I was interested in neck and lower face lift. After doing a lot of research, I decided to book a consultation with Dr. Mustoe. After speaking with him I knew I had chosen the right doctor and felt both very excited and confident in my decision. He even made suggestions that I had never thought of like fat grafting around my mouth and laser resurfacing. After 10 days I could go back to work. I had little to no bruising and minimal post op pain. I am a little over a month out now and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I feel refreshed and younger than my 56 years. Dr. Mustoe exceeded my expectations and the results are beautiful and natural. Dr. Mustoe is an exceptional physician and artist. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering plastic surgery!

I had an unfortunate experience with Dr. Mustoe. He performed a septoplasty to correct my deviated septum. Following the surgery I had frequent and large bloody noses that didn't subside until ~ 2 weeks after despite being told I should have only minor bleeding. After swelling had gone down I still noticed I could not breathe properly. After explaining this to Dr. Mustoe in our post-op he not only did not believe me but was convinced I could breathe ~ 70% better and was rude in response. He offered me to come back 6 months from then to have another procedure at the same full price as the original one. 3 years later I am still suffering from terrible septum blockage. Having multiple other specialists look at my septum, they're perplexed that I had surgery at all as my septum is completely twisted and now I need a full reconstructive surgery. I would not recommend him to anybody.

I have had numerous surgeries for a number of things. But i can honestly say my experience with Dr Mustoe for my tummy tuck and Breast lift was by far the most positive. From his in-depth consultation to the surgery itself and the post op care, Dr Mustoe and his staff are some of the most attentive, professional, and caring I have encountered. Dr Mustoe is indeed an outstanding plastic surgeon with many years of experience and my results are amazing. I’m only 12 weeks out from my surgery and no one can believe how great I look. And the pain was truly minimal from my procedures. I only needed prescription pain meds for the first two days post op. He's a complete snob and does bad work. My sister went in for a rhinoplasty and her left nostril completely closed up. We've been asking him for help for two years and Dr. Mustoe remains indifferent, despite her new problems breathing. She's beginning to develop scar tissue and and abscess in her throat because of the on-going infections.

Dr. Mustoe is truly an outstanding plastic surgeon. Not only is he an exceptionally skilled surgeon, he also conducts his consultations with the utmost professionalism and candor. He is easy to speak with and forthright in discussing potential procedures and expected outcomes. My surgical procedure (lower face lift) was done perfectly and my recovery was amazingly smooth. I experienced very minimal discomfort following surgery & virtually NO pain (with no pain medication!) during the days following my procedure. Post-surgical swelling was minimal and I had no bruising. I am elated with my results that subtly shaved off about 10 years from my appearance without looking like I had “work” done! Choosing the best plastic surgeon for your procedure is crucial in order to achieve your best outcome. From my first hand experience, Dr. Mustoe is the best! Dr. Mustoe is a fantastic surgeon and his entire office staff is professional, friendly and go out of their way to make your experience run as smoothly as possible. No question is too small for them to answer and they are always happy to help out. Dr. Mustoe explained every step of my breast reduction procedure and completely understood my wanting to get rid of the extra skin in my abdomen due to a significant weight loss. I had tried for years to plank/crunch/run it off and it wasn't going anywhere. He always had time for my questions and never rushed me through appointments. He even provides a direct line to him after surgery for any potential problems that may arise. The results have been phenomenal. I no longer have daily back pain and could not be happier with how natural everything looks. Scarring is practically nonexistent. If I had known that a breast reduction could have made this type of change in the quality of my daily life, I would have done it years ago. Very disappointed.  