Dr. Ayesha Akbar

Dr.Akbar has been my doctor and my husband and boys doctor for 20 years! She has caught every issue we gave ever had. Every mystery illness has been caught by her. She had literally saved my sons life twice. Don’t think twice, she knows what she is doing.

I went to Dr. Akbar to learn more about an endocrine related medical diagnosis that I received. Let me start by saying I have worked in private practice medical offices so I tend to give a lot of slack when things aren't going well. I waited about 45-50 minutes to be seen by Dr. Akbar but again I know doctors get behind schedule so this didn't really phase me. Then her CNA called me back to take my medical history. She was very nice but it was very clear she was inexperienced and seemed a bit confused, I tried to just assume maybe she was new and again not let it phase me. Then Dr. Akbar came in to ask why I was there, it was abundantly clear she had not bothered to look at my chart, but I figured maybe it's because she was behind. I explained that I was hoping to speak to her since she specializes in endocrinology and to learn more about the causes of my diagnosis and ways to prevent further progression. She immediately was annoyed and told me that I should just "google it" because that's the best way to find information these days. I'm sorry but in this day and age I know everyone googles everything but I specifically went there for her specialist medical opinion and the fact that she couldn't be bothered to take the time to explain my diagnosis was beyond shocking and upsetting. Every time I asked a question or was speaking, she was very curt and rude in her responses. We ended the visit with her telling me a potential medication but said that I should "google it" to decide if I want to take it. It's very clear this doctor has no interest in helping her patients. I went with such high hopes since many reviews were good but please do NOT waste your time seeing Dr. Akbar. I never leave negative reviews because most of the time I try to assume the best in people. But people need to know that Dr. Akbar is NOT worth seeing. She legitimately told me I should "google" my questions that I asked her and that I should "google" a medication she offered to decide if I want to take it. I went to her to get a medical opinion from someone who specializes in the endocrinology field and the best she could do was to tell me to "google it". If I wanted to "google it" I would have done that instead of wasting my time/money in her office. I'm just beyond disappointed. Clearly this doctor has no wish to actually help patients. Save your time and money and find someone else.

Dr. Akbar is wonderful. Instead of pushing a bunch of pills she looked at the root causes of my issues and treated me with vitamins, minerals and only 1 prescription. Instead of throwing pills at me she got me back on track with what my body needed naturally. I can’t say enough good things about her. I would highly recommend her!

Terrible. She didn't even know you are supposed to balance out estrogen with progesterone until after my second round of BioTe pellets. Won't take Care Credit, either, unless your costs is over $1,000 even though Care Credit says the minimum is $400. She told me, in the waiting room before getting my second round of BioTe pellets, that I was going to get cancer if I didn't get a hysterectomy. Last I checked, Dr. Akbar, you're not a gynecologist. I gained a lot of weight on BioTe. When I told her I was still working out virtually every day and not over-eating, she interrupted me and said she's not a nutritionist. She kept upping my thyroid meds (which I don't know if I ever needed in the first place) and my hair started shedding really badly. Bottom line, she really doesn't know what she's doing.

Staff is nice and satisfied with services.

I had my first visit today & was very satisfied. The Staff & Dr Akbar were all very friendly, kind and patient. They understood my issues and did not judge, they showed they care for me as a person. Dr Akbar gave me direction on what can be done to help me feel better & I finally feel like there's hope to resolving my symptoms by addressing the root cause. I have been seeing Dr Akbar for years for my thyroid. She is a great doctor. Very caring and helpful. Would highly recommend.

I started seeing Dr Akbar over 7 years ago for my thyroid. I am so thankful I did. I was in my mid 40s and had gained quite a bit of weight suddenly. I was starving myself & exercising & couldn't lose a pound. Dr Akbar helped me by tweeking my thyroid medicine & hormone replacement. I lost quite a bit of weight and can now eat. Only cares about money. Doesn’t care about you as a person. Beware!

Stay as far away as possible from this physician. She will not be concerned about your condition unless there is a paycheck attached to it.

Extremely disappointed with this doctor. I saw her for a year and a half before I decided not to go back. Way more concerned with getting paid than with actually helping you. She will hold your medications hostage (even things like birth control!) if you have to reschedule your appointment. Doesn't help that her hours are not convenient at all if you work a M-F 9-5 job. I think she made my hormones worse by putting me on medications and then refusing to refill the scripts if I had to reschedule my appointment. She also pushes the supplements that are sold in her office, claiming they're more effective than the ones from the store. Yea right. She's also extremely condescending when talking to you. Now in the process of trying to find a doctor that actually wants to help and won't mess with my birth control and medications I've been on for years. Extremely disappointed with this doctor. Dr. Akbar takes care of my entire family! She has found every medical problem we all have for the last 12 years! We have tried all top docs st top hospitals and she has so much more knowledge! Also on vitamins and weight! I must have sent at least 50 people I know and she has found all the issues that other docs couldn't find! Highly recommend so you don't have to keep going to other docs who don't know what they are doing! Get those thyroid a checked! I suffered for years now I feel great!

She is great. She has no staff. You wait and wait. No phone calls to you are returned for days. Unless you are prepared to ask all your questions don't expect them to .ca you.

This doctor was not very informative, tried giving me medication I didn’t need and was very rude and short with me when j would try to ask questions. Definitely would not recommend!

Super long waits - nurse is VERY unpersonable - Dr. lacks empathy or ability to communicate effectively!!!!!!

Dr. Akbar and Dr. Asadullah make a great team. I look 5-10 years younger. They took the time to answer my questions and concerns. Their collaboration towards accomplishment of my goals was outstanding. Thank you - Will be back again
