About Barry Ripps
Reviews for Barry Ripps
My experience with Dr Ripps was very cold and uncaring, essentially telling my husband and I that we had no hope of conceiving our own genetic child. I left the office in tears my final visit there . Thankfully my husband and I conceived a child on our own within months after. Based on our experience with him, I do not recommend using them.

Can’t believe the attitude of Tracy M. Dr Ripps was thorough and gave her sound medical advice. She just got lucky! Tracy M should be overjoyed with that baby, but instead she sounds ungrateful and hateful. People are just CRAZY. (She also seems to have a bunch of negative things to say about several physicians locally) I’m grateful every day to Dr Ripps and his great staff at NewLIFE. I was 41 at delivery. Endometriosis Stage 2, low AMH & 30lbs overweight (until I finally listened to Dr. Ripps). Dr. Ripps & his staff were definitely my cheerleaders. Shame on Tracy M. Update: After trying for 11 months (including 2 IUI rounds) my husband and I were pregnant the FIRST CYCLE after taking antibiotics. We are currently 8 weeks pregnant. All it took was a round of doxycycline (to treat my Ureaplasma infection) and a round of Augmentin (to treat my husband's E. Coli). The only other change was that I had received a round of Intralipid Infusions at Sacred Heart (to treat my high natural killer cell count). We had a positive pregnancy test before we even had the results of being retested for our infections! It's clear NewLIFE does not believe infections or Natural Killer Cells can play a role in infertility from their response, but for us it was the answer to conceiving naturally after a year of trying and heartbreak. Our new fertility Doctor does not believe IVF would have been successful with our infections. If you've been diagnosed with 'unexplained infertility' please find a way to be tested for uncommon infections. We are so glad we trusted our gut! Best of luck to all! ____ I am sure Dr. Ripps and his staff have helped many couples conceive. My husband and I unfortunately were not one of them. We had approached NewLIFE to freeze sperm prior to my husband's deployment in hopes of doing IUI while he was away. Strike one was when I received a call the day after he left for deployment that the sperm had been 'lost'. I can not even begin to describe the emotional pain this caused both of us. This did not seem to be a common occurrence in the office and we wrote it off as an unfortunate mistake and only wanted to move forward. The second strike was when Dr. Ripps ordered an HSG test for me without checking for STD's or infections. Three weeks after the invasive procedure I was in the ER with pain in my abdomen I had never had before. In reading online, not only should I definitely been tested for STD's and other infections prior to an HSG, but most fertility doctors prescribe antibiotics for an HSG test to prevent spread of infections into the uterus. I would later learn I had a very common STD with no symptoms that moved into my uterus during the HSG test. After two rounds of failed IUI, we basically were encouraged to start IVF even though Dr. Ripps 'could not find anything wrong'. When I mentioned in my last appointment that I had a friend test positive for Ureaplasma and a high level of Natural Killer Cells and asked if I should be tested for these types of things, it was quickly rejected. As we were contemplating IVF, I inquired on any additional testing we should do prior to spending thousands of dollars and invasive surgery and I received no response. Strike three. We definitely felt that unless we wanted to do IVF, he was uninterested in helping us figure out our unexplained infertility. I had been listening to the audiobook 'Making Babies' by Dr. Sami David and encourage anyone seeking fertility help to read the book or listen to the audiobook. I only made it through a few chapters before I scheduled a skype appointment. We had been seeing Dr. Ripps for almost a year and he 'couldn't find anything wrong'. After one skype call with Dr. David in NYC and completing the labs he ordered, we learned of THREE infections (non STD) in my husband's semen (E. Coli and Enterococcus) and I (Ureaplasma) with ZERO symptoms. All infections could cause infertility and were all quickly treated with antibiotics. Please do not assume that if you have a normal PAP smear or an 'A+' basic semen analysis that infections are not present! I was also tested for Natural Killer Cells and had an elevated level which can cause infertility and early miscarriage. PLEASE read this book as I hope it helps more people! It has changed our journey beyond words. All our misfortunes aside, the staff at NewLIFE were incredible. Dr. Ripps was great up until I started asking on additional testing or next steps prior to IVF. Bridget, Kelly and Stacey were always so positive and nice to us. We greatly appreciate that during a difficult time! I wish anyone reading this good luck in their journey! Success on the first round ???????? Nice staff too
I started my journey in September of 2018. The entire staff is kind and so helpful! Even during hard times they never gave up on me. I am currently expecting twins and would recommend New Leaders in Fertility to anyone looking for help starting their family!
Horrible Bed Side Manner, did not bother to find out my health issues just wanted to take our money and make a baby. No baby, lots of money wasted.
I started working with Dr. Ripps and his staff in the Summer of 2018. While my husband and I only met with him once and he laid our fertility plan during that one visit; his staff is absolutely amazing. There is not enough compensation in the world for what they do and how they do it. Battling infertility has such a wide range of emotions and going to see a caring provider makes all the difference especially if you get disappointing news. We had gone to another fertility clinic here in Tallahassee and they were good, but just decided to try somewhere else after 3 IUI's and 2 miscarriages. New Life reviewed our prior attempts and reproduction history and made a plan and I'm extremely happy to say with their help the first IUI that we did with them was a success and I gave birth to a bouncing baby boy this past June. Was the fertility plan pricey-maybe, but the joy that we have when we look at him is priceless!!