In his quest for the natural look, I got zero result. Even Dr. Mustoe's nurse, during the procedure, was asking him if he shouldn't be doing more. Since it didn't work the first time, I was shocked at the suggestion that we repeat the procedure. Even more shocked that second attempts are at the same full price.  Which I was then told was very "modest."  I was also told he will never apologize for being conservative. That's nice, but apparently I'd be the one paying over and over again because he's conservative.  It's not "modest" pricing when you get absolutely no result and then have to pay the full price again for any other attempts. During the consultation, the term "meaningful difference" was mentioned repeatedly.  I guess there needs to be some clarification of "meaningful difference" and "I'll never apologize for being conservative." I would not recommend Dr. Mustoe to anyone. I went in for a rhinoplasty consultation today - My expectations were considerably high due to his somewhat good reviews and credentials. He was 1 hour late to the consultation, with no apology from him upon entering the room. His bedside manner was non-existent, he came off very uninterested, and he was very boastful about himself. Usually when a surgeon gets an appointment for a consultation they ask the patient what they are looking to achieve with the cosmetic procedure - I was never asked that. The appointment wasn’t personal at all. It was all about him and what he can do. The biggest slap in the face was when he pointed out that I needed neck lipo when looking at my 3D “before” images of my nose. I came in there for a rhinoplasty, to feel educated and to feel better about what I’m going into & what I’m looking to achieve. Instead, I left insecure, disrespected & uninterested. On to the next! I am sitting here the DAY OF surgery already impressed. Impressed isn't even the right word. Doesnt do justice. I thought my situation was hopeless (victim to a previous doctors botch job) and when Dr. Mustoe told me we could at least IMPROVE my situation I (even though I had full trust in him bc he really seemed to understand) wasn't expecting MAJOR improvement. I was just expecting SOME improvement. I cannot put into words the gratitude I have already THE DAY OF surgery. If you've been under the knife you know day of isn't always pretty. And its not BUT even so.. I ALREADY SEE MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. When I can take off my bandages and my swelling goes down... I cant even imagine it. I am BEYOND IMPRESSED. My mouth wasn't even the main target (and honestly I lost hope for ever really LIKING the way my mouth looks ever again) and.. already he has countered the effects of the botchness I got with the previous doctor in my mouth. Dr Mustoe performed surgery to remove a large Basal Cell cancer from my shin located on the shin bone where the skin is the thinest and tightest. He not only removed it with proper margins so as to avoid future surgery but was able to close/suture the wound in a fashion that the healing process has gone smoothly to the point that my wife claims in two weeks "you won't even know you had a surgery". Dr Mustoe has an unbelievable bedside manner. My son had an extreme deviated septum and unable to breathe out of his left nostril and additionally the nose was not straight. Our end goal was for him to breathe! Dr. Mustoe said he would get it as straight as he could and may not be perfect. After one month my son is able to breathe and his nose, while not perfectly straight, still looks like him and doesn't look like a 'done' nose. I would highly recommend Dr. Mustoe and his team. I am so grateful to have found a Board Certified Doctor who I fully trust. Dr.Mustoe has done my Breast Augmentation, Tummy Tuck , Neck Lipo and Rhinoplasty in 2020 and 2021. I kept coming back to him because of his care and great results he gave me, I was hesitant to get a rhinoplasty at first because I didn’t want a “pinched” looking nose but Dr.Mustoe assured me that wouldn’t happen and it didn’t! Two months ago he changed my big nose by giving me a more defined one but yet very natural looking at the same time. I know everyone is different but in my case I had no bruising around my eyes so it was easier for me to go out without people noticing I just had surgery. I had a rhinoplasty about 3 yrs ago now with Dr. Mustoe. He was the only surgeon I consulted with. He didnt tell me what I wanted to hear but rather told me it will remain my nose but much more asthetically beautiful. I chose him because of his extensive education and training on the recovery and lack of use of general anasthesia. Dr. Mustoe is a very professional and honest man. Through my entire rhinoplasty process, I never once left his office