When I saw Dr. Mays, I had multiple autoimmune rashes that other doctors didn't know what to do. Dr. Mays was incredibly patient with me and did a thorough check up. He really helped my rashes and even thought about things outside of dermatology. Wow! What a great visit. Dr Mays is awesome. I saw Dr. Mays' name come up while reading another dermatologist's reviews. Apparently this patient was not happy with that dermatologist, but in their review, they mentioned that they had later visited Dr. Mays practice, and that he had been able to remedy the patient's ailment. I found this helpful, so I called to schedule a new patient appointment. The wait was going to be a few weeks, however, while I was making my appointment with Sylvia, she proactively informed me that they had just received a cancellation. My appointment therefore, turned out to be the next day. Dr Mays assessed my issues and patiently addressed them. He even took the time to print out information explaining my condition. He also gave me options and allowed me to choose the form of my medication. He even offered me coupons for my medication! While searching for a dermatologist I was told over the phone and in the New Patient portals, that their Dr's would only assess one concern per visit. That was not the case at Dr. Mays' practice. Went to see doctor May for skin rashes issue. The problem wasn't apparent during the visit, therefore the doctor asked me to send photos of the rashes when they appear. I did that as instructed when the rashes appeared several days later, and didn't receive any response from the doctor. Two follow-up emails were subsequently sent and a call was made, still no response from the doctor. Extremely disappointed by his lack of response and compassion! Do you want a dermatologist who is thorough and is focused on your skin & health and is not motivated by the "extras" and frills such as Botox, plastic & cosmetic surgery? Dr. Mays is the doctor for you. The office hosts several different specialites and isn't glitz & glamor, but I believe Dr. Mays is serious about his work and is still personable and caring. I think I finally found my go-to dermatologist. Quick visit for my acne appointment. He gave you a few words. Never mention much about whether or not I need to change my diet, skin care products, or so on. He took a look at my face then prescribed the water pills and tretinoin cream. I had Cigna with Texas children’s hospital. I called my insurance and verified the benefits. If Dr. Mays or his staffs have sometime to fax the pre-authorization form back to the Cigna, I only have to pay $10. I have reference call number for this guarantee price from Cigna. It took the doctor office 2 days to return my call with the response that “ Dr. Mays doesn’t do pre-auth form since it takes a lot of time that’s why he gave you the coupon”. Well, speechless! This Dr. is compassionate and knowledgeable. That means he has had successful results in my case and cares about me as a person. I have recommended him to friends and family and they have had good experiences as well.

I was referred to Dr. Mays by a friend. He's excellent! He was very compassionate to my concerns and very knowledgeable. I will definitely go back to him and refer him. Also, the office is great. Dr. Steven Mays is very patient, empathetic, and gives you all the time you need. He's been wonderful with my son, who has special needs. Dr. Mays takes the time to talk with my son. We have become a team, working together to get my son's situation healed. He doesn't make you feel stupid for asking question after question. Dr. Mays, also, has an incredible office staff who will help in any way possible to make things go smoothly! He has more than one location. Dr. Mays was outstanding. Very personable and spent a lot of time looking for bad cells. In fact, he found one that turned out to be Melanoma. However, because he found it early, and got it removed, I have had no side effects...
