and totally regret it. I am 10 weeks post surgery and have full use of my shoulder again, what a great feeling. From my first appointment to my last, totally satisfied everytime.

My experience was great. My TKR went well, During follow-up he answered all my questions and took the time to explain and review my concerns.

I was referred to Dr. Koss by a surgeon I work with for a second opinion for a failed rotator cuff laparoscopic repair. I found Dr. Koss to be knowledgeable about all options available to address my problem. The options were carefully explained and outcomes explored. I chose to have a reverse shoulder replacement performed. The technical ability of Dr. Koss is well above average. The office staff s knowledgeable, professional and accommodating (especially during the current Covid-19 pandemic). The surgery was a complete success with no complications, minimal pain and the follow up uneventful. The medical care by Dr. Koss, his staff and the medical care at Morristown under his direction was excellent. I would unhesitatingly recommend Dr. Koss for orthopaedic care .

I am a 31 year old mom of two who has been a patient of Dr. Koss for 16 years. He did surgery on both my knees back when I was 16 and now again in my 30's. He made such an impact in my life with his care that I decided to go into the medical field myself. When you have an appointment with Dr Koss he always gives you as much time as you need. He explains things in a way that is understandable and he intention is to know you understand. His bedside manner is calming and he always puts my mind at ease. He is very talented in his field. I know this to be true from second opinions. Other doctors wanted to give me knee replacements while Dr koss was more conservative and all about saving what was left of my knees. I will always be grateful to Dr. Koss for he gave me a second chance at life. I recently just had a tibial tubercle transfer with MFPL reconstruction. Look no further you have found the best one I can assure you!!

Dr. Koss solved two huge issues for me. He diagnosed a torn meniscus and performed an amazing repair that has given me a new lease on life. He also realized that the huge mass inside my thigh was a liposarcoma and immediately referred me to his friend and fellow surgeon who successfully removed the awful tumor. Dr. Koss is professional and humble and amazing. I should point out that the one-star review on this page was obviously an error in terms of clicking on the right number of stars because the description indicates only positive feedback. I had previously seen Dr. Koss due to shoulder issues, which he was able to correct non-surgically. However, after suffering with a torn meniscus in my knee for 9 months, I decided to take his recommendation for arthroscopic surgical repair. So glad I did. I just completed the most pain-free surgery I've ever had and am already walking easily without meniscus pain. Dr. Koss should be at the top of everyone's list for orthopedic advice and surgery. I was well taken care of in all aspects of treatment - from his office staff to the surgical center - and am grateful for such incredible care.

My son tore his labrum. After visiting two other surgeons and not feeling comfortable with them, Dr. Koss was recommenced to us my the school trainer. So thankful he did! My teenage son had a very serious shoulder injury from a bad fall. He is a passionate golfer so this was devastating for him. I broke my collarbone pretty badly and at first I was told that I was on the borderline of getting surgery. But then I saw Dr. Koss and he explained everything to me and how I will most likely need surgery. Oh course I was nervous because I've never had to get surgery before but I can't tell you the professionalism of Dr. Koss and the entire staff at the Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey. They provided the best care pre and post surgery. They made me feel at ease and Dr. Koss was great at explaining everything and what to expect. I'm now 2 months after surgery and I feel great! My collarbone has been healing up nicely where I've been able to start working out again. Even the surgery scar was minimal and barely noticeable. To note, if you're worried about the scar, use a silicone strip about a month after surgery, it will help even more. But seriously, Dr. Koss and all the staff and surgeons there are fantastic and can't recommend them enough. Thank you!

I chose Dr. Koss after seeing his reviews online and now it's my turn to rave about the Doctor! After a knee problem that would not heal, I had Dr. Koss inspect my knee and was impressed with the knowledge and skill he showed in diagnosing a torn meniscus. At the time of the procedure to repair the tear, the Dr. and his team explained the entire process; what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. Displaying his ability, the entire operation was performed quickly, and before long I was walking out with no pain. After this, a speedy recovery and back to work in less than a week! If I ever experience a condition like this again, Dr. Koss is the man I'll see! His entire staff is also the best, friendly and competent.

Dr. Koss did rotator cuff repair surgery, removed a calcium deposit and cleaned up some arthritis issues. Three months later I am out of physical therapy and better than before. He is always on time for appointments. He explains everything clearly. The staff is really efficient. Dr. Koss is an excellent surgeon and I would never consider going anywhere else.

I tore my ACL in my right knee playing basketball. I was 47 at the time and ran 15-20 miles a week in addition to coaching kids sports and working in the yard and around the home. So it was imperative for me that I get back to full functionality as soon as I could. After seeing another doctor first, I consulted with Dr. Koss (on the recommendation of my brother in law who had his meniscus done by Dr. Koss 20 years prior, still going strong). I immediately felt like he not only knew the procedure but also provided a no-pressure environment to consider my options. I elected surgery. After a few weeks of pre-op physical therapy I went into surgery in March. I missed 2 days of work, was hopping around in a brace at work the following week, and barely took any pain meds (mostly just ibuprofen and a regular icing regimen). I am now 7 months out from surgery and doing all that I want to (up to about 4 miles a week running now) with the help of my brace and 4 months of physical therapy.
