Dr. Wendy R. Brewster, MD, PhD Oncologist in Chapel Hill, North Carolina along with his excellent team of collaborators Jamila Murray, Shamekia L. Wilson and colleagues of the UNC, with his brilliant mind and by the grace of God, literally saved my life. His professionalism and dedication, as well as his human quality, helped me to understand that chemoerapia is not a poison, but on the contrary, a medicine made synthetically but with products that nature gives us, called Vegetal Alkaloids that are produced from the plants, the vinca alkaloids that are extracted from the vinca rosea plant, the Taxanos that are produced from the bark of the Tejo del Pacifico tree, among others. In fact, chemotherapy has achieved in me, along with the care of your department, excellent results, taking away the dramatic scene that had remained in my mind from the early days of when the science of studies on this subject had not advanced as much as now. . Su profesionalismo y entrega, asi como su calidad humana, me ayudaron a entender que la quimioerapia no es un veneno, sino por el contrario, una medicina realizada sinteticamente pero con productos que la naturaleza nos da, llamados Alcaloides Vegetales que se producen a partir de las plantas, los alcaloides de la vinca que se extraen de la planta vinca rosea, los Taxanos que se producen a partir de la corteza del árbol de Tejo del Pacifico, entre otras. De hecho la quimioterapia ha logrado en mi, junto con los cuidados de su departamento unos excelentes resultados, quitandome la escena dramatica que habia quedado en mi mente de los primeros tiempos de cuando la ciencia de los estudios sobre este tema no habian avanzado tanto como ahora.
