Mr. Yuhwan Hong

Increased sports activity ended up ripping my tibialis posterior tendon (already damaged), causing a progressive collapse of the arch. This prevented me walking even short distances without pain. The first opinion from a podiatrist was very bleak. As I was looking for a second opinion, I came across Dr. Yuhwan Hong who had excellent reviews. He listened to my concern, and explained well his preferred surgical option including the pros and cons: it will take me a long while before I can start running again, but at least I would be able to walk, swim and bike (in that order) painlessly in the near future. The procedure went smoothly. He pretty accurately assessed the recovery and healing timing of the foot and ankle, warning me not to stress my foot too early even if it was not painful. I am now at 2 1/2 months passed surgery. The cuts healed very well, the two bone implants are stable, but there is still a little swelling. So still walking with a « boot »…

Staff is very helpful when everything, especially questions on that pesky paperwork. Dr Hong very thorough in explaining procedures & options.

I was encountered with a perineal tendon rupture that another podiatrist didn’t have an answer to. Dr. Hong performed surgery and is unbelievably knowledgeable about his craft. Very satisfied!

Dr. Hong is an ankle surgeon who is on the cutting edge of technology and uses the Zimmer Biomet device for total ankle replacement. He’s a no nonsense and very honest surgeon. He will always get back to me and answers all questions honestly. I trust him completely.

Dr. Hong is always professional and compassionate. He answers questions and explains procedures clearly, offering options to resolve problems. I’m confident in his ability to provide excellent care.

Ever though his office was running behind, I never feel rushed with Dr Hong. He always takes time to talk and answer questions.

He listened to my problems and showed me the images. He took the time to show me all the fractures.

Dr Hong was very thorough with his explanations about my knee problem. We ultimately did arthroscopic surgery and I was very pleased with the outcome. He was patient and answered all our questions after surgery as well. I have great confidence in Dr. Hong.

A few things pop into my heart when I think of my experience with Dr. Hong...he genuinely cares and listens; he is knowledgeable and professional in his field; he is kind; he is cheerful and smiles (which brings comfort when one is stressed, at least it does for me). I recently switched from UC Davis to Sutter. I can honestly say that those whom I have had the pleasure to meet treat you with respect and human kindness beyond reproach. I'm on my way to total wellness and I can say that Sutter has been the catapult that is leading the way for me.

Dr Hong operated on my left foot eight years ago and I had excellent results. He is a great surgeon who really cares about his patients. Naturally now that it’s time for my right bonion to be corrected I chose to go to him. He takes the time to explain things in detail. He’s easy to talk to and I highly recommend him based on my experience.

Just moved to Sacramento and luckily found Dr.Hong. He fixed my foot. I’m still in a cast but I have to recommend this man. He and Bre are the best. Knowledgeable and personable. Everything explained very well. I’ve had an amazing ortho back home in Boston and didn’t think I’d find anyone here! I did and he’s great!!

I always enjoy my appts with Dr. Hong and Bre. They are so personable and fun. Plus, Dr Hong did a great job correcting my foot and ankle. He is so easy to talk to and understand when he explains the process at each stage of a frustratingly slow recovery. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice.

Dr. Hong did both of my knee surgeries. He did an excellent job of explaining the procedures, no problems with the surgery, great bedside manner with a sense of humor. He is kind and he listens. I would highly recommend Dr. Hong.

Dr Hong did surgery on my husbands leg. My husband broke his leg and it did not heal. Dr Hong had to put in a bone and plate with 8 screws. He did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs any type of surgery that he does. Bonnie Burris

I practice Brazillian Jiujitsu at Nick Diaz Academy, but i drive all the way up here to see Dr. Hong. Hes done surgeries on my thumbs and has been excellent at his craft. Best Doc ever gives you the info you need he doesn't beat around the bush staff excellent as well

He did my total knee replacement. I couldn't have asked for a better doc. (and I have seen my number of really BAD uncaring ortho docs prior to him) I would give him ten stars if I could. He is the best in the universe!!
