Thank you, Dr. Zeilcof! If you are thinking twice about having a procedure done, just do it with Dr. Zelicof. I can't say enough good things about him. An outstanding surgeon that performed double-knee surgery on my mom 4 days apart. She was walking within the same week. My mother had put off surgery at least 10-15 years. She's in excellent shape but had bad knees. It was by chance, I met a woman at an art show that recommended Dr. Zelicof. My mother met him and switched immediately. If my testimonial isn't enough, you have to check for yourself. But, I promise you won't regret it. Great before and after patient care are a +. : )

Dr Zelicof is the best , I am pain free after 10 years of chronic hip pain . I would and do recommend Dr Z to anyone that has hip or knee issues . A few of my family members have gone to him before me and a few have gone after my surgeries .

I saw Dr. Zelicof for right knee pain. I initially liked him as he treated me with cortisone and gel shots. However, when the shots didn’t help he suggested arthroscopic surgery to remove my torn meniscus. The surgery made the condition much worse since I have arthritis and am now bone on bone. He was very arrogant when I spoke to him. I have followed up with several orthopedic surgeons who all say he never should have removed the meniscus. I now need total need replacement. Went to take my mom to see him on 12/7 and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. The front desk staff is horrible. They all need to be fired and replaced. My mother was in excruciating pain, had already spent 4 days in the hospital and we were told that Zelicof was great. We had the images on a disc from all the MRIs and ultrasounds that had been done and had an 11 am appointment. When we arrived, I explained what was going on with my mom and asked if they had a room where she could lie down since that’s the only way she can numb some of the pain. The response I received was “did you finish the paperwork”? I ended up having to put my mom back in the car so she could lay down. 2 hours later is when they finally called us in. What’s the point of making an appointment if we still have to wait that long? I get my mother from the car, and bring her back inside and we are told that she must get yet another x-ray. After the x-ray, the only competent worker in the entire place, finally took my mom into a room and she was able to lay down. Once we were in the room, the student working with the doctor came in and asked for the explanation of what was going on. My mother repeated three times that we had the images from the hospital and she stressed it to them so that they could look at them and compare. When the doctor finally walked in the room, he spent no more than five minutes speaking to my mom. He only looked at the x-ray that they took at the office and never bothered looking at the images on the disk which were much more detailed. He simply told my mom that she probably has a hernia and she should go back to her primary care physician. It was a total waste of time to see this doctor and he did not help at all. He did not seem like he wanted to help or that he was interested in looking at my mom as a patient. The next day, we went back to her primary care doctor and along with other surgeons, they looked at the images again and said she does not have a hernia and the issue is with her hip. Before my dad got his knee replaced by Dr.Zelicof, this past Friday, he had walked super slow and with a terrible limp for over 6+ years, and lo and behold thanks to Dr. Zelicof and his team, my dad can keep up with my athletic self now!! Haven't seen him limp since the moment he took his very first steps with his new knee!!!!! Thanks again so SO much, Dr. Zelicof and team!!! Dr Zelicof is great!. Very professional and very caring as his entire staff. He made sure I had the proper clearances from my other doctors as I have other medical conditions. He took the time to speak personally to one of my doctors concerning my medications. Courtney his PA also made sure that all of my questions were answered. I was concerned about going to Montefiore New Rochelle due to the hospital just opening due to COVID - my whole experience there was great. From the moment I walked in the door alone I was put at ease - his staff there is also caring and dedicated and I could not have asked for more I would highly recommend Dr Zelicof to anyone who needs an orthopedic surgeon Dr Zelicof is great!. This is my second time with Dr. Zelicof. The first was an emergency hip replacement. The last was a total knee replacement. Both surgeries were a huge success. Dr. Zelicof and staff are the best. In September of 2019 Dr. Zelicof did a partial knee replacement on my left knee. Everything went great. I was walking my neighborhood unassisted in 3 days. I never experienced any pain. Almost a year later, my knee feels fantastic. Then in July 2020 I found myself in Dr. Zelicof’s office once again. This time I needed a total knee replacement on my other knee. I had no hesitation about Dr. Zelicof doing another surgery. Again everything went great. I am now 6 weeks post op and I’m doing great. Again not in any pain. Dr.Zelicof is an excellent surgeon! I am not surprised that so many doctors and nurses highly recommend him. Dr. Zelicof preformed my Total Knee Replacement at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and I am recovering quickly with minimal pain. Dr.Zelicof is compassionate and I highly recommend him.

