I can not say enough good things about Dr. Nguyen. He is the only doctor who has truly listened to my concerns as a patient.Dr Nguyen has been my family’s doctor for the past few years. He is very attentive and detailed! :)

I would highly recommend Dr. Nguyen to everyone. He has excellent bedside manners and truly cares about his patients. I’ve been searching for many years to find the right doctor who could diagnose and treat my health issues correctly and Dr. Nguyen was the one who has treated all my symptoms. Dr. Nguyen is a caring doctor who really takes his time to explain conditions and treatment plans to his patients. "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." While there are many great doctors out there, what separates Dr. Bao Nguyen is his genuine care for his patients. For years, I only go to the doctor when there's a health issue. And then I never come back! My last doctor visit was 4 years ago. I recently went to see Dr. Nguyen for an overall physical exam because he reminded me that prevention is better than cure. And it's true! I have friends and relatives who have healthy lifestyles but when they finally had to go to the doctor it was too late. If you truly care about those that you love, you should care for yourself and make sure you're healthy! I'm going to keep going back to Dr. Nguyen because he's very thorough, extremely friendly and ultimately he cares about your well-being! I highly recommend giving Dr. Nguyen a try! He's different than many practitioners out there.

I went to Dr Nguyen 90 days ago with an A1C off the chart to a 5.5. My blood pressure was 160/112. Now it’s 110/70. Great Dr.

Can't rate him high enough. Dr. Nguyen is absolutely the best doctor I have ever had. I have been going to him for maybe 15 years now, and will continue to follow him wherever he practices - distance is no concern. That's pretty much what you do when someone literally saves your life. He has a tireless curiosity and approaches diagnosis with a very open mind. You absolutely want that in a doctor (and I get to be here to write this because of that). You want someone who stays up to date and leverages their experience with new information and doesn't make snap assumptions or take things for granted. He listens to what you tell him, even if you’re not great at describing it (which I’m often not) but he is very patient and finds a way to figure out what you actually mean. Dr. Nguyen has been my primary care physician for at least 15 years and I would/will follow him anywhere. He always takes whatever time you need and you never feel like you’re being rushed. He is very thorough. I appreciate that he prefers to do bloodwork ahead of the appointment, which them provides the opportunity for him to discuss the lab results in detail when you have the actual appointment. I am sorry for this one star review. this review is more related to their billing practice and experience nothing about Dr Bao Nguyen. I sent my son to this doctor by seeing so many good review. I am having nightmare experience with their billing department. Billing department has charged some wrong charge code which is no longer correct. I have been spending number of hours calling insurance company, billing department and doctor office. My Insurance company already called their billing department multiple times and gave correct charge code. When I spoke to billing department they told me they can not correct until it is instructed by Terresa from doctor office. I called Terresa and gave her insurance company number. after few hour she confirmed she has correct code and will resubmit with correct code. After few week I receive again same invoice. I called insurance company and they told billing department has yet not corrected this code and they kept me on hold and they call billing department again and gave correct charge code to Maria. I informed this later to Terresa again at doctor office. While I am waiting to hear back from Terresa today I receive letter as it will be sent to collection agency. I am ready to pay if billing department correct their mistake and submit claim with correct charge code. you just don't threaten patient with collection agency without correcting your mistake. Dr Nguyen has been our family doctor for over a decade. He has an eye for detail and always does further testing if anything is slightly out of range. He is very compassionate about his patients and never made us feel rushed.

Dr. Nguyen is my primary care physician and I feel lucky to have found him. He doesn’t rush through his appointment with you and he is kind and and friendly and I always enjoy my visits with him. I’m going to stay with him until he retires!

