I saw Dr. Reuben in the past. I was treated respectfully and attentively. I am grateful for the help and support she has provided me.

I sat in Dr Ruebens (Dr R) office for over a year explaining to you I am sad, I’m depressed, I’m anxious, and I have PTSD from falling four stories off my balcony, I’m sad my ex ghosted me in the hospital and is using drugs. I explained we had a toxic relationship. I have racing thoughts at night since 2018, Dr R prescribed me lamictal and abilify were ok- I explained numerous times how I’m still not eating, not sleeping, not drinking, racing thoughts at night from falling, yet my mood feels fine. I was on the maximum dosage for trazodone and that didn’t even work. I knew there was something more than just PTSD, depression, anxiety, and a mood disorder. I would sit in her and the therapist she would be working with in their office every week saying I slipped off my balcony, this is my fault, if I didn’t slip my ex-boyfriend wouldnt be using heroin. No one at that practice realized or was willing peel the layers of the onion of what was behind the closed doors; there was a drug addict bf, she said the relationship was toxic, and a girl who decided to slip off her balcony; in my opinion, doesn’t that scream some sort of domestic violence? Shouldn’t a licensed therapist and psychiatrist ask those type of questions? Like oh did you ever put his hands on you? what was his dynamic like? how did he treat you? Did the cops ever have to come? I feel like no one dug deeper into our relationship or what lead me into having a manic episode and contemplated suicide and so I accepted the fact that I was the problem, I was the one who deserved to be single/in a wheelchair because my ex what tell me it’s my fault I jumped on purpose. When I’m finally feeling good and off all psychiatric medications for three months, eventually I had a breakthrough at the end of December where I realized I was in to back to back psychologically abusive relationships for the past 7 years, so now I am easily triggered and have anxiety. However, I do feel clear minded about my opinion on life and my abusers, my therapists from talkspace has been working closely with me and is saying I’m making good progress but I’m just going through the emotions. I have a lot of anxiety and can’t sleep with racing thoughts. I was honestly appalled that Dr Ruben told me that one of the reasons why I’m acting like this “anxious” could be because of the change in medication. Even my therapist on talkspace, nurse who I want to see in the ER when I couldn’t get my anxiety meds from my psychiatric, my best friend who is nurse, they all said “if it was really a change in medication, you would’ve seen a change within a month not three months off of medication” The only thing Dr Rueben suggested just starting over on the 25mg of lamictal and 2mg of ability Which has nothing to do with complex PTSD. Do you ever think that because I had a life change, it triggered traumatic events in my head which made me cause anxiety? Dr. Rueben said if my anxiety was so bad to go to the hospital, ER or mental hospital. All I wanted was an emergency prescription for anxiety to hold me over until I see her next. I’m not a danger to myself, I’m not suicidal. It got to the point on Christmas I kept having anxiety attacks and no sleep, I took myself to the ER. I briefly explained what was happening and they gave me some Ativan at the hospital, and I believe they gave me emergency supply until I find a new dr. I can’t believe I had to go to the hospital just to fix my anxiety when my psychiatrist was perfectly capable. Dr Rueben said she couldn’t diagnose it over the phone and I sat in her office everyday saying I was fine. Bullshit.

I was a patient of hers a few years ago. At first things were fine. I was stabilized on medication and she continued to see me no problem. About a year into seeing her I started having hallucinations and delusions(which were scary bc i didnt know what was happening to me). Eventually I had to be hospitalized and as Soon As I was Hospitalized she said that the office could no longer provide the level of care I needed or some BS to that magnitude. At the time, i was in my own world of chaos and couldn't process it bc my mind was all over the place. Now,looking back, i dont even know if what she did was legal. But i do know that it was immoral and I would never do that to someone. Thankfully I have a great doctor now and im doing better navigating.
