Awful communication!Horrible experience! I am a medical professional myself and I would never ignore my patients like this office does.Shame onyou!

Unimpressed. First, they left me in the lobby for over an hour. They would have left me there longer had my husband not finally asked what the hold up was, and upon asking got told, they they were so sorry, they forgot I was there. Then they acted like I was inconvenient to them, because the very rude staff up front forgot to check me in and they had to "find" someone to check me in. Then someone walked in my room, didn't introduce herself, and acted like she couldn't be bothered to hear what I had to say, cause she was clearly irritated she actually had to do something else besides come out from the desk. Hopefully, giving out my information, she was at the least one of the nursing staff. But because of her demeanor towards me, I just quit talking. I was not impressed with Dr. Farrell at all. Very short, and rude. Basically acted like I was a druggy looking for a fix who was wasting his time. Didn't care at all to hear what I had to say. I am a new patient to him, but NOT new to my situation, and he didn't want to hear anything. It was basically, his way or nothing, regardless of tried and true methods. I have used the same doctor for better than 18 years. With the new laws, I was forced to find a new doctor in the way of pain management. Clearly, this office was a bad choice. He actually had the nerve to tell me that my doctor shouldn't have been helping me, and probably got in trouble because of it. You know NOTHING about my family physician. Your opinion of her was as biased as your opinion of me. I had tests to prove my condition. Injections noted in my file (that I brought with me) that those made it worse, therapy notes (that I brought with me, as well as MRI's). He then processed to tell me, he didn't have all my records to prove anything of why I needed pain management. Then told me, he needed more records before he could help me, and would have his staff call me in a couple days. My appointment was on Monday. I waited until Friday to call. When I did call, got told by someone who answered the phone, that she wasn't there on Monday, and had no idea what I was talking about. But followed up by saying "we're doing everything possible."Seriously? How are you going to tell me you knew nothing about getting "the rest of my records, but your doing everything possible"? At this point, I'm now 3 days out of pain meds, trying to find another damn doctor, who knows nothing about me. A REAL DOCTOR, would have listened to my concern, seen the obvious pain I was in, and did something to help even if it was temporary, while "waiting" on my files. Because a REAL doctor who cared, would know, you can't just STOP abruptly taking your meds. You have to go off slowly if nothing else. But he didn't seem to care. And ALL the records I brought WITH me, MRI's, a orthopedic report (proving the need for surgery) , tests after tests, therapy reports, etc, you couldn't see anything in my file and apparently needed MORE records? I'd give this place a zero if I could. Total waste of an afternoon, when I am an hour away to get here in the first place. He clearly had no intention of helping. I hope, I never receive a bill for this place. I'll NEVER darken their doors again. Don't bother replying with your typical spill of "we take complaints very seriously, and I will research this, call my office to talk, blah blah blah" speech. I am a 45 year old woman that led a normal active lifestyle. I was recently involved in an incident that crushed my right arm, injuring the main nerve that controls my right hand.. leaving it paralyzed. That's life changing. I saw Dr. Farrell for a nerve conduction study and made a follow up appt that I put into my calendar on my phone. When I showed up to the follow up, on the correct day, the office manager loudly proclaimed to the waiting area of me and the one other patient there that I was there at the incorrect time and she would not allow me to see the doctor unless I paid a $35 "missed appointment" fee. WHAT? I looked again at my calendar in my phone and told her that I believed I was right on time. She was so rude, so cold and condescending... she said that her office policies are like traffic laws, if they're not followed you have to pay the price. I thought she must be joking! I replied .. what a terrible analogy! Traffic laws are to keep us safe!! I suggested that perhaps I mistyped the time into my phone, it was within a few days of trying to adjust to only having a left hand. She said IT'S OFFICE POLICY. The office wasn't busy, they could see me... she was training 2 new people and must have wanted to impress them with her... power?? My whole world has been rocked by what's happened to me, a little compassion and common sense would have been welcomed. I've worked in the medical field for 20 years and could NEVER be so terrible to a patient. It's really unfortunate because Dr. Farrell himself is amazing. He's warm, he takes his time to explain everything in a way to make sure you really "get it." If his front office mirrored his demeanor it would be a great practice. With Hitler at the front desk, he'll lose patients. She even looks stark and off putting. I wanted Dr. Farrell to be my coach as I go through my post op and physical therapy.. trying to get my life back. It's a shame I was treated so horribly by his staff. Dr farrell is an amazing doctor. Iv had 6 back surgery and 6 heart surgery and out of all doctors i think he cares the most. And his nurse edith is just as amazing.. i i high recommend him for any pain you hv.

