Albert Michael Ong

I would like to start this review by stating that my interactions with the office staff and nurses was great. This review is specific to Dr. Ong. Back in January I was referred by my primary care doctor for further review based on having myopic urinalysis. On the day of my appointment, I gave a sample of urine before meeting the doctor. When the doctor did enter the room, he did not introduce himself or shake my hand. I explained why I was there and the additional symptoms I have been feeling to help narrow down the causes. I asked 4-5 times what could be the possible causes if not a UTI, kidney stones, or STD. Dr. Ong in a nutshell stated that because I’m not in my 80’s and a smoker that this should be no concern. I also learned a lot about his workout regimen that day after stating that having an overactive bladder is one of my symptoms with pain. He found that as an opportunity to disclose he has an overactive bladder after being at the gym completing deadlifts, cleans, and bench presses, which did not answer my question or have anything to do with me. I wish that was the worst part. I called a week later to find out the results of my urine sample, but was told my sample was never sent out that day because the cups used to mail out samples were out of stock. Prior to finding this out, I spoke with two separate people about checking in my results and was told they were not received yet. The day I was told my sample was not sent out and I needed to go back in, the person said the doctor was supposed to notify me that I’d have to come back to give a sample the day of my initial appointment. I cancelled my follow up appointment with this office and had to search for a new doctor, which I won’t be able to see for another month out. I do not recommend this doctor.

My visit with Dr. Ong lasted 5 minutes in total, I know doctors have a busy and tight schedule, but it felt like he didn't take the time to listen to my concerns. He prescribed medications without explaining what they were for, which didn't work. Follow up visit was the same thing, a visit that lasted 5 minutes which ended with him deciding I was okay now even though I said I was still feeling pain. By the time I could get another word out, he was already opening the door and motioning me out of the room. This is just my experience, but definitely won't be coming back.

Dr. Ong is a skilled doctor and was able to resolve my issues. However, I had an incredibly shady experience here in regards to billing. I went in for an appointment and paid my copay. They did some tests and acted as if they were routine parts of the appointment. However, they did not inform me that these were classified as surgical procedures that were going to be additional items invoiced to me and the insurance company. After calling, as usual, the buck was passed to the insurance company because they "dont know whats covered and what isn't". However, they do know that what they're doing is another line item on their bill and neglected to be transparent about it. The next month, I ended up with a surprise bill for surgical procedures. If you want an honest and transparent provider, look elsewhere.

My husband has used Dr. Ong several times, and we've found him to be not only extremely competent, but to also possess a wonderful bedside manner. He is professional yet incredibly warm and kind. Highly recommend.

I have worked with Dr. Ong in surgery as a staff member In Beaumont Texas and hold him in high regard as a man of moral character and good skill sets. A very caring ,intelligent man who continually seeks knew knowledge to improve patient care and out come. He is both a mentor and a servant to the staff he works with. He demands a high expectation of the staff in the O.R. and is kind , and likes to teach. Very academic , I have over 24 years in the O.R. as a military Surgical Tech. I Learned a lot from him.

Dr. Ong did a procedure on me about 5 years ago. His work was great! Now, the same problem has popped up again. I will be using him again.

Dr. Omg took care of my husband, Clifford Raymer from Texas , for many years. We all cried when Dr Omg told us of his leaving the state and headed to Florida. He cured my husband of his cancer. My husband died Dec 23,2012 from pneumonia. He was clear of cancer at this time. Thank you Dr omg for everything you did for Cliff .We both missed you! God bless you! I usually don't review places but please do not go here! I'm serious. I came here saw the doctor he scheduled me to get a ultrasound, came back got one and the ultrasound tech wasn't nice. She pulled and yanked me and was irritated that I wasn't laying right. She didn't do a thorough ultrasound on my kidney because a week before I had my ultrasound here I was at my G.I doctor and he found a 9mm kidney stone which is way to big to pass on it's own. So why didn't Dr. Ong find it.... Disgusting

He was a disaster. He was the worst doctor in my life. His staffs are also the same as him. Go and waste your cash or copay with this horrible guy.