Dr.Steven Zelicof is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. He performed a right total knee replacement on me on June 24 ,2020 in Westchester Medical Center. The knee replacement was complicated since I broke my right femur at the point of knee. I was referred to Dr Zelicof by Dr Asprinio a trauma surgeon at WMC. From April of 2018 I was under the care of Dr Zelicof.He took excellent care of me from that point on. He explained everything to me in a very open way. He is very thorough and insightful. This was a complicated knee replacement and he wanted to do the surgery when he thought the femur wouldn’t break again during surgery... The surgery was a success and I am so grateful and thankful to him. During one of the follow up visits for the knee I told him about symptoms that I was experiencing with the hip. After X-rays were taken he told me I had broken my hip. On September 23 , 2020 he did hip replacement surgery’ at Westchester Medical Center. That surgery also was a success and I’m on the road to recovery with the knee and hip. His team is super especially Courtney, Nanette and Sandra. I have nothing by high praise to say about his team. I had a total knee replacement done Feb 28 by Dr. Zelicof he was on point with everything before and after the surgery it was a success and he gave me back my life thank u so much. In August of 2020 Dr. Zelicof did a bilateral knee replacement for me. Everything went great. I was walking around unassisted with a cane in 4 days. I have experienced minimal pain after my surgeries I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Zelicof and his staff. I am grateful and thankful for their support.

Dr. Zelicof performed simultaneous bilateral knee replacement in June 2020. Although initially planned on having each knee staged on a different day, because of CovId, Dr. Zelicof suggested I do them both at the same time. I was a bit nervous, but I had total confidence in Dr. Zelicof. Please understand that I've traveled the world. I'm a teacher and on my feet all day. My mobility is PRICELESS to me. When people ask why I had them both done at the same time, I answer, "I had complete trust in my doctor." It is a trust that is well-placed. Dr. Zelicof didn't try to push me into surgery. Dr. Zelicof is consistently responsive to all my questions and never fails to call me back or have his PA's or staff attend to my questions and follow up care. I recommend him without reservation. I need some follow up care with my left knee (inflammation) and he referred me to a top notch professional. He genuinely cares about his patients.If you need any work done on your knees / hips, HE IS THE ONE.

Before I went to Dr. Zelicof I could hardly walk and was in chronic pain for a while - until I had my first surgery in September and my second in October. My hips were far too gone and I had both hips replaced. Thanks to Dr. Zelicof I can walk a lot better now in such a short recovery time so far. The chronic pain has lesson tremendously. Dr. Zelicof made me feel comfortable with every visit and well aware every step of the way of the process. His professionalism and kindness to my questions, understanding of pain and wanting to make sure I got the best care possible will never go unnoticed. Everyone at the Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital made me feel at home and was wonderful. Lovely and informative staff. I never felt neglected by anyone there. I would recommend Dr. Zelicof to everyone.

Well Dr. Zelicof have been my doctor for over 10 years. I live in Long Island and I travel all the way to his office in Harrison NY because with him it's very easy to talk about your issue and he totally understand and he listens to you. He weighs all the options of treatment before the last resort would be surgery and that's very important to me. The day of my surgery when I saw him he reassured me that everything was going to be ok because he knew that I was scared and worried, he's very considerate and very caring and I'll recommend him to anyone who needs a good doctor. My surgery was at Montefiore Hospital and too be honest the staff there was wonderful starting from the nurses who saw me and got me prep to the staff who took care of me until I was discharged. My stay at the hospital was wonderful, just like Dr. Zelicof they were caring and just wanted to make me feel at ease after surgery oh and the food was very good never really like hospital food but I ate theirs it was good

I had a great surgery! I healed well and I'm gaining my strength back!

I was totally satisfied with the results of my hip replacement surgery. Dr Zelicof, maybe not the best conversationalist, but that was not what I was looking for. I came home from hospital after one day, able to do stairs and bathe independently. I no longer was in constant pain. I was able to drive after two weeks. I don't normally recommend doctors (too much could go wrong), but I would highly recommend Dr. Z and his wonderful, efficient staff.