Funny how the negative reviews get deleted. I am still upset that I have to pay over $500 in lab fees for drug tests. When they said they needed a urine specimen, I was not told it was for drug tests. And, they certainly did not tell me that most insurance companies will not pay for "drug" test. In addition, he wanted to set up my steroid shots as a surgery which would have cost me $2600 out of pocket when I could get the shots for $200 a piece at Touchstone Imaging mostly covered.

I'm giving Doctor Farrell three stars for saving my life. Let me discuss my story with you, since the majority of these reviews seem to be fabricated. I was injured 10 years ago in a vehicle-on-person melee. Ive been bounced around from doctor to doctor by all of the anesthesiologists in the area for a decade. They all threw pills at my face and were unwilling to treat the actual problems I was suffering from. Doctor Ainsworth was different -- he told me that unfortunately he wouldnt be able to prescribe drugs to alieve my damaged disks and traumatic brain injury thats confirmed by MRI... so he told me to just go to the ER anytime I needed meds... I guess he was being sardonic and I was gullible because I followed his orders for about a month until the DPS red-flagged me and hospitals would no-longer assist me with treatment. He did, however, say that he would be more than happy to take my cash to perform useless injections that had been provided by numerous other doctors over the past 8 years or so. I truly appreciate someone being so open and honest about their greed and disregard for their clients. Also, the red-headed front desk receptionist sufferes from some form of psychiatric or anxiety issue, because I showed up for my first appointment in my dress suit (which I wear for work) and politely knocked on the door (becasue I know that if you're too aggressive in any way with a pain-management office -- they will discharge you instantly) and she told the nurse that I was like a junkie, "bashing on the glass" trying to break in like a xenomorph monster. Since I work in healthcare I disagreed with the nurse and receptionist when I was informed about this interpretation of events (at my scheduled appointment, so Ainsworth could collect insurance money), but alas -- the relationship was broken, and I didnt want to push them any further. So with the red-flag from the government, I had two options: go to a methadone clinic, or go to a suboxone provider. I chose the later option after simply sitting in the parking lot of the local methadone clinic and watching how terrifying it is -- and you know what? I was lucky. I found a provider who understood my pain, understood the embarrassment and shame placed upon me like Dr Farrell, and actually helped me decrease the pain medication I was taking while helping me with physical therapy programs and mental health support that was inclusive, not depressing or something to be bashful about. By now you can understand the sardonic tone I've composed this with and I'll be clear as crystal. If you have REAL pain management issues, DONT go to this clown and his joke of a practice -- he'll pocket your money while painting you as an addict. And if you are an addict, DONT go to this dude -- he'll end up putting you in jail with his "consultation advice". People who suffer from chronic pain deserve much better than what Dr. Farrell provides. He is simply one more broken cog in a broken system that demands overhaul. He gave me no "treatment plan", he gave me awful "service", and provided me with only the same explanations previous physicians had delivered. If you've read this far -- you deserve better. Someone should have told he was mainly a pain Doctor, apparently sending you to PT is all he knows. I was in "constant" pain after therapy and told him so many many times, I finally saw a prominent Neurosurgeon in Plano. After a few test he could see disc degenerative damage and pinched nerves. As time passes walking remains more difficult and painful. I am now having surgery to replace a sliding disc and take pressure OFF those nerves. What a huge waste of time and money seeing this DR.

Dr.Farrell is an exceptional doctor and exhibits a very high level of professionalism. He is very easy to talk to and he genuinely cares about his patients. My doctor referred me to Dr. Ainsworth Farrell MD. I had no problem in making an appointment to see Dr. Farrell. I told him about the pain I was having in my neck and shoulder. He started me on some pain meds that just didn’t seem to help. He also had me get an X-ray of my neck. The X-ray showed that I had Arthritis in my neck. Dr. Farrell then started me on a different pain med & Physical Therapy, which has helped. I still have some pain but, not like it was at the beginning. I think he is a very good doctor & wish he could find a cure for Arthritis. My doctor referred me to Dr. Ainsworth Farrell MD. I had no problem in making an appointment to see Dr. Farrell. Fantastic doctor! I had pain in my back for years and within a few visits the pain was nearly gone! The staff is always very friendly and I've never waited more than 10 minutes in the lobby! I've recommended Dr. Farrell to my friends and family!

I recently saw Dr Farrell after L5/SI spinal fusion surgery. He took his time addressing my concerns and seemed to genuinely care about my recovery. His treatment plan is thorough and he seems confident that it will help me in my recovery, which was reassuring for me.

As an 84+ year old I have spent a lot of time with a number with a number of doctors in the past 15 years. New body problems have meant old and new doctor visits with mine exceeding 30-40 in each of the past two to three years. Dr. Farrell and his office staff has made the patient experience far more tolerable. Even though he may have need to move on to his next patient he seems to make sure that he has accomplished his task and heard and answered all the questions that I might be asking.
