Dr. Hartel takes expert care of patients, knows ophthalmology better than anyone we’ve ever consulted ~ with neuro and ocular plastics background as well, has vast experience, and has extremely high standards - checks everything very carefully and cares about his patients’ health and well-being as though they’re part of his family. He is one of the most thoughtful, dedicated, tactful & caring physicians we have met … and we have had the great privilege of being helped by some absolutely great physicians. Dr. Hartel is certainly one of THE VERY BEST of THE VERY BEST!

Dr Walter Hartel is professional, very intelligent, and kind. He has been my eye Dr for over 20 years.

Dr Hartel is the ultimate scholar and ophthalmic practitioner. He was so thorough in his diagnosis and treatment of my hemi facial spasms that my quality of life improved dramatically. Dr. Hartel is very through and caring. I had an unexpected problem and he was very concerned and thoughtfully decided on a course of action and then explained his course of treatment suggestion and his reasons for it.

My visit was efficient and professional. Cared about patients be wearing masks and requesting patients to wear a mask because of COVID-19. Dr. Hartel always takes time to explain and answer questions. Dr. Hartel is the best.

Quite simply, Dr. Hartel is the ultimate physician. He is brilliant, conscientious and truly caring. Rarely do you find a physician who checks all of the boxes for what you want in your doctor. This man does. When he retires he will leave a large void in his profession. I wish him all the happiness in the next chapter of his life. My wife and I will miss him dearly. Minimal wait time

Dr Hartel has been treating me for several eye ailments over the years. In every case, Dr. Hartel has displayed the utmost professionalism and subject knowledge. He always answers every question I may have thoroughly and to my satisfaction. Every ailment that I have gone to Dr Hartel for has been satisfactorily resolved. I feel fortunate to be under Dr. Hartel’s care.

I have a double vision issue. He is the most knowledgeable eye doctor I have used. The wait is long. He has been called to the hospital by other physicians when I have been waiting. The wait is worth his experience and talent. I would recommend him highly and have sent numerous friends to him.

Dr. Hartel came highly recommended by my ophthalmologist for my surgery. My initial appointment was in 2015. His staff at that time was professional and personal. A year went by and after resubmitting my diagnosis to my Insurance company I was finally approved for surgery. This is were the story goes downhill. I called to schedule a date for surgery and after 8 months elapsed someone fron his office called. The back office is unprofessional, rude, extremely unorganized and incompetent. Don't use

Excellent mannered. Takes time to answer any and all questions. Always takes his time and never feel rushed by him. When I had an after office hour issue he came into the office to see me around 8pm at night after he finishes a surgery. Did an excellent job on my eye surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I was sent to see and that doctor made the appointment with Dr. Hartel because my field of vision had decreased about half of what it is suppose to be and had been. Dr. Hartel was excellent explaining what was happening with my eyes and eyelids. He told me what would happen if I did not have a particular surgery. It was successful and am able to have the field of vision I had in my twenties. He also checks on other situations with my eyes and the care of them. He answers my questions.
