I was sent to see Dr Makkar from the VA. Great office staff and easy to get scheduled for an appointment. They had a cancellation and even got me in sooner. The Dr was great. Told me exactly what to expect and put me at ease about the procedure. Got scheduled for the procedure all at the same time. I definitely would recommend Dr Makkar to friends and family.

I felt that my appointments with this doctor were extremely rushed, and his communication was worse than poor because he was always so rushed. I wish that I could give him zero stars. Thankfully I am done with him, and I have found another electrophysiologist with much better communication skills.

Professional care from caring staff.

After years of countless hospital visits, countless cardiologist, and misdiagnosis. I stumbled across Dr Makkar when I went to Arizona heart hospital for an irregular heartbeat. I'll never forget the day I was referred to him leaving the hospital. After a couple tries of meds he offered me an ep study and finally got a diagnosis, such a life changing procedure. I'm so very thankful and blessed that I found such a gifted doctor that actually listened to me and my symptoms. I can't thank Dr Makkar and his team enough for giving me back my life...

I went to Dr. Makkar after losing faith in the team at Biltmore Cardiology who were dismissive of my questions, and told me that the only option to treat my arrhythmia was to completely give up all alcohol or start on blood thinners. Dr. Makkar carefully explained the process of ablations, and after two surgeries, I am free from SVT, atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation. He is thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable, and gave me confidence that he could deliver. Highly recommend Dr. Makkar.

While my initial experience with the physician and his staff were positive and efficient, I was under the impression that the only reason I didn't walk out of the office with an appointment for my ablation procedure was that the person who makes the appointment was temporarily out of reach, and that I would be contacted ASAP by the scheduler. Now a day and a half later I've heard nothing, and the receptionist I spoke with on the phone has told me it can take up to a week to hear back. I wish communication had been better so I wasn't having the extra stress of wondering whether the scheduling was being handled properly or not. Living in a state of active atrial flutter is stressful enough on its own.

Dr Makkar is a kind caring doctor who listens and explains things until the patient understands. As a patient for about 3 and a half years, I trust in his expertise and would explain to anyone how much trust I have in him and why I think he is my doctor. He treats you like a thinking educated adult. He has saved my life.

Dr Makaar is probably the best electro cardiologist I Az . He cured my AFib it been three years without AFib . I can’t thank Dr Markaar . He is a genius that is caring and loving also . I’ve been blessed to have him in my life .

Basically saved my life. Treats me like family. Genuinely cares. Listens to me and considers my wishes. Could not ask for a better Doctor.

Had a good experience/visit with Dr. Makkar and his assistant, Jonathan. Also want to mention that Jonathan took the extra time to answer all my questions in a professional and friendly manner. The only hiccup is that I still have not received a call from their scheduler to schedule my procedure.

Every thing was great.

My questions were answered in detail. My daughter came in and Dr Makkar reviewed the procedure with her as well. She is a seasoned RN.

They worked hard to get me into the early time slot into a hospital to have my procedure and listened to all my concerns

First appointment was fantastic. Great customer service from start to finish. Dr. and staff were all very friendly, thorough but yet quick. Great first impression.

Dr Makkar is brilliant, has an unbelievable memory, and has the best bedside manner, which is rare for a surgeon. He doesn’t seem to be all about the money. He really is an extraordinary doctor. I only wish there was a clone of him for every medical specialty.

Friendly and efficient

Dr. Makkar is AMAZING! We first saw Dr. Makkar in the hospital at Abrazo Heart Hospital two years ago. the first time he met my husband he told us not to give up hope just yet and that just like a car my husband needed a tune up and he would be on his way again. Every Doctor we had seen the four years prior had made us feel hopeless. My husband suffered from a severe arrythmia he could hardly walk from the car to the hospital. A very busy and professional office staff . Everyone keeps active and you never have to just sit and wait...it is great and the doctor is a cutie!

