Dr. Newman has been my pulmonologist for 17 years, and has been terrific. I developed COPD when I got pneumonia 17 years ago, and he has gradually increased my lung capacity to the point that I have been able to climb Kilimanjaro (19,000') , as well as several 14,000' mountains (and I"m 70 years old). He is thorough, reasonable, always available, and explains things well. If you have serious lung issues, he's the doc you need. He is compassionate, extremely smart and well versed in his disciplines of pulmonology, space, and diving medicine, as well as computer science. He takes the time to answer questions and listens very well. His PA is top notch as is the office staff. I have been his patient for 40 years. He is well published and an associate professor of respiratory medicine a Stanford University Medical Center. I trust Dr. Newman implicitly.
