The office is very friendly and accommodating. Very relaxed atmosphere. He was very direct and straight to the point which he made it very clear what was happening with my shoulder

My first encounter with Dr. Alamanda was prompt, pleasant and professional. He quickly diagnosed my problem and administered an injection which has addressed it. I shall certainly turn to him again should the need arise.

Dr Alamanda has a good bedside manor. Always answered my questions. Very attentive to my needs before and after my total hip replacement.

Dr. Alamanda is friendly, thorough, efficient. He took the time to look at my records thoroughly (my problems are complex), explain the issue (which was evaluated and explained wrongly to me by another Orthopedic at the same practice), listen to me, and find three, atleast temporary solutions, until we know more from a PT. I feel very fortunate to have been matched with him. Oh, and great bedside manner.

I had viewed Dr Alamanda on a Facebook video about joint replacements. It was very interesting when he spoke about robotics. I’ve been seeing various specialists at OrthoVA since 2003. After seeing the video, decided it was time to change to Dr Alamanda. He listened to me, heard me, explained, answered questions and reassured me. Overall a great visit.

I had a replacement of my right hip. Dr. Alamanda and his staff were professional, very knowledgeable and very friendly. Dr. Alamanda answered everyone of my questions Dr. Alamanda and his staff made me feel I was their only patient from prior to the operation and throughout the procedure. The post-op care was exceptional. I highly recommend Dr. Alamanda.

While Dr Alamanda is a nice person, my personal experience with him was subpar. He didn't offer any options for treatment and didn't inquire about my concerns on surgery. He didn't seem to care about my concerns as a patient and the visits were usually only 10 minutes and I always felt rushed. I did not feel valued as a patient and I will be getting second opinion elsewhere. I would not go back to see him nor would I recommend him to family or friends based on my experience.

Dr Alamanda is everything you want a surgeon to be. He is smart, up to date on the latest techniques and uses them, sympathetic, and cares about his patients. I highly recommend him - I had a knee revision which I was very concerned about and researched surgeons all over the country. He is top-notch.

Approaching 70 and learning you need hip replacement can be scary. TRUST ME! Dr. Alamanda will do an exceptional job. Excellent explanation. Compassionate and personal care. You can not find a better surgeon. Dr. Alamanda is the best. I highly recommend.

Charged me 200 some dollars for a less than ten minute "consultation" which provided nothing of value to me. I knew I wanted to get PRP therapy but he doesn't even provide this service and I told him what was wrong with my arm and I wanted PRP therapy and he said they don't provide it there and suggested where I can go for it. He charged me like $200 for this, ridiculous. I messaged him later to discuss a reasonable charge because I was willing to pay for his time to see me and the brief talk but he never responded back.

The office staff is polite and efficient. I have confidence in Dr Alamanda he explains the plan of care very well and answers all my questions. I am an RN and have witnessed many doctor patient interactions and I fine Dr Alamands to be one of the best with bedside manner and willingness to answer questions. Overall I find this to be the case with any staff I have called the office and received a call back from a PA promptly with assistance. For such a large practice OrthoVirginia is very good at making the patient feel like they are the first priority.

Dr. Alamanda was super through out! I suffered some concern once the surgery date had been set 5/24/2021, getting all the pre work testing requirements outlined, I didn't think I could get it all done on time (there was a phone replacement process going on concurrently causing me to be unable to reach several of the service providers I need to contact. I was ready to give up! I mentioned my frustration to his surgical scheduler, Julie. Shortly after that call, Dr. Alamanda called me himself to allay my concerns. I persisted and had a very successful experience , 4 hours in the operating room on 5/24. Thank you Dr. Alamanda!

Dr. Alamanda recently performed a partial knee replacement on me. He was incredibly kind and patient the few visits I had with him before the surgery. He calmed any fears I had the morning of the surgery. He also personally called me at home multiple times in the first week post surgery to check in on me. He is knowledgeable. He will answer all your questions. Plus he gives you optimism for recovery even in the midst of post-surgery pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Alamanda.
