In my 66 years I've moved a lot, and seen a LOT of dentists. I thought a certain level of pain and discomfort was just part of the process. I can handle a high level of pain, and usually just put up with it, but I don't like it. Dr. Tenholder is truly painless. She numbs the surface of the area the needle will go into, and then tugs your lip with one hand while smoothly inserting the needle with the other. (Imagine the skill it takes to do that!?) THAT is the single most important skill. Everything else is secondary! I told her I don't want anyone but her to ever put a needle in my mouth. Her support staff is amazingly competent. Her procedures and science are world-class. (Truly! She is the head of a major dental science organization.) She explains things in great detail, and then if I still have trouble understanding, she says, "Well that tooth is jealous and wants to be like the ones beside him." Oh! Okay, I can understand that! Dr. Tenholder and her team are highly specialized in the field of dentistry. Their wholistic approach to patient care has proven to help our child not only with his oral health and teeth alignment but especially with a host of crucial functionalities. While some of these lacking functionalities may have gone unnoticed by us as parents and even by previous medical professionals, Dr. Tenholder elucidated us on the vitality of these functionalities and endowed us with hope in our child's ability to attain better quality of life and optimal health. Her brilliant scientific mind steeped in anatomical and physiological expertise is uncannily matched by her intuitive artistry of the mouth. Dr. Tenholder customizes a plan for each patient to optimize neurotransmission essential to the swallow reflex, breathing, sleep quality, balance, mood regulation, and speech production, to name a few. In our child's case, this has positively impacted his overall health, speech intelligibility, and self-confidence. In addition to seeing marked improvements in all these areas, our child's congenital fascia tightness has improved by leaps and bounds. We are so pleased with our son's progress that we have entrusted Dr. Tenholder to design a wholistic orthodontic plan for our daughter as well. We gladly drive the two hours it takes to get to her office and easily understand why some of her patients fly from across the country to receive such expert care.

It’s been a few years since I left this dentist and I’m still suffering the consequences of her poor work. She gave me a root canal that still hurts everyday. Two dentists have directed me to a root canal specialist to fix it, when they press up high on my gums it hurts and they say it’s a nerve that’s inflamed from that root canal. I also had one of the crowns she put in fall out shortly after while out at dinner. She talks on and on and seems so knowledgeable and nice which is why I stayed too long but wish I hadn’t. What finally made me leave was when she recommended a 6K orthodontic device be placed at the roof of my daughters mouth. She charged several hundred just to evaluate my daughter for this. I then took my daughter to an orthodontist who evaluated her for free, and told me she couldn’t figure out why the device had been recommended as she didn’t see any need for it. The orthodontist also recommended we have the spacer the dentist put in removed ASAP. This because if it was

They do a fantastic and thorough job with each visit. Take great care to listen and treat both me and my children. Often not the most timely of appointments. I’d rather wait for quality service and care though, than a prompt appointment.

Dr. Angie Tenholder is a master at the craft of dentistry and body function. Her services are unmatched by any other provider. She has been amazing with my personal dental dysfunction, and has been equally amazing in finding functional solutions with my three boys dentistry needs as well. She has worked diligently to correct skull and body disfunction that resulted from traditional orthodontics and the use of a palatal expander. Her approach to your dental needs is holistic. I was taken back for my appointment before I even sat down in the waiting room. I have been going to this office for years before they moved to Columbia. They took the time to build a rapport with her, especially the Dental Hygienist and the Dentist. Nicole is also great and provides muscle tension release with Oralase Laser Treatment, which is outstanding for my 5 year old who just had her tongue tie released last year. Such a great Holistic approach to Dentistry. After one Oralase Laser Treatment, my daughter whom over a year still could not touch the roof of her mouth after tongue tie release could do this now with ease. I could also tell she just felt better overall and had more energy and slept great at night. So glad I found them through the recommendation of our family chiropractor.

I am a very nervous dental patient. I have overcome my fear of going to the dentist by the professionalism and warm friendly atmosphere of Dr. Tenholder's office. Dr. Tenholder is absolutely the most qualified dentist I have ever gone to. She is state of the art. She is so proactive with teaching, as well as, her entire staff. I feel that I am in excellent hands for all my dental needs. The dental assistants listen to my request for topical anesthetic to be applied prior to dental cleanings in an order to make me feel more comfortable and less nervous. This is definitely a 5 star dentist. Her office is so warm and inviting. It puts me at ease the moment I walk through the door.

This office is amazing! There are no offices in the area that are more well equipped to work with children on proper oral function and it’s effect on the healthy development of that whole child — neurologically, emotionally, physically, etc. I am a Chiropractor that specializes in pediatrics and I will continue bringing my daughter to this office as well as sending patients here!

This office always provides excellent dental care. The only complaint I would have is that I have always had to wait past my appointment time. I understand this is a medical office and that things happen. However, I have had to wait over 30 minutes several times and that is a problem with scheduling. This is easily solved and the quality of service is the most important thing.