Dr. Zelicof did a full bilateral knee replacement Sept, 21-25,2020 for me. I'm very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Zelicof and his staff from the office and New Rochelle Montefiore hospital surgery team and care after surgery was so caring and comforting. Excellent care. Then rehab @ Burke Hospital Rehabilitation Center entire staff was excellent. I'm home doing fine with out patient therapy. Yes ,I would recommend Dr. Zelicof in a heartbeat.

Dr. Zelicof is a miracle worker! I had total knee replacement nearly 4 weeks ago. I felt well enough to return home the next day. The best part-I had nearly full flexion and could climb stairs normally 2 weeks after surgery. I’m not a kid or super-athelete, but a 69 year old woman In average shape. I highly recommend him for his surgical skills, ability to communicate and bedside manner.

I will always be grateful to Dr. Zelicof for the hip replacement surgery he performed on my in August, 2020. His expertise and his staff at his Mamaroneck Office and at Montefiore-New Rochelle Hospital are highly to be recommended.

Truly excellent! Dr. Zelicof and his team both in the office and in the hospital in New Rochelle made me very comfortable, and I know that this has contributed to my continuing excellent recovery. I could not be more happy with the outcome of the surgery.

My experience with Dr Zelicof is wonderful. I had a THR. He is patient, doesn’t rush appointments, and takes the time to clearly explain the procedure/process. His office staff is equally attentive. There is little to no wait time for appointments and have always receivEd call backs from the office assistants and Physician Assistants promptly. The office is over an hour drive for me, but well worth drive.

Dr.Zelicof recently performed a bilateral total knee replacement for me. I’ve been extremely impressed with his service in all respects. I have complete confidence and trust in Dr. Zelicof.

Dr. Zelicoff is the best. Dr. Z performed arthroscopic knee surgery on my right knee and I feel great. I was walking on the knee the same day of the surgery and by day three I'm walking pain free. His team was outstanding from the office through the ambulatory experience. I also greatly appreciated when I first came to see Dr. Z that he didn't rush into surgery. We worked through more conservative approaches first and then when the last alternative was surgery we went in that direction. He's a caring physician with the patients health paramount and he is an excellent surgeon. I;m thrilled to have chosen him and highly recommend him and his staff at Specialty Orthopedics.

I highly recommend Dr. Zelicof and his staff. His office was very efficient and helpful. I had partial knee replacement surgery 3 weeks ago at Montefiore New Rochelle. The staff at Montefiore could not have been nicer. I choose Professional Physical Therapy in New Rochelle for my PT. I am getting great care there. Who would have thought that all of this great medical care is available right here in New Rochelle. I am out walking and riding my bike after only tree weeks. Thanks Dr. Zelicof

Dr. Zelicof and his team of professionals were all wonderful! I had a total hip replacement and I was guided through the process by both Dr. Zelicof, his office team, the team at Montifiore, New Rochelle and the in home PT care were all amazing. Knees are next!!

Dr Zelicof performed a staged bilateral knee replacement on July 7 and July 10 at Montefiore New Rochelle. It was a success. He is an excellent surgeon. Very grateful to have had him as my surgeon. Dr. Zelicof is the absolute best! He is a wonderfully skilled doctor - an expert surgeon, with compassion and superb interpersonal skills. He puts you at ease and attends to any/all of your concerns. I would highly reccomend Dr. Z. - I had hip replacement 3 weeks ago and feel great. Surgery was done @ Montifiore in New Rochelle where he has his own wing. Everyone from his office staff to his hospital staff was amazing and extremely professional and accomodating. The physical therapist in the hospital were wonderful. I had surgery at 8am and was up and walking @ 4pm, and doing a few stairs the next day, now that alone is amazing. My husband actually had both hips done in the past 2 years, and he feels great so I knew I would be in great hands. Thank you Dr Z, Courtney & all the staff. You have made my life pain free.......

Dr Zelicof may be great but it is impossible to get thru the phone line with anyone. You can only leave messages but no one responded. Very bad office system, they need to work on this.

