Would NOT recommend this office to anyone

Dr. Mackewiz runs a professional clean office/facility and has a staff that's nice and courteous. He has the latest brands and variety of glasses to choose from. He gives a thorough eye exam, see yourself better by making him your choice.

My name is Tamara Mayo I'm a patient of Dr. Mackewiz and have been for over 5 years now his staff is the best very friendly and very knowledgeable they always take great care of me every visit. Dr. Mackewiz is very thorough and always on time I never have to wait very long when I have an appointment and I do appreciate that he's always on time not to mention Dr. Mackewiz has the best selection of eye wear anywhere I get so many compliments on my glasses and I always tell people go to Bear Eye.

I was very pleased with my experience at Bear Eye Associates. It was good to be treated with professionalism and care. When I say the doctor and all the other employees of Bear Eye Associates made me feel that I was in good and efficient hands and even made me smile when I left, then you can believe they are the best. I appreciated their follow-up and willingness to answer questions also. A big thank you to all of them.

It took me a while to find a reliable eye doctor with a helpful staff, but now I travel from the Philadelphia region to specifically see Dr. MacKewiz (and his cheerful staff) If you can't tell, Dr. MacKewiz is very passionate about his Ohio State education and love for the school, which was clearly instrumental in his success as an optometrist. He gets to know you on a personal level and ensures you know exactly what is taking place during your eye exam. Never longer than a 10 minute wait

5 stars not only for the Doctor at Bear Eye Center, but the Manager who went beyond the call of duty to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I can honestly say that Bear Eye Center is run by great caring people that really care about their customers. I was being fitted for contacts and I have a stigmatism in my one eye and getting contacts is not easy with this condition. They were patient and accommodating. I would definitely refer all of my friends and family to this Doctor.

I'm not one to normally write reviews, but I wanted to recommend Dr. Mackewiz of Bear Eye Associates to anyone who is looking for a very good eye Doctor. The people at the front desk were friendly and very helpful with my insurance questions. Once answered, I had several tests performed and then saw the Doctor. Dr. Mackewiz was very friendly throughout the exam and was very thorough. He also verified my suspicion of needing reading glasses. Five star Eye Doctors office for sure!

Recently switched to contacts and had so many questions that the doctor took time to answer. He was very thorough/diligent on making sure that I was being fitted with the proper contacts. He explained which brand would give me the best comfort for my eyes. The staff was very hands on and encouraging when it came to learning about how to insert and remove my contacts. They let me come back several times in a week (w/o an appt) to practice before I went home with my first pair. Great experience!

Recently traveled back home to Northern Delaware from the beach to see my old Eye Doctor. Have total confidence that Dr. Mac will get me the right prescription. Really appreciate his thoroughness. Even though Dr. Mac explained that I didn't have much of a change in my prescription, I got an awesome pair of Costa sunglasses. I appreciate a good selection and the great customer service I always get from Renee. The professionalism is second to none, highly recommended.

My visit at Bear Eye was a positive experience. The Doctor was very professional. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was impressed at how clean and organized the office was. The broad selection of glasses was amazing.

I have been going to Bear Eye Center for years and absolutely would not go anywhere else. Dr. MacKewiz and his staff are a great team, they are always very nice and professional. Scheduling an appointment with their online tool is very easy. The showcases are beautiful and the selection of glasses is probably the best in Delaware. My experience with Bear Eye Associates was unbelievable. I thought I was going in for a routine eye exam because I needed a upgrade on my glasses and because of luckily choosing Bear Eye Associates I was able to get a diagnose of a illness I have been pursuing for 17 years. Doctors have been dismissing me for this long. Bear Eye Associates found ptosis and referred me out to a neurologist and my first thought was, what can a neurologist do. I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. Thank you

While on vacation in Delaware I had an eye emergency. Our call to Bear Eye and Dr MacKewiz was received with immediate compassion by the office staff who found time for me in their busy schedule. I was very relieved after a comprehensive examination and treatment. Dr MacKewiz listened carefully to my concern, provided professional treatment, and assured me that my symptoms would subside in a couple days. We were able to relax and enjoy the remainder of our vacation. Overall excellent experience!

At Bear Eye Associates Dr. MacKewiz is an excellent doctor who is very thorough. They also have a wonderful staff especially Reenie, who is very professional, wonderful personality and always willing to assist, she’s Awesome. They have a great selection of eye glasses. I have been a patient of Dr. Mackewiz for many years. His experience drew me to his office. His care for my well-being keep me coming back. Dr. MacKewiz answers my many questions with great understanding and patience. His staff is very accommodating and extremely friendly. You always get a smile and a hello upon entering the office. It is a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The office is always neat and bright. And the selection of glasses is outstanding.

I would highly recommend Bear Eye Associates to my family and friends! I felt Dr. Mackewiz was very professiona and I am thankful for his honesty. Dr. Mackewiz was able to tell that may cholesterol may be a little high from examining my eyes. A few months later I had some bloodwork done and he was correct. I was very impressed and thankful for that information. Since my exam, I made some changes to my lifestyle and my bloodwork is back to normal.

Dr. Mackewiz and his staff and Bear Eye Associates were so wonderful with my son. At four years old, it's not exactly easy to pick out a pair of glasses but the staff, especially Renee Mackewiz, was so patient and helpful when recommending styles that were "kid-friendly". She really made him feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this office to friends and family.

My appointment at Bear Eye was on-time and I was pleasantly greeted by the staff. After filling out paperwork I was asked about several options about eye tests and they were explained very thoroughly. The office was very busy but organized. The doctor was very efficient and he also answered all of my questions patiently as I was getting contacts and I did not realize that after trying the contacts on that I had to have my eyes re-checked each time. I was thrilled to get my glasses and contacts.

Everyone in the office has always been very nice to me. The staff is so kind, very caring with my concerns. Dr. Mackewiz is very thorough with explaining procedures and treatments.