Arrived in plenty of time for my 11:30 Appt. Was expecting to have all of the services (2 quadrants) cleaned as scheduled. Granted, my BP was a bit high prior to treatment which added a bit of time. Yet, that extra time was negated by the delay in which I was brought into the treatment room. Then, I am told that there was not enough time to complete the 2nd quadrant of cleaning. I do not live 5-15 across town in which I have the convenience & flexibility to reschedule, whenever. Part of me is believing that the second quadrant was not cleaned due to me stating that I would pay half today & the balance 2 days later (Weds the 10th). My reason for that is it was my desire to pay cash (via debit card) & at the time of appointment, sufficient funds were not available in that specific account to do so, without moving funds around. Could have paid in full with credit card (which I used anyway to pay) until more funds arrived and moved things around. Why did you wait until the morning of the appointment to provide me with the cost for this procedure? I did not see it until later that afternoon. If I had enough forewarning, then I would have taken appropriate steps to have it all settled upon my arrival. Lastly, Amanda was most professional in her treatment.

I don't normally provide on-line reviews, simply because they are typically just a venue for passive aggressive people to attack people behind internet anonymity. With that said, I have been going to Dr. Tenholder for over 12 years, and never had a negative result with the quality of care. There is a little too much cross talk for my taste, but I also know it’s a destressing technique some dentist use. You should know that she is the ultimate perfectionist, don't go to her for a quick fix.

I called the office in the morning with a problem with a tooth. I had a tooth that cracked and I was having issues. the young lady at the front desk talk to the doctor she she was able to squeeze me in at the end of the day. The doctor and her lovely staff have always went Above and beyond to make myself and my family's experience at the office enjoyable. I would just like to take the time to think the doctor and her staff for everything that they do PS I will bring your Gorilla Glue back at the next visit.

2 hours for only xrays is way to long. even with discount plan cost of care is too expensive for people on medicare to afford wondering if discount program is really worth the money we spent. Office people are very nice to deal with. thank you for your time.

3 yrs later and experiencing previously non-existent symptoms which seem to be related to Dr. Tenholder’s work. If you choose to take a number in her office PLEASE RESEARCH her rhetoric and ask her DIRECT questions amidst her ‘word-soup’ approach to modalities and proposed care plan. I didn’t ask enough questions. Wolf in sheeps clothing metaphor applies when dealing with her and select individuals in her employ. I would not trust her opinions, or her recantations of past patient’s experiences.

The facility is clean, stylish and inviting. Staff are warm, friendly, and respectful. More importantly they possess a high level of clinical competence and knowledge. They provide in office state-of-the-art technology, which assist Dr. Tenholder and her staff in delivering the best dental health for my husband and I. Dr. Tenholder comprehensive clinical training, knowledge and expertise is an asset to the residents of Columbia. I knew I needed to have some major work done but I HATE going to the dentist. My experiences have always been extremely uncomfortable at best. My friend, Lani, recommended Synergy. My initial appointment confirmed that I needed a good deal of work. Scheduling an appointment was simple and they were clear about what I would need to pay. I highly recommend the SmileSavers discount plan. I had a LARGE cavity on my front tooth! Needless to say I was extremely nervous! Peace and Calming essential oil, weighted pillows, a generous aunt, a calm and talented dentist, and a whole lot of Jesus made this appointment amazing. I had absolutely no pain! My before-and-after pictures say it all. You can't even tell that I had work done! They had a busy morning scheduled but I never felt rushed. Dr. Angie was terrific! I feel compelled to leave a review in support MY dentist. I see three other written reviews all from other parts of the county... who goes to the dentist far from home? Anyway, she has been a great Dentist and her staff is great!

Service is always good. This time Dr. Tenholder, Abby, and Erin were all wonderful. Only problem I had was communication on delivery of the dentures. I expected more than normal service, which was due to my inability to cope with being without teeth. I appreciate everything everyone did to get them back to me in a reasonable time. Thanks. I've been going to Dr. Angie for nearly 25 years for all my (and my family's') dental needs. She always provides a comfortable/professional atmosphere where it's almost a pleasure to get dental work done. I had not been to the dentist in years. Nothing was wrong, but realizing they're right there in 10 South, I figured I might as well do it. They were great. Friendly, and efficient, they did my cleaning and a checked by blood pressure as a courtesy. Everyone was so friendly, they remember who you are - rather nice when you're walking into their office, even greeting you by name. Just really nice.

This experience was a nightmare!! The office staff is rude not helpful at all. They made me wait weeks for an appointment and then told me that she would not be doing any dental work on my teeth. She said she was going to refer me to someone else. Please be warned ...I would not take my dog to this office.

I have been seeing Dr. Angie for over 20 years. She was able to get me over my great fear of dentists. The office staff always treats you like you are their only patient. It would be hard to find a better dentist than Dr. Angie, a better hygienist than Amanda, or a more wonderful staff than in this office.

Synergy Dental is awesome. The staff is very kind and professional. They make you feel right at home. Dr. Tenholder is wonderful. She's very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything and answer any questions. We drive 5 1/2hrs one way to visit. Will continue visiting and telling all our acquaintances about Synergy Dental.