feeling uneasy about my decision to do this procedure. It was obvious that he has dealt with many rhinoplasty patients in his career because of how comfortable he made me feel and how much knowledge he provided me with. If he could not achieve a result you are aiming for he will tell you right away many reasons why he doesn’t feel comfortable or why it is not medically possible, which to me speaks volumes on him caring about his patients and not just their money. I was having an issue with a drooping right eye and it was suggested I see a plastic surgeon. Dr. Mustoe came recommended and I went for my initial consult. His office was very efficient in scheduling a visit, friendly when I checked in and my wait time was minimal. Dr. Mustoe spent quality time with me and I never felt rushed. The person that handles the estimates was equally helpful and I decided to move ahead. There was a pre-op visit about a week beforehand and the directions they provide for the day of surgery and post-op care are very thorough and easy to understand. The procedure went well and I had two subsequent visits to check on my progress. I was very impressed by his attention to detail and his dedication to achieving the best possible result. Very pleased. Dr. Mustoe performed blepharoplasty on both of my eyelids. The eyelids were so droopy my vision was being impacted. Insurance would cover the procedure, but I needed to have it done sooner than Dr. Mustoe's schedule allowed. He and his staff made great effort to get me in while the insurance was still valid, which I greatly appreciated. I can't say enough about the staff, especially the surgical coordinator, the surgical assistant and the nurse. People often overlook the importance of the staff, but their competence, kindness and genuine care were a large part of my experience, and I can't thank them enough. Dr. Mustoe is a skilled surgeon. He very clearly explained the procedure, what I could expect during it and healing from it. He explained the limitations of the surgery and what I could expect as an outcome. He was spot on about all of it. The results were better than I expected. It's now six months out and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. My vision is restored and I look better. I recently had breast implant replacement surgery with a capsulectomy to take care of scar tissue. It had been 11 years since my previous procedure and was very nervous about how things would "settle" out after all these years. I am only one week post op and the result is wonderful and everything I could have hoped for. I have no pain and had virtually little to no pain after the surgery. Dr. Mustoe took great care in making sure I understood what he was going to due during the surgery and was a very calming influence. It was my first ever real surgery (besides wisdom teeth extractions), and I couldn't have been more comfortable with everything. From the first consultation to the last follow-up, Dr. Mustoe and his team were friendly, confident, patient, and possibly any other positive adjective you could imagine. The communication between yourself and the office is top notch, and they are with you every step of the way. Dr. Mustoe is a real professional. He is very straightforward and honest with the results that can be achieved with your existing features, which I feel is one of the most important parts of the profession. There is no beating around the bush when it comes to things he is confident he can do, and things that may not be realistic, even for an EXTREMELY experienced and qualified surgeon. When I first began contemplating the idea of a rhinoplasty, I was so very apprehensive, so terribly anxious in my concerns over having a potentially nonreversible procedure done. So, I did my homework, no, I reeeeealy did my homework, just as I as if I were still in graduate school. And I found Dr. Thomas Mustoe to be the quintessential, head and shoulders above all the rest, physician for the tast at hand. ----And, the results have proved out my diligent studies. I am 100% pleased and so very grateful to Dr. Mustoe, for I'm a new man, no more nose jokes, and when I look in the mirror now, I'm no longer appalled, but instead, amazed and thankful to God for blessing with such a skilled man.

Dr. Mustoe did a tummy tuck and liposuction on me in 2018. I had minimal pain and the results were fantastic! My belly button looks natural and you can’t even tell that I had surgery. I was even able to walk to the bathroom unassisted as soon as I woke up from surgery. I’m going back to get liposuction on my back so that my back will match the way that I look from the front.