Dr. Ripps very rudely told me that only healthy bodies ever want to be pregnant, and that until I lost a minimum of 70 lbs he would not help me get pregnant. I was devastated. I will not be going back to see them. Also, I only met the man twice, through out my entire process there. I am very disappointed in the care I received during my time at that office. I wanted to give this place an opportunity to redeem themselves. My wife scheduled an appointment on the 11th for the 22nd. She received a confirmation call for the appointment on the mornining of the 20th only to be called back by their office the afternoon of the 20th to say the appointment time was unavailable but they could see us on the 26th or the 15th of the following month. Not even the courtesy of an explanation as to why our scheduled and confirmed appointment was cancelled. My wife was devastated. Dealing with Infertility has been an extremely frustrating experience for us and instances such as these make it no better. This is not the first instance of unprofessionalism we have experienced with this place but it is the most recent. They should be more empathetic to the people that place not only the trust but their hopes and dreams in their hands and considerate of their patients' time. I also suggest that they are more open during consultations about what to expect as far as the frequency of appointments and cost. We often would have appointments where you go in to have a 5 or 10 minute conversation about the next appointment but they charge you for each visit you make. I understand they are ultimately in the business to make money but some of those appointments could have been discussed over the phone and save the patients a few dollars. At any rate after the unprofessionalism, the excessive amount of seemingly unnecessary appointments, a few thousand dollars in hospital bills, and in retrospect the unnecessary removal of one of my wife's fallopian tubes with zero results we will go back to the drawing board. Cannot speak more highly of New Life and Dr. Ripps. If you want a successful outcome, this is the place. Dr. Ripps and the entire staff at New Life are exceptional. We never felt like a number. All questions were answered with the utmost respect and compassion. If you are looking for a terrific physician that practices with the highest level of evidence-based care, Dr. Ripps is the one for you.
Saw Dr Ripps in 2016 and was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Was in my 20s. Did 3 medicated cycles, all failed. Did lap surgery & he told me there was 1 spot of Endo. Told my husband and I that my egg quality was trash because I'm overweight, and my husband just needed to "get me on a treadmill". Exact words. Also gave me no pain meds post surgery. I left Dr Ripps after that and sought a second opinion. Had a 2nd lap & had Endo widespread that he missed. Got pregnant right after.
Dr. Ripps really helps to ease your mind about whatever treatment you need to seek. He was very professional and explained step by step what is expected of me and what is expected of him. I can’t wait to see how he can help my husband and I get pregnant.
My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Ripps and his staff. Going through fertility issues is stressful and emotional enough and his staff makes everything else effortless. I could not have felt more supported, cared for, and loved by everyone here. We are beyond grateful to have had such an incredible experience. After two losses, we are over the moon to finally have a successful pregnancy; all because of Dr. Ripps! We HIGHLY recommend New Leaders. Thank you for everything
Dr. Ripps and his staff have been extremely kind and caring during our time with them. We are now pregnant with our second child via IVF and we cannot recommend them enough. We are thankful for how much time they spend making a relationship with their patients, We will be back again!
Dr. Ripps, Dr. Delaney, and the rest of their team were absolutely wonderful to work with! They care so much about their patients and explained every part of the process to us as this was our first fertility experience. They helped us get back on track with my fertility cycle after being on birth control for years, which allowed us to conceive within one cycle! My husband and I would absolutely recommend New LIFE to anyone looking for fertility treatment.
Wonderful Staff and great family environment. I would highly recommend Dr. Ripps and all of his Staff.
Dr.Ripps is very professional and will do everything he can to figure out what is going on. He is very gentle during surgery and knows exactly what he is doing! Wish we had gone to him sooner.
Dr. Ribs is the worst. Im sorry to say but if you are trying to have a baby he is not the one to help you, this place is only about money. PLEASE BE AWARE.
Really is all about money, and has no problem taking it. Went to a new fertility dr and my embryos were graded so much better than the sad ones dr Ripps office assisted with making... no reason the embryos should have even been considered for a transfer. 1st IVF cycle at new fertility dr, embryos graded AA and I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant on the first transfer. It’s worth the drive to go to Mobile to a Dr who actually cares! Really is all about money, and has no problem taking it. The office staff and physicians are amazing. I felt very welcome and all of my questions were answered. I will recommend this office to anyone.
So happy to have found New Life in Tallahassee. Dr Ripps and the entire team were wonderful! (caring, helpful, full of valuable information...) I can't say enough good about this group. The nurse was our constant encouragement with each step. We conceived with our second round of medication and insemination. My husband and I are grateful to be expecting our first baby girl this summer!