I know, you hear New Rochelle Hospital and you think, "no way." But, Dr. Zelicof has his own dedicated staff, and suite, at the hospital, and the experience is perfect. I had been asking around for quite some time for recommendations for knee replacement surgeons, and Dr. Z was the name I heard most often, always in a positive light. People reassured me that the hospital would be great, and that the procedure would produce a very successful outcome. Dr. Zelicof takes every precaution before your surgery. There is pre-surgery PT to strengthen your leg muscles, there's required vitamins, there's a joint replacement class at the hospital, and there are a few hospital tests as well as your pre-op clearance from your PCP. Oh, and a required reading book! Recovery in the hospital is made comfortable by an amazing staff of nurses, aides, and techs. Rooms are private. Visitors are welcome. You are up and walking the same day, in most cases, and have PT twice a day during your stay. I am almost 4 weeks out, and today I was able to go up stairs normally, instead of one step at a time. Dr. Zelicof is an absolutely fantastic orthopedic surgeon. He replaced both of my hips in April this year due to chronic arthritis and I could not be more delighted with the result. It was such a relief to get rid of those painful hips! I would definitely recommend Dr. Zelicof to anyone needing knee or hip surgery. I had a TKR in my left knee 4 years ago and another TKR in my right knee this year (6/2019). Dr. Zelicof is an excellent orthopedic surgeon who performed both surgeries. His operating team, staff and physical therapist(s) at Montefiore New Rochelle are caring and attentive before, and after surgery in the doctor's recovery area. The total experience with Dr. Zelicof and his staff negate any waiting time one may experience in the office. I was recommended to Dr. Zelicof by a Brother Firefighter & a Police Officer that works in the same community, and both had excellent results. My hip was pretty much bone on bone when Dr. Zelicof did replacement surgery. My experience has been excellent from the people who work in his office, to his staff at Montefiore New Rochelle for my surgery. Everyone I have had contact with was completely professional and I wholeheartedly recommend this practice for all your Orthopedic needs. I had both knees replaced in September 2019, I must say after six months I’m able to power walk again. I found Dr Zeliof very professional and caring, I recommend him highly.

Had a total knee replacement on March 3, 2020. I had been suffering with my knees for quite some time, dreading the surgery and recovery. But once meeting Dr. Zelicof, I felt confident enough with him to go ahead with surgery. Everything went extremely well and I am recovering very well. He and his office are very professional and efficient. I am also very appreciative of the care I received at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital. Visits are always professionally handled by all staff members. Dr Zelicof is the best at what he does! From pre op through discharge after surgery the care is top notch.

Today had first post-op appt with Dr Zelicof after total knee replacement 3/6/20 with very positive tracking. Not only does Dr Zelicof attend to the physical side of getting me back to high level activities at 65 but emotionally gives me the state of mind that all is well with a relaxed attitude responding to my prepared questions. The staff was fabulous; never an issue. And there’s the portal for my remote questions as they arise.

I had a partial knee replacement performed by Dr.Zelicof 3 weeks ago. When I decided to have the surgery I was going to use another surgeon but wanted to get a second opinion. After meeting Dr. Zelicof I decided in that moment that he was my surgeon. He is not only expert in his field but he is compassionate and personable. In addition his entire staff is wonderful.

Great surgeon, but lousy office staff. Never returned calls, lost documents to be filled out for insurance.

I had left hip replacement with Dr. Zelicof and I highly recommend this surgeon for this procedure. The procedure was done at the New Rochelle Hospital and all the staff were very considerate.

Dr. Zelicof is not only a fantastic surgeon he is a kind and caring gentleman. He recently performed knee replacement surgery for me and his work is impeccable. My previous knee replacement surgery on my other knee took months for me to recover. Three weeks after Dr. Zelicof performed my surgery I was walking and driving. Anyone in need of replacement surgery must have Dr. Zelicof perform his or her surgery. He is excellent with a wonderful and caring staff.

Dr. Zelicof recently performed a Total Knee Replacement surgery on me, and 13 years ago a Total Knee and Hip Replacement surgery - I feel great! 11/12/19 Having know Dr Zelicoff both professionally and as a patient for more than 25 years, I can honestly say he is a brilliant and compassionate orthopedist. Since I was fortunate to have worked as a physical therapist and see the successful work he did with his patients, I chose him to do my left total knee replacement in October 2018 and in November 2019 my right total knee replacement. In addition, his office staff and physician assistant Courtney have added to the caring experience that has played a crucial part in my recovery. The nursing staff and physical therapists at Montefiore/New Rochelle were also very supportive and knowledgeable in my post-op care, exercises and having me walk right away. Last year I was able to do a bike trip in France and this year I am hoping to do a bike trip in Italy.