I had a tummy tuck with Dr. Mustoe, and he made me feel so comfortable and confident. Everyone in his office is very friendly and helpful, but when Dr. Mustoe walks into your room, it's like you are the only person there - he's present, never condescending, and very reassuring. I had a septoplasty to help with breathing and to correct a crooked nose. My nose is a lot straighter but I am unhappy with everything else. When I went in for the consult Dr. Mustoe asked if I wanted to also shorten my nose. I didn't have a small nose, but it definitely wasn't big so I said no. The day of the surgery just before going under anesthesia he asked again if I would like to shorten my nose during the procedure. I said no and then he proceeded to ask my family that was in the room with me. I felt so pressured that I finally said yes, just a little. He said it would barely be noticeable. Instead the tip totally looks different and it's more hooked instead of pointy like it used to be. It also affected my lips by making the gap between my lips and nose smaller. And I have a scar between my nostrils. During the consults he kept telling me how careful he is, that there won't be any bruising. Maybe he should have paid more attention to properly doing what I went there for not being concerned with the bruising. I would not recommend Dr. Mustoe to anyone. Just over a month ago, I had a facelift, one brow lift (the right was lower than the left), and a few fat injections under my eyes. I was back to work in just under two weeks, and all of the staples and stitches are out, save for a few that will dissolve on their own. I am quite impressed by how much I simply look like a much better version of me! I looked tired before, and gravity was not being my face's friend. I am really happy and this is barely four and a half weeks out. I look forward to seeing how this progresses as all of the swelling finally evens out and all the stitches dissolve. After 13 years with my implants, I was grateful for their service but in search of a different aesthetic. After meeting with 3 other surgeons in Chicago, I met with Dr. Mustoe and booked my implant exchange/downsize 2 days later. The single biggest factor in my decision in addition to his reviews was how he walked me through my options and pros and cons of each (I was also considering complete removal). This led to my decision to downsize instead of remove my implants completely. I'm 10 days post-op and I have had zero actual pain. I'm beyond delighted with the results and already feel more nimble. My clothes fit better, I feel my chest isn't the first thing people notice about me, and he even cleared me yesterday to go back to the gym. If you're considering breast implant removal or breast implant exchange in Chicago, here's what I'll say: Go meet with Dr. Mustoe. His expertise in this area is unparalleled. You'll be delighted with your pre-op care and post-op care (his nurse, office manager, and front desk staff are all tops). He's surrounded himself with a staff and surgical center that treat you like a person, not a patient. Oh, and yes -- you can afford him. It's my body and I wasn't looking to buy discount (seriously -- there are some things you should never buy off an ad on the Red Line and cosmetic surgery is one of them). While cost was much less important than my comfort and my impression of the surgeon, in a cost comparison, he lands right in the middle of the range. I was charged 8000 dollars and everything was fine I had my surgery I was off for 5 days and when they took this plane and look fine I noticed that one of my nostrils what's smaller than the other and my nose was crooked. I address my concerns to dr. Mostoe and he promised he was going to fix it as soon as a year has passed to make sure that that was the way my nose was going to be a year pass I contact dr. Mostoe he injected my nose for a couple months because it was looking really bad. After 6 or seven sessions dr. Mustoe said that he couldn't do anymore but he was going to correct it first he said that he was going to correct it in the office it was a minor change then he changed his mind he said that it was going to be in a hospital setting then he he kept on going back and forth and not decisive what he was going to do I he said to make an appointment to schedule the correction I called the office numerous times to make this appointment no one has gotten back to me till this day now has been 2 years and I have my surgery my nose looks horrific I do not recommend you spending it $8,000 for bad work I would give zero starts but unfortunately that's not an option they'll take your money. My first experience with Dr. Mustoe was when he performed a revision rhinoplasty on my daughter after she had pretty disastrous results by another surgeon in the area. Dr. Mustoe came highly recommended to us and I cannot even begin to tell you how happy we are with the results. You can't even compare this to what was done to her before. Larisa, T., 61 year old - very good results after face lift and laser treatments I would like to share my experience after a procedure performed by Dr. Mustoe. Exactly 1 month ago he did my full face lift, hips/chin liposuction, lips/low eye lids fat drafting, laser treatment to my upper eye lids and laser treatment for many brown spots on my face /hands. Surgery lasted (exactly as promised by Dr.Mustoe) only 3 hours . It is almost twice less then other plastic surgeons told me on pre-op consultations. I was sleepy that day but fully functional. Pain very very mild but took 3 Narco just in case. When the morning after surgery I removing the dressing from my face I was relieved and excited. My face was swollen but all features fully recognizable, there were also some bruises. The pain was subsiding