Dr. Nguyen is amaizing! I've been seeing him since I moved here from California seven year ago and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Nguyen is extremely attentive and very caring towards his patients. I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

Dr. Nguyen is an awesome doctor with a great bedside manner who really cares for his patients. Years ago I found a lump on my knee. I went to a doctor I had been seeing and he sent me only a note via postal mail saying it was just a lipoma (mass of fat). My wife said “you are going to see my doctor”. She took me to Dr. Nguyen. He examined it and did not think it was a lipoma. He he ordered tests and sent me to specialist and found that it was a rare form of cancer that attacks soft tissue and cartilage. It is so rare that it is usually only found on accident. Dr. Nguyen took care of everything. He got the team together that treated me, got the doctor and team that performed the surgery, and the physical therapy after surgery. I have been cancer free for about ten years and Dr. Nguyen has been my doctor ever since. I would recommend Dr. Nguyen to anyone who is looking for a great doctor! I don’t care who Dr. Nguyen send me to for follow ups or special treatment. I can trust in his diagnosis and he is the doctor for me and my wife. I have been going to Dr. Nguyen for many years and have followed him from different practices. I’m a strong believer that if you find a really good doctor, you stick with them even if the location isn’t exactly convenient. He is patient, kind, knowledgeable and really takes time to listen to all your concerns. Never does he make you rushed in this “drive thru” medical mentality era. He really is a great guy and truly cares about his patients and will follow up with you. Trust me when I say, I am not the easiest patient, meaning medically but Dr. Nguyen is not only very through, you can tell he truly loves what he does by helping people get better. Dr Nguyen Bao has been my family physician since 2004 when he was practicing at Generations Family Practice in Reston VA. Dr Bao is an exceptional family doctor who patiently LISTENS all medical conditions and never in hurry to finish the visit. He cares every patient's as a his own family member which is why we continue to see him for last 17 years. Dr Bao moved to a practice in McLean for couple of years and due to the distance where I live I couldn't see him for 2 years. Dr. Nguyen was my GP in Reston VA. He diagnosed Lyme and treated me with the proper amounts of two antibiotics for a period of about 90 days, in 2012; I pulsed both of them in order to wait and see if symptoms were going to come back. Dr. Nguyen is a very caring doctor with great bed-side manner, and is also very skilled. At my last physical he detected a very small nodule on my thyroid and referred me for an ultrasound and consultation with a thyroid specialist. I ended up having surgery to remove part of my thyroid because of a strong suspicion by the specialist that it was cancerous based on testing that had been performed. I was lucky enough for it to NOT be cancer, so I am very relieved - and am also very grateful to Dr. Nguyen for his thoroughness in detecting what could have easily been cancer and caused issues if not caught early. Dr. Nguyen is the doctor I'd been looking for my entire life. He literally saved my life when another doctor prescribed a blood pressure medication which caused my blood sodium to plummet to a level where I could easily have had a stroke. I was dizzy and light headed for what seemed to be no reason. I looked just fine, but Dr. Nguyen listened to all of my concerns and put me through a series of thorough tests to determine what the problem was. I had to go to the hospital for the weekend and have a sodium drip bag attached to my arm with an IV, but I was out of the danger zone quickly thanks to Dr. Nguyen. Every time I've ever had a concern, he listens. He believes me. He cares about me. And he's incredibly thorough and competent. His bed side manner is incredible, and I couldn't recommend him more highly!

Dr. Bao Nguyen saved my life. Twice. He correctly found massive chronic clots in my leg (DVT) and got me to the hospital within hours where a wire filter was installed to prevent a clot induced stroke. Some years later he discovered my prostate cancer, and initiated confirmation then treatment early enough to prevent criticality. How does he do it? I started seeing Dr. Nguyen at his prior practice after having not seeing a GP in many years. He is personable, listens and answer questions without regard to time, and is focused on both long term health as well as the reason for my visit.

My family and I have followed Dr. Nguyen through several practices, even paying for concierge service at one point just to stay with him. He is thorough and has a great bedside manner...the combination of which is sometimes elusive. I highly recommend him to anyone in the area!

Dr. Bao Nguyen is the best family doctor I have ever had in my life. It has been since 2007. A very thorough doctor that leaves nothing to chance or unknown.