Never have a problem with appointments. Everyone is cordial and efficient. Dr Makkar is an excellent physician and very personable. He explains things and listens to his patients concerns as well.

First of all, we happily drive over two hours each way to our in-office appointments, which speaks volumes about our satisfaction with Dr. Makkar. Upon arrival, and as always, His excellent staff was welcoming and efficient. We were seen promptly, and Dr. Makkar was thoroughly familiar and prepared with data concerning both my husband’s and my current conditions at the time of appointment. A technician was present in the room to electronically scan our hearts, and Dr. Makkar was able to make an instant diagnosis of a condition that had arisen in my husband since our last visit. Using visual technology he thoroughly explained his diagnosis and required in-hospital treatment, which was then immediately scheduled a few days hence. We continue to be amazed by and grateful for Dr. Makkar’s body of knowledge, experience and expertise. He is a stand-out in his field and always considers his patients’ well being as his number one priority. We never have had such trust in a medical professional as we do in him, and he always ensures we are comfortable with and well-informed about our diagnoses and treatment. I arrived late, first time at this medical office and I had difficulty finding it, and they still took me. The staff was absolutely welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly! Dr. Makkar was thorough and answered my questions with care. He knew why I was there, which means he actually took the time to go over my medical records. Dr. Makkar is fabulous!!! He took the time to explain in detail my condition and treatments. His bedside manner was professional and his sense of humor is one of a kind. He's excellent, and I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Best cardiologist I've seen! The staff is always amazing! Doc fully understands my health issues and got me on correct meds.

Dr. Makkar, is a great no-nonsense doctor. He is in and out very quickly but thoroughly. His staff: Joe, Al, Johnathan, Are,, Jax, and receptionist are all so nice and friendly and will spend as much time as needed. I am thankful for this group .

Dr. Makkar and his staff are great, I had two Atrial Ablations done about a year and half ago for Flutter and Tachycardia. Dr. Makkar made me feel very secure in my decision to do the procedures and as of today I haven't had any episodes and have gone on with normal life. Thank you Dr. Makkar you are the best!!!

The staff was great! And efficient. They made me feel that everything would be fine. The procedure went well. I do wish I would have been told even more information like what to expect for the procedure. I was a little surprised. Dr. Makkar was amazing.

I had PVCs for several years and they continued to worsen, seemingly unaffected by medication. I had to give up many activities and my quality of life the last year suffered greatly. I was referred to Dr. Makkar, and he performed two ablation procedures, the second of which was a long difficult procedure because my problem was in a very difficult part of the heart to reach. When I was diagnosed with Afib, Dr. Makkar performed an ablation. When my heart "paused" which is called syncope, he installed a loop recorder and is continuing to monitor my heart. Dr. Makkar is very caring in addition to being a highly regarded, exceptional Electrophysiologist. I trust him 100%. Update!! In just weeks Dr. Makkar genuinely changed my life, my outlook, the hope I have for the future and what I thought was possible with my conditions because he truly invested in me getting better . After genuinely feeling like I had reached an impasse with my conditions, going to doctor after doctor, and mostly accepting being close to totally bed ridden I decided maybe I’ll try one more doctor. So blessed it was him. Dr. Makkar listened and believed me and validated that it wasn’t acceptable for me to just live with my current quality of life. He said we need to treat this. He ordered a medication no one had tried or mentioned, but informed me it would require an appeal to get it covered. They started the appeal that day, he ordered test and monitors and just like that a few weeks later his secretary called and told me they’re now paying for this $600 a month medication which is literally a miracle maker. In only 2 days Corlanor changed my life. I never thought I’d get my life back. I’d already mourned it. I was on 4 meds and Saline infusions 4x a week, home health care and still no relief, rarely left my bed, always felt horrific. I don’t even feel like I’m sick anymore. He gave me my life back and for that I am truly grateful. He and his staff are amazing, smart, kind, efficient and professional. But the best part is that he cares.