so I took only 2 Narco pills. I was back to normal functioning on day 3. I was driving, went grocery shopping, walked my dog, did some house chores etc. Took only 1/2 Narco pill before going to sleep. I was back to work one week after Dr. Mustoe skillful work. There were still some puffiness and fading bruises, but very easy coverable with makeup. I was back to gim on week 2 and did mild cardio and weight lifting, yoga after week 3. Today is 4 weeks and I am enjoying tremendously my younger and beatified face. No more looking in mirror at the drooping skin and gloomy facial expression. The beauty of Dr. Mustoe work is that almost no one can tell there was procedure done - I just look younger but I don't look "pooled", "face lifted" or "done'. I was faced with a fibroid tumor when I was 30. It was growing rapidly and needed to be removed. A colleague told me about Dr. Mustoe who concurred that the removal of the tumor would leave my right breast deformed. I went though breast augmentation and had no problems for 22 years. Last year, a massage therapist caused the implant to rupture. I have been living in Florida for 8 years and received opinions from several physicians here. After 4 breast augmentation surgeries and LOADS of complications, I finally heard about Dr. Mustoe through a family friend who had a similar story to mine and was able to get it corrected. I scheduled a consultation (it took forever because he's a busy guy, but, trust me, he's worth the wait), and I met with him. He is obviously very knowledgable, has tons of awards and accolades, and a lot of experience, even with difficult cases like mine. He also gave it to me straight - he didn't really tell me what I wanted to hear, but he told me how it had to be done in order for it to be right. Having the surgery with him was the BEST decision I could have made. The surgery was long, the recovery was hard, and we went under the muscle despite my initial desires, but I truly couldn't be happier. I haven't had any of the previous complications, my breasts are soft, appropriately sized, even, well placed, and just overall fantastic. I recently completed a very complicated corrective rhinoplasty and am 100% thrilled with the results. I have needed this procedure for years and was dreading both the discomfort and the recovery. I met with 3 different doctors before selecting Dr. Mustoe for this procedure. From the moment I met him I knew he was the right doctor for the job. He is patient, thorough and very, very professional. He took a great deal of time listening to me and explaining to me what needed to be done. He way undersold himself and way over performed. About 17 years ago I had reconstructive surgery from a mastectomy. Although I was very happy for being a survivor, I was very disappointed in the reconstructive results. Because of the life of such surgery, it was time to have a "re-do". I saw a surgeon where I live and was not impressed. I am 21 years old. I had 2 rhinoplasty surgeries with another surgeon, leaving me with a nose too large for my face. Dr. Mustoe did an incredible job. He went over his vision for me in great detail in the office. He was very warm, caring, thorough, and honest. His entire staff is very caring and available. You will never find a more available surgeon. I had an open procedure under sedation, not general. Everything went smoothly. The entire experience was much easier in every way.

I had a lower face lift which resulted in 7 areas that needed repair including 1 that was and is not repairable. I consulted 5 plastic surgeons, all offering the same opinion. The repair work cost me half the original cost of the surgery. Mustoe has his sales pitch down. Unfortunately a number of his patients have suffered poor results, and he refuses to accept that its his poor work. Possibly years ago, he had better results, but now he is not worth the risks.

I found Dr. Mustoe through a magazine naming him a top plastic surgeon in Chicago. I was taken a back by the long wait to see him and the $200 charge for the consult but I did it anyway. I was on a wait list and got in sooner when someone cancelled. I have interviewed several plastic surgeons and he is what I was looking for, a doctor, not a salesman. He talks fast so listen up when he is explaining the procedure. All the questions I was about to ask he already had answered. HIs nurse is really nice and goes through everything with you. I had arm lipo. It was done in his office. I chose the sedative vs. being knocked out. I have a high tolerance for meds so I did feel a little bit of the procedure so make sure you are honest about your weight and how much it meds it takes you to feel sleepy. I did it on a Friday and was back to work on Monday. No issues or complications. I am happy with the results 4 months later. There are no scars and it looks natural. I was referred to Dr. Mustoe for my breast augmentation through a friend. I did some research on him and liked what I had seen and read. When I went to my first consultation appointment, the entire staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Dr. Mustoe came in and took me through the whole procedure, asked a lot of different questions and made sure I understood what the procedure would entail. He also made sure to answer all my questions so that we both were making the right decisions to do what was best for me! After I decided to go through with the procedure, I was handled with the utmost respect and care. I felt at ease from the time of the procedure all the way through post op. Each time I went in to see Dr. Mustoe for follow-up appointments he took his time with me and made sure I was happy and comfortable. I could not have asked for a better experience throughout my journey. My results are absolutely perfect!
