Dr. Amilcar Avendano

My husband has been seeing Dr. Avendano for the last 7-8 years and he has been great! Unfortunately one member of his office staff ended that this morning. I called in to reschedule my husband's appointment (which I scheduled last week) and after waiting on hold for 15 minutes, I was rudely informed that I could not do that. I was told that I was not listed on his HIPAA form and could not reschedule his appointment. This lady had the worst attitude when she answered the phone, and it seemed like she went out of her way to make life difficult. Why is it that I could cancel the appointment, but I couldn't reschedule it? Now I know that I am the one that has scheduled every single doctors appointment for this man for the last 10 years as well as filled out all patient paperwork for him. I have never had an issue with Dr. Avendano's office or any other physician my husband has seen. So due to this one person's attitude, we will no longer be using Dr. Avendano as my husband's cardiologist. I found a new doctor this morning whose office had no problem speaking with me and allowing me to schedule him an appointment.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Avendano. He is a kind and caring man, and is deeply invested in the care and health of his patients. He has been my husband's doctor for years, and our total trust in his judgement has been validated many times.

Dr. Avendano is an excellent doctor and saved my life when I was in cardiac arrest. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of cardiovascular treatment.

Amazing Doctor! Highly qualified and well credentialed as well as extremely caring. He treated my Mother with the utmost compassion and his diagnosis and treatment protocol was spot on...Would not trust any other Cardiologist after seeing him.

When UHC Insurance would not approve a catheterization procedure to find an artery blockage, Dr Avendano went to bat for me contacting the carrier doctors directly by phone. Two days later he found two blocked arteries at 100% and 90%, and inserted stents to repair. He saved my life.

Dr. Avendano has saved my life twice . You could not find a doctor that is so caring.

He saved my husband. He had to have 2 stints put in because of a massive heart attack. Wonderful doctor. He is now my husband's cardiologist.

THE BEST AND WISEST CARDIOLOGIST OF HOUSTON TX/Spring.

Dr. Amilcar Avendano is one of the best physicians I have met. His compassion for his patients is amazing! I had an awful episode with my health and he did everything possible to help me and is continuing to help.

My mother has been following up with him for over 10 years seriously the best doctors!!! May the lord continue using to save life’s!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Avendano for over 10 years. He is a wonderful doctor with the best bed time manners of any doctor I've seen in a long time. He was also my Mom's doctor and is my husband's doctor. We all have great respect for him.

This man is an amazing doctor. He is MY doctor. I highly recommend anyone needing a heart doctor to consider going to see him. He has an outstanding bedside manner.

Dr.Avendano one of the few physicians I feel warrants five stars. Not only is he a skilled cardiologist he is also compassionate and listens. Never rushed and he gives you his full attention with a smile. He was instrumental in saving my 96 year old mother when others failed her. He has been my cardiologist since moving back to Texas and can unequivocally recommend him and I have to many friends.

I have never met a Doctor so caring about his patient as he does. His always has a smile on his face, he can't always feel that good but he keeps smiling . There is no Doctor , that I know of with his conviction. I think he should hold classes for other Doctors , of coarse I know with all the patients he has he doesn't have time. Have a BLESSED DAY !

My mother had a heart attack in the middle of the night, we called 911 and arrived at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, at 2:45am we were met by Dr. Avendano.I knew him and we immediately recognized each other and he assured me he would take great care of my Mom. My mother's physicians are in the Texas Medical Center, and initially we wanted to be transferred right away.His calmness and his compassion immediately made me know we were in great hands, we are now seeing him instead of going to TMC.