I would absolutely refer people to NewLife. I came to the office after over a year of trying and not really knowing what to do next. The office staff and doctors are so kind, caring and made me feel like I was their only patient. After some testing, surgery, and several fertility treatments, we finally decided to try IVF. While it was a very emotional and difficult process, the staff at NewLife was so kind and comforting. They sat and hugged me while I cried and truly made me feel like they care

Dr. Ripps and Terri Bishop have been fantastic in helping my wife and I become pregnant. A very high level of knowledge, personal care and thoughtfulness made our decision and what could have been a difficult process very fulfilling and easy. We are very grateful for their presence in our family. Highly recommend! - Bubba and Mary

My experience with Dr. Ripps is more than I could have asked for or imagined! He is compassionate, exceptionally knowledgable, and makes his patients feel well informed and at ease. The staff supports you through the ups and downs of fertility treatment with grace and empathetic compassion as well. My husband and I are expecting our little miracle in April!
Dr. Ripps and his associate Dr. Delany, as well as the entire staff at New Life, were all so amazing guiding us through our journey to becoming parents. Everyone was so patient and compassionate, we have nothing but great things to say about them all. At our first few appointments, Dr. Ripps took an hour out of his day to sit down with us and discuss all of our options...how often do you get that kind of personal attention from a doctor! It was wonderful, we felt at ease after talking with him.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here! Dr. rips is fantastic and I made a lifelong friend of the receptionist. Everybody is so kind thoughtful and caring. And we have a beautiful second daughter because of him. Highly recommend.
My husband and I met with Dr Ripps and knew hands down he was the one we wanted to go through for IVF. We'd seen other physicians but felt more comfortable seeing one that was dual board certified; Dr Ripps is board certified in reproductive endocrinology and obgyn. I highly recommend him and his staff. He has a very good bedside manner which makes a difference when dealing with such a sensitive issue as infertility. I went to see a specialist January 31st 2017. My husband and I have been trying to convince for at least 5 years. I wish I would have been told about going to see a fertility specialist way sooner. I have been seeing Dr. Barry Ripps and his team at the Panama City location for the last month. It has been the best experience. They treat me like a human, not like just some person that they can get in and get out of the office. They take their time listening and explaining every little detail.

I would recommend Dr. Ripps to any family/friends that are trying to make a baby. He is the first doctor to really listen/rule out my concerns. I originally thought it was odd that I didn't have much contact with him after the consultations but his staff is beyond excellent as well. His nurse offered to do my IUI on a Saturday night since my husbands works schedule only let provide a sample at that time. That was 4 months ago & now we are pregnant!

After almost two years of seeking answers for symptoms related to imbalanced hormones, PCOS, and general women’s health challenges we have finally found a team of professionals in the Panama City area we feel confident in. We have been actively seeking recommendations from three different doctors in the Panama City area and even went to the Cleveland Clinic last month to find answers and get a second opinion. Good thing we didn't stop there...because finding NewLIFE and Dr. Ripps is our answer!

Don't ever use this office. My insurance didn't cover an expense even though it should of covered everything. A year later they sent me a bill and I was working with our insurance to pay it but they sent me to collections and ruined my credit. HORRIBLE ACCOUNTING PEOPLE!! Very DISAPPOINTED with them
AWFUL Doctor and completely incompetent staff. I am not sure how these people made it through medical school. The doctor nonchalantly said "oh you will just keep having miscarriages" very cold and just shuffled my chart around until I got uncomfortable and left. The staff told me everything would be covered for testing except my visit co pays then proceeded to send my tests to all out of network providers. Now I am dealing with thousands of dollars in bills that were totally avoidable. I am getting the distinct impression that they must be getting kick backs from these providers. Why else would you only send pathology to one provider for everyone instead of in network for the insurance? Do not subject yourself to these idiots! I would give them no stars but that is not an option. AWFUL Doctor and completely incompetent staff. I am not sure how these people made it through medical school. I would discuss my experience with the doctor if I had one. He never met with us or spoke to us. He simply relayed messages through his nurse practitioner. Please look anywhere else for help. We found an empathetic and caring doctor in another facility. The initial appointment was only a time for them to show slides on a PowerPoint of information that can be found on Web M.D., no plan of any kind, and saying to wait another month despite everything being in our favor.

So happy in Panama City Fl If it weren't for them very special little boy would not exist I was damaged pretty severely and thought I'd never have another baby again . Our plans are not always Gods plans... His are much BIGGER & better than ours. After 1 try this AMAZING little man happened What a blessing!!! I highly recommend them, very comfortable, caring & loving staff.
An amazing little boy is here because of them!!! Maybe things we think are our plans are NOT our plans... But Gods plans. Thank God for unanswered prayers.

This was the best experience that my husband and I have ever could had hoped or wished for. We did IVF after several miscarriages and a tubal reversal surgery that didn't work. Our first round of IVF worked and it was inexpensive compared to every where else and the whole process was so easy. The nurses where with me every step of the way! We are so blessed to have our miracle baby and we are so thankful for the best staff at New Life that made the process so easy.Thank you.

We cannot express enough gratitude for Dr. Ripps, Terry Bishop, and the rest of the Panama City office for their help and compassion with our case. My wife and I were blown away with how professional they were, and how dedicated they were to finding our our infertility causes. Rather than throwing a dart and guessing at ways to get us pregnant, they took a very specific approach to see the how we could be helped. End result, we are 7 months pregnant and we couldn't have asked for a better team!
