I've had a lot of bladder, fertility & hormonal issues for years. Been to a slew of drs and no one could diagnose me. After one or two visits with Dr. Joanow, he had me diagnosed and medicated and on the right track. 3 years later and I am experiencing far less symptoms and still continue to see him

I love Dr. Joanow and Dr. Garcia. I didn’t have a regular gynecologist when a bleeding issue arose. Other gynecology offices told me it would take weeks or even months to get an appointment. Dr. joanow saw me the next day, diagnosed my condition within the week and put me in touch with an excellent surgeon/ oncologist who took care of my cancerous condition. Thank you for responding to urgent situations in a prompt and professional matter. I see reviews criticizing his poor bedside manner. All of that means nothing when you have a dangerous health issue!

Visited him in 2020- was forced to talk to him because of birth control which was prescribed by sharon Garcia. Personal Preference not considered. friendly, but was very rude about my pap smear results. ASCUS means abnormal or normal/ unclear. Dr. Joanow used this as a cancer scare when it isn't proof that it is cancer. I refused his treatment because i find the pap very uncomfortable, and if i find the pap uncomfortable then what makes you think i'm going to come back for a colosophy. Also kept sending letters when i said in the original visit that i will call if i have any problems.

Dr. Joanow and Sharon Garcia are beyond AMAZING!! Any situation, you are in good hands with them. You can ask any question and get REAL answers. I’m so happy to have found a place I am confident in and feel so good about. I recommend 100x!!!!!

I have been seeing Dr Joanow for over 24 years. I wouldn't switch for anything. He is very knowledgeable, I haven't seen a moe knowledgable doctor in my almost 60 years. I have not given him an easy time, but he has taken great care of me through out the years. He delivered my daughter, was there with my son, and helped me through a miscarriage. Through good and bad he was there making sure I was taken care of. When it was time for my daughter's to see someone, this is where I took them. He gave them the same excellent treatment. If you want dinnertime who knows what he is doing, and will make sure you are taken care of without dropping the ball, this is where you go. I have been seeing Dr Joanow for over 24 years. Doctor Joanow was my Gyno for a few years before I left the area. I highly recommend him for your gynaecologist needs as he is not only fast but very knowledgeable and can ask him any questions without feeling dumb about said question. The front staff was always nice to me as well I wish he was in my current area as he probably would be #1 in whole island I live on now. Alex is awesome however sharon and staf not so much! I called and left a telephone encounter specifically so the dr or nurse practitioner can return my call...i would have settled for a PA but a medical assistant that is just not okay! I could have waited until end of day to get a call back which is what i expected however it was not okay to have a medical assistant call me when i requested a call back from a DR! This is the first practice i have been to that doesn't have a Dr return your call and i am very dissapointed! Alex is awesome however sharon and staf not so much! Great practice, Dr. Joanow is an excellent and extremely thorough and knowledgeable physician. His staff is very accommodating when scheduling and are always great about following up and communicating.

While he may be a smart clinician, in the year I was his patient I found Dr. Joanow to have a lot of interest in proving to me how smart he was. He seemed to have an agenda to send me to his impressive colleague out of state for invasive procedures. Additionally, his demeanor is dismissive. He recently walked into the exam room to do a Pap smear exam without even making eye contact with me. Watch out for his agenda or philosophy to have any patient over 52 getting their period to have a hysterectomy. I found this paradigm to be incompatible with my holistic approach to my body. If you are having a problem, his demeanor will create additional fear. If you want a doctor who acts like an expert on your body without considering your input, then he’s your guy. I won’t be back, I prefer a reassuring and empowering approach along with clinical skills.

I been Dr. Joanows patient for 4 years & find him to be a very good doctor. He shows much concern & takes time to talk to me & advise me. He's a very busy doctor, because he has a lot of patients. He is a very good doctor!

He was always short with me, made me feel like I had no say in what happened to my body and was rude. Save your money and go somewhere else where the doctor doesn’t make you come in twice for a procedure he decides he doesn’t want to do for you.

My new insurance did not cover the doctor I've been using for years and was referred by an acquaintance to Dr. Joanow. After being rushed to the er twice with rupturing ovarian cysts and endless internal ultrasounds at his office, the doctor decided that I should treated with Lupron which he assured me had little to no side effects. When I expressed concerns, he told me I was being a difficult patient and seemed annoyed that I would dare question him. I have since found another doctor.

Even though I was his patient for over 4 years, he acted as if I was ridiculous to come see about the same issue I had 4 years ago. The first time resulted in a D&C. This time, while training a new Dr, he told me the reason I had been bleeding heavily, (a pad an hour with large clots), was became I am 51 years old and my ovaries are ready to retire but don't know how to get on a plane to Miami.
