Dr. Thomas Derek Kowalik

Dr. Kowalik is an excellent orthopedic surgeon! He did a total knee replacement one year ago for me. Now, this knee is pain- free and functioning fully. At every step or need, Dr. Kowalik and/or his medical assistant, Jamie, have helped me and answered my questions. I'll soon have my other knee replaced.

Fantastic Doctor! His staff is also top notch! He did a total hip replacement for me! Very knowledgeable in his field! I suggest him and his staff highly!!

Just had my second hip replacement in a year and a half by Dr. Kawolik,first one improved my life so much I had to get the other done. Dr. Tom is a great guy with a "let's get it fixed" attitude and has a lot of confidence,which to me is important. Probably going to fix a knee for me too.

This man suffers from the surgeon's malady, "Lack of compassion". Not a competent diagnostician either. Caveat emptor!

I can't believe someone would give Dr. Kowalik less than 5 stars. I have seen him FIVE times now over 2 years because I have arthritis in my knee. He is always willing to discuss treatment options and advantages and risks of each. For now I am living with the occasional injection in my knee but if I ever decide it's bad enough for a knee replacement, I will NOT hesitate to go to Dr. Kowalik for the surgery. I can't say enough good things about Dr Kowalik. Pre surgery, he was extremely thorough at making sure I was clear and prepared for what was going to happen and in putting my mind at rest about it all. The surgery itself was flawless and my recovery has been remarkably quick. Overall, a great experience for something I was originally somewhat fearful of.

A very good listener combined with excellent clinical skills. We never felt like he was rushing to see the next patient. I'd recommend him to another needing a hip or knee replacement.