I had a staged double knee replacement with Dr. Zelicof about seven weeks ago. I am happy to say that I am doing great, walking without a cane, beginning to drive, and experiencing minimal pain, compared to what I had originally expected. I am completely satisfied with the work of Dr. Z and his amazing support staff. My life has already been revolutionized! I was also very pleased to discovered that the doctor was as compassionate during my follow-up visits and patiently listened to me and supported me during after-care. I think this is an important reflection of his professionalism and excellent practice. I recommend Dr. Z heartily and without reservation.

Dr. Zelicof recently performed Partial Double Knee Replacement surgery on me. Dr. Zelicof and his teams at his office and at the hospital were very professional and on top of my daily care. Everyone was involved. And having his own "Joint Solution" wing at the hospital, New Rochelle Montifiore was a plus.

Just had my second Hip replacement with Dr Zelicof. His stellar reputation is well deserved and his Assistant, Courtney, is a superstar. Every in the office is very pleasant as well. My surgery was at Montefiore in New Rochelle where the every single staff member was amazing - so warm and caring. My surgery was done at Westchester Medical Center, where the care and pain management were extremely good and I am returning to full time work next week.

Dr. Zelicof performed total hip replacement surgery on me and in less than 3 weeks i was walking nearly a mile without pain. This was far quicker and with less pain than i ever thought my recovery would be. Surgery for right hip replacement and visits prior and for follow-up

Dr. zelicof is caring, extremely professional, uses the very latest techniques. My knee replacement surgery went very well, recovery has been very quick, and pain level very manageable.

I visited Dr. Zelicof for some knee issues. I waited two hours for my appointment, and then I was surprised to be seen by a resident instead of Dr. Zelicof. He examined me and explained my options -- then Dr. Zelicof came in and saw me for less than a minute. Dr. Zelicof has a great reputation, and I thought that it was OK to wait for two hours to get the benefit of his care. However it was not OK to wait two hours and see him for less than a minute. In addition, Dr. Zelicof's office is run very badly. It's almost impossible to talk to anyone on the phone -- when I left a message I was not called back. To top it off, the last time I left a message, to have my xrays sent to me, I was cut off after a very short time. I will not be returning to this office.

Dr. Zelicof is great, this rating is for the office personnel that has failed big time! First the office did not give the right information for an MRI or submit the documents needed, I had to be persistent. Dr. Zelicof performed my total hip replacement and I was on my feet the same day, home the next day and back to work 9 days after the surgery. I could not have asked for a better surgeon and team.

I'm glad I took his advice. After my initial meeting with Dr. Zelicof, it was the first time I left an orthopedic Dr.'s office feeling confident. I could tell he knew what he was doing. Dr. Zelicof displayed knowledge, professionalism, patience, and confidence. I was relieved that I had finally found the Dr. I could have confidence in. Dr. Zelicof replaced my hip this past February. This may sound crazy, but it was a pleasant experience. Not only did he do a great job, his office staff is friendly and accommodating, his PA Courtney took all the time I needed to answer all of my questions prep me, and Cassandra was patient while we were scheduling all of the dates around my coaching schedule. I had a special medical case and Dr. Zelicof handled it excellently. I was diagnosed to need a left hip replacement as well as a right knee replacement. He had done it before as was very reassuring that it would work and then would get me rehabbed much faster and back to my active life than doing them separately and rehabbing separately. The surgery went very well and I was walking with a cane a day after the knee surgery and without a cane about 10 days after both surgeries. The hip one was done 3 days before the knee as the hip got a lot better in the 3 days so I recommend that. The service at the Montefiore New Rochelle hospital was wonderful, a floor that is mostly dedicated to the doctors patients. The staff was great and the PT people very helpful. I highly recommend using him. And the practice he is part of, Specialty Ortho in Harrison is great as I have used other doctors there. I had my first hip replacement done about 6 years ago by Dr. Steven Zelicof and just 5 weeks ago had the other one done by him. The entire experience could not have been better; Steven and his PA Courtney took the time to answer all my questions and concerns, both surgeries were completely successful, recoveries speedy and uneventful. My father had a hip replacement done by Dr. Zelicof on December 19, 2017 he had a great experience with the doctor and his staff. This was my fathers first surgery he was very nervous and did not know what to expect. He was up and about the next day without much pain he could not believe it he said it's a miracle. He is very grateful to Dr. Zelicof's for a wonderful experience and great results.
