Dr. William J Murzic

Five plus years ago Dr. Murzic replaced my left hip. Three weeks ago he replaced the other hip. Both surgeries had good recovery. I expect this one to be as successful as the first. After full recovery I will be making plans for a long overdue knee replacement. No one else will be doing the surgery except Dr. Murzic.

I had my hip replaced at Dr. William Murzic's out patient facility in NH. in 2018. His bedside manner is horrendous. My wife said he was out the door after surgery, told her everything went fine. I had to be transferred by ambulance to Beverly Hospital to complete the procedure that did not go fine with another DR! I suffered my 4th dislocation on January 31, 2022. He denies doing anything wrong although I've been lead to believe he did. I'm going back to New England Baptist, where I had my first hip replacement 13 years ago with absolutely no issues. Just had a full knee replacement with Team Murzic, after suffering for three years. Dr.Murzic said I would know when I was ready and he was right. I did not want to go to a hospital and he introduced me to The Surgical center in Seabrook NH. I was in at 7:00 am and out at 2;00 pm. After 2 weeks driving and 1 month back to work back to work and feeling great. The team did everything for me I just had to show up. I really appreciate the special care I received, never feeling like a number. Thanks, Dr. Murzic you are the best

He was rude, dismissive, arrogant, and uncaring .

Was told to make a follow-up appointment w/ Murzic after mri was scheduled. MRI scheduled for 8/2. Receptionist said 8/21 was the earliest follow-up appointment they had. Asked if I could see another dr who had previously treated me and receptionist said no. I said by the time the 21st rolls around, my MRI won’t be completely accurate bc my injury would be worse, as my knee was increasingly swollen and hot to the touch. I explained I do lots of bending , lifting and squatting, as I work in a face-paced warehouse. Well, the receptionist said....perhaps you should reschedule your mri for closer to the 21st. I said perhaps I should find a new orthopedic dr and I saw him today (Dr. Polansky A+). I can’t speak to Murzic’s skills since I didn’t return to him. But the cavalier attitude of the receptionist coupled w/ Murzic’s indifference and unaffected arrogance pretty much turned me off. I’m all set. Thanks for nothing, Dr. Murzic and receptionist. Dr Murzic has replaced both of my knees at different times he did a fantastic job both time I have and will continue to highly recommend him to anybody with a knee problem he talks to you and makes sure you understand all options in a language you will understand

Had left knee replacement in June of 2016...was on the slopes skiing that November!! The best surgeon in the operating room...not much of a bedside manner, but love him for the quality of work!

Dr. Murzic performed my hip replacement surgery, and within 4 months I was back to jumping on my trampoline. It is like I never had the surgery. Recovery was quick and with minimal pain. I had complete confidence in him and would highly recommend him to anyone needing this surgery.

Ruined my life,cut my hamstring and tendon , and during rehab they let go, constantly fall , been in pain since operation and he denies ever doing it . also lied to me about my ex ray's. As far as I'm concerned any doctor who won't stand up to his mistakes shouldn't be practicing medicine.

Ruined my life too! Dr. Murzic replaced my hip, and a year later it was recalled. (Johnson and Johnson Depuy hip) It broke after the surgery and I had to wait 4 months to fix it to avoid infection and the ligaments got all stretched out. Now my leg is 3/4" longer and I have a lot of tissue damage. It has dislocated twice since the surgery and if it happens again I will need a 4th to lock my hip so I can't disclocate it. This was in 2013. Since then, having problems with the leg and anticipating fixing the other side to even myself out and finish the job. I had to have carpel tunnel surgery on both hands from the crutches. I was part of a class action suit because I never would have won because Dr. Murzic lied about my hip failing. I have been forbidden to talk about this on social media until the case was over. Lots of people are crippled as a result of this hip. If I listened to Dr. Murzic, I would be one. He refused to say I needed the surgery, delayed the test I needed but I insisted. I couldn't walk for more than 15 minutes without collapsing. The doctor that fixed it said it was Murzic's fault. He should have done a scan to see how much bone I had and not been surprised. He had me on a spinal which is not appropriate for a revision. He should have put spider screws in, but he didn't expect it to be melted, put in one screw, didn't tell me there was no bone. I was rock star in the hospital and he said to be careful of dislocation, but not breaking. It broke a few days later and when I called to say I was in horrible pain and my leg is swollen, they said don't worry, muscle cramp. When I went in for follow up looking for more Percocet his assistant said, "you shouldn't need that, why are you still on crutches?" Then they saw the X-ray. Like a hospital drama. They came in with these sad faces and said, "You're hip broke and we have to do it again." I sat there in shock listening to him say I want to fix it right away. Or maybe I should wait for the bone to grow. "I don't think so. I want a second opinion." Ruined my life too! Dr. Murzic replaced my hip, and a year later it was recalled. Dr. William Murzic orthopedic surgeon ruined my hip and knees. I came to him for help and honesty and got neither. He did my hip in June 2015 and it has never been right. I begged for answers and help and he kept insisting that once my knees were done, it would improve my hip. He did bilateral knee replacements in July 2017 and now nearly 7 mos later, I am still in agony with both hip and knees. My last visit a couple of weeks ago he said "I think you like coming in here telling me how much pain you're in". I was dumbfounded he could say such a thing. I have done everything he's told me to do plus what my PT has helped me with. He changes his tune every time I've gone in, from not knowing my name once to not remembering how long ago I had surgery. I called the administration of the practice and once I reported him there, he called me back and spent 45 minutes with me on the phone denying this and that. I asked him if something could be wrong with my replacements and the phone gets quiet and then he says he has something he was meaning to tell me that he found out a month ago at a conference that there are problems with my knee replacements and the cement could break away from the tibia...maybe....no way to tell other than pain. He kept telling me it was highly unlikely. I said why didn't you tell me this before, he says I'm telling you now, I have to. I said you do this all the time and just happen to find out at a "conference" something was wrong with these Depuy replacements and by the way, he has already done 3 revisions. Highly recommend DrMurzic. I waited a year for my knee to heal, it never did. Finally went to Dr. Murzic and had a meniscal repair. I had pain relief in my knee in only a few days. He is a listener, patient, and caring as well as an excellent surgeon.

Second knee replacement although more painful because of its condition, is better and has a tighter joint. Dr. Murzic did a very good job and after the pain subsided is doing excellent with no pain in either knee. I would recommend him foe surgery.

3/17/2015 Dawn Bavaro Lynn, Ma. Approximately 7-8 yrs ago, I badly broke my left ankle. It actually folded all the way back on same. I was rushed to Salem Hospital by ambulance. The angel of a skilled surgeon was Dr Murzic. He did a remarkable job on my ankle, I now have a plate and 7 screws in it. I have never had a problem with this ankle, since his remarkable work !
