I went in to get my shoulder looked at due to frequent dislocations. Dr.Humphreys was very informative about what was going on with my shoulder. He diagnosed it as a bankhardt's lesion and recommended surgery. The surgery went great and I have full range of motion. Dr.Humphreys was easy to get along with and very personable. Thanks Dr.Humphreys!

My doctor referred me to Dr. Humphreys here on the island and I am so glad she did. When I consulted with him at my appointment, he had already reviewed my test results (X-Ray & MRI) and had a plan for what surgery could be done to save me from having to have a total knee replacement. He listened to my story and was very understanding and compassionate about what was going on with my knee and my fears of having surgery. On surgery day he met with me and explained everything that was going to happen and made me feel at ease. Surgery went great and I have been back for two follow-up visits and things are going well. My knee is a lot better than it was and I could not be happier with the care that I received from Dr. Humphreys and his staff as well as everyone at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center. Everyone was very professional. I would highly recommend and trust Dr. Humphreys for any of my Orthopedic surgery needs in the future!!

I have a knee injury from when I was a teenager and as I aged it has got progressively worse. I had a steroid shot in it several years ago and it felt like a jackhammer on my knee. I saw Dr. Humphreys and he is so good on the needle that I did not even know he was done. For the first time in over 20+ years I am pain-free in my knee. We (Dr, his nurse, and myself) discussed a plan of treatment. We came to a consensus together and have plotted out what I need for my knee. I really appreciate the fact that we are looking at everything medical before surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Humphreys to any of my family and friends. He has an excellent bedside manner, listens to his patients, and has an open dialogue.

Fantastic care from start to finish. He is the first doctor I’ve had that took the time to explain the injury and repair process in ways that were easy to understand. Appointments were never rushed and all questions asked were explained throughly. Could not be any happier with the care I received and would highly recommend him to anyone. Repair is holding up very well and appears to be just as strong as before the injury occurred.

Dr. Humphreys listened to my concerns around my shoulder issues and was very clear with my options and how long recovery would be. I work with Dr. Humphreys on the best option for me, which was surgery. With consistent exercises as prescribed, my recovery took as long as expected which was explained to me up front. I'm able to use both my shoulder as well as before my injury.

Dr. Hunphreys did two knee replacements on me. They were a year apart. Now after another year, I ran my first five k marathon with no pain!

Went to see Humphrey about a broken foot. It was straight back to the office and no wait time. He has very friendly staff as well as himself. What got me was that over a year seeing many doctors and taking all kinds of test over a previous injury that other doctors thought it was in my head it took him 2 seconds to figure it out. DO NOT GO TO THIS SO-CALLED ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON !!! HE MESSED UP MY OPEN ROTATOR CUFF SURGERY AND RECOVERY !! I NOW HAVE A PINCHED NERVE IN MY NECK. BECAUSE OF HIS TREATMENT ADVICE, I'VE BEEN IN HORRIBLE PAIN FOR 6 MONTHS !! PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!"

Arrogant, rude, poor bedside manor, argumentative, and lacks empathy for his low income patients.

While my surgery has gone great, there is a major lack of communication between Dr & patient, Dr & nurse and Dr & physical therapist! On the day of my surgery I was asked to be there at 10am, I sat in the waiting room until 1230, the nurses stated they could've called but decided against it. I explained to the Dr prior to surgery that I was coming a hour out, that my husband was my ride and we had a toddler in which we couldn't get a sitter for. None of this was taken into account when deciding to call me or not. The dr also stated my husband could come in the back while prepping and recovery room after surgery however that was not the case. The nurses scheduled my first PT appointment, when arriving there the pt office was never given any protocol to follow. First follow up with my Dr he unlocked my brace only to get a big no no from my PT. The PT called the nurses and they agreed with PT, thus is the Dr wrong?!??? Orrrr? Bottom line no one is on the same page! For an effective smooth healing process one would think that communication of protocols is key! Had the best care. My husband had carpal tunnel surgery on his left hand, than had his rotator cuff repaired on the right. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my left had. All done by Dr. Humphreys. Thank you.