I first visited Dr. Nguyen when I was experiencing some strange symptoms. I had numbness on the left side of my face, arm, and leg. They took my blood pressure which was VERY high, somewhere near 210/100. He immediately left the room and returned with a blood pressure drug and told me to take it. I did and my pressure started to come down. He ran many tests, and booked me immediate appointments for a CT scan and with a cardiologist. Fortunately everything came back fine, and I only had a severe sinus infection. But if I hadn't gone to see him and if he hadn't put me on the blood pressure meds, I would probably not be writing this today. I credit him with saving my life on that one. I also recently saw him as a follow up visit after I went to an "urgent care" facility. I had a moderate concussion and they didn't follow any proper concussion protocols in their recommendations other than to say to follow up with my primary doctor. My symptoms started to get worse and I went to see Dr. Nguyen. He examined me and said that he didn't think I had any problems or bleeds in my brain BUT he said, to be sure, I should get an MRI. I went to get the MRI and they pulled me out of the machine and told me they had spoken to Dr. Nguyen and he said that I had to IMMEDIATELY go to the hospital. Turned out I had two subdural hematomas. Again, if he hadn't ordered imaging, I may have died because of that. He also recommended the proper concussion protocols which included no screentime or television. The urgent care said nothing about that. Dr. Nguyen is thorough and is not above ordering additional tests or referring you to a specialist. I've gone to the specialists he has recommended each time and have been extremely pleased with their services. If you need a friendly family doctor, who also cares about his patients and goes the extra mile, I'd highly recommend Dr. Nguyen. Dr Nguyen is everything that I could hope for from a doctor. He listens, empathizes, and takes time to make sure I have a comprehensive understanding of whatever is going on. He treats you like family. I trust him completely.

Dr. Nguyen is a kind person and he cares about patient outcomes. I have health challenges and he helped me navigate the process of selecting and working with specialists over the past few years. I followed him from his previos practice, because great doctors are hard to find. One specific thing I appreciate is that Dr. Nguyen will discuss doubts about a course of treatment. For example, I tend to do a lot of research on my own and he listens and considers my POV, but will also help me balance that information with best practice for my condition. I've been going to Dr. Nguyen for the past few years after being referred to him from a friend. He is incredibly thorough, takes his time in answering any questions I may have and makes me feel like his patient instead of just someone in a queue for "fast food" health treatment. Dr. Nguyen is a great Doctor. This Doctor is the first Doctor that I have been to that listens to me. He doesn't talk over me. When I arrive at his office I am anxious and not feeling well. He takes his time and does a thorough exam and listens to your symptoms and puts a plan together. He describe the treatment in detail so you can understand it. Once finished he goes over everything we have talked about and ask me is there anything else I need. When we are finished all of my needs and concerns are taking care of and I leave his office with a since security and relief. It's really nice when you have a doctor that cares. Wow...where to begin. I have been seeing Dr. Nguyen for many years and have followed him from different practices. I’m a strong believer that if you find a really good doctor, you stick with them even if the location isn’t exactly convenient. He is the best GP and I have seen many. He is patient, kind, knowledgeable and really takes time to listen to your concerns. Never does he make you rushed in this “drive thru” medical mentality era. Dr. Nguyen has been our family's doctor for many years now, and I feel lucky to be able to write that. Dr. Nguyen is a wonderful physician - knowledgeable, comprehensive and empathetic. Doctor visits can be inherently stressful, and yet Dr. Nguyen creates such a warm atmosphere that the dread recedes. Highly, highly recommended.

My family followed Dr Bao Nguyen when he changed practices, and the reasons are many. He CARES for his patients. He takes time to get to know each one and their families. When you have an issue, he doesn’t settle for the easy answer. He gets to the bottom of your problem. Had it not been for his persistence, I would likely be a widow right now, and my future grandchildren would never know their Papa. In my opinion, he is one of the few top notch physicians in this area from bedside manor to healed patients.

I followed Dr. Nguyen out from his former practice in McLean and I'm glad I did. He's thorough, compassionate, and very human. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had a very good experience with the front office staff and the nurse I saw before seeing Dr. Nguyen. Very long drive to get out to the new location from my home inside the beltway, but worth it.

Follow up on a annual physical visit. Dr. Nguyen listened to all my concerns and addressed them. He is keen on me getting necessary follow ups with specialists promptly. I have been Dr. Nguyen's patient for over a decade. He is very skilled, caring and patient.

Love this guy. He really listens and is interested in the whole person. On one occasion while doing work on one family member, he diagnosed and recommended treatment for another member, based on a clear understanding of family history and recent travel. He has thoughtful views about the latest forms of medical treatment, but supports our ability to make our own decisions and always takes the time to explain options. We literally trust our lives to Dr. Nguyen. Great staff too.

Dr Nguyen and his staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. I never feel rushed, all of my concerns are dealt with. It is clear to me that Dr Nguyen cares a great deal about his patients.
