Basil M Hantash

This is not to review Dr. Hantash…. More of a review on a certain person (Lori Marklund) who took the time to take photos of the examination room. I love pictures because they have a thousand stories. Firstly I would like to establish that I do not work at this facility; I however was employed there approximately 5 years ago. This facility has had its ups and downs in the recent past….but, Dr.Hantash is a fine physician and is extremely knowledgeable in his field of practice. I worked with him day in and day out and he displayed only care and compassion. Let’s get to the pictures:) that sink sure looks horrible doesn’t it? I can assure you that sink is 100 percent clean… one of the new medical assistants poured an acidic chemical in it and that horrible discoloration was the result. The pink stuff running on the cap of the bottle?? Chlorhexadine…touch that and you might get clean when you rinse it off????. The trash…this is an extremely high volume office and the trash is taken away 2x daily; sometimes the tops do that, when it’s getting full. I will totally give you the chair picture; all the dust settles in there….and that should have been cleaned. One more thing… doctor Hantash teaches his medical assistants well ( you definitely know when you get a new hire) so…when he asked about who’s in the room and what’s going on; he simply requested a preview of what the patient’s visit is for today and a refresher on the last one. This common practice, gets him up to speed for better patient care. Lastly, If you were in the office early; before the hustle and bustle started…. The facility is large and the acoustics carry. You leaving his office was a gift…no one should have to deal with a person like you…self-entitled and quick to spread false accusations. This is not to review Dr. Hantash…. Unfortunately this is not a professional dermatology office. Their office is very dirty and unsanitary in the lobby and in the rooms. The office staff is very young and untrained. As I was waiting for the Dr to come in I could here him talking to the medical assistant I just saw on a zoom call. To me it seemed very strange and unprofessional that he had an 8am apt with me and he wasn’t even there yet… Then I heard him asking her what she wanted to do?!? Really?!? Like I am their Guinea pig… His call with her was so loud I could hear him discussing my private medical condition from where I was waiting in the room behind the closed door and down the hall from her. I was so disgusted that I walked out and I won’t be returning. If they try to bill me I will be even more upset. This place sucks! Unfortunately this is not a professional dermatology office. He give me some medication was called accutane And I had a bad Rection to this Medication that Almost killed me and he didn't care when the damage was done on me Really bad doctor.

The doctor was extremely rude and condescending. He asked me what my reason was for coming in and didn't let me get three words in before rudely cutting me off and asking the assistant what my referral said. My doctor made a mistake and forgot to add an S to make it plural (how many skin tags I have) which resulted in him speaking to me accusingly and as if I was wasting his time. Mind you my appointment only lasted 5 minutes AT MOST. My referral had two different concerns - skin tags & moles. We moved on to my moles and I told him my concern with two moles on my scalp that seemed larger and were itching. I told him I was concerned because when I was young I had a mole removed on my arm. He asked "was it cancerous" i told him the test came back negative. HE DIDN'T EVEN CHECK MY MOLES he just told me "they're moles, x% of people have them. As for your tags the laser machine is down, she'll let you know when it's back up" and he walked out. As if I'd ever come back. He barely even looked at me and didn't even properly examine me. This was before covid so there is absolutely no excuse to treat a client this way. I’ve been to Basil’s office several times over the past few years now, and I’ve only had great experiences. Everything he and his staff recommended worked very well for me and the treatments were very affordable. His staff was very pleasant and efficient. Nothing like the other dermatologists that I’ve visited in the past, who recommended expensive treatments that didn’t work and may have done more harm than good. I had a pleasant experience at this office a month ago during Covid. I was referred by my physician to this office because they have a special machine not found in most other dermatologist offices. The staff was very pleasant and did a great job with the procedure. It was completely painless, which is a big deal because I have done this procedure twice in the past, and it was very painful both times. The method they used was unique and worked incredibly well. Was not treated nicely. Kept trying push to medications I didn’t really want. All I wanted was a prescription.

Impersonal. My daughter ended up hospitalized for 6 days at children’s hospital in Madeira due to a syndrome the medication he prescribed caused on her. I almost lost her.

Dr. Hantash is a Great Doctor! Finally someone that listens., Open to try things to see what works for me. All these bad reviews seem to be for the front office and not Dr. Hantash.

I was experiencing an extremely painful skin condition with my hands for many months and my primary doctor was unable to figure it out. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hantash and first impressions were the front office staff were very friendly and professional. Dr. Hantash provided a "game plan" starting with the most conservative treatment. I am so grateful for his care because he managed to help with my skin condition. My hands are healing and no more pain! 5 stars for Dr. Hantash!!

My doctor referred me over to Dr Hantash, but after reading the comments. I don't think I want to go there.

Received an insurance approval to see Dr Hantash. Called the office to make an appt. The person that answered said I can't make appt cause the person who does that is gone. Asked when that person would return,her answer was I don't know! Rude person that I spoke to said I wish insurance would not tell people to call,when we have time, we'll call u. That was two weeks ago! Called several times since and voice mail says they are too busy to answer the phone,leave message and they will TRY to get back to u within 24 hours. No thanks!!! She works there so her boss must not care that she talks that way to his patients. Modesto Derm was exactly the same. This office knows how to treat their patients!!! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The medical assistants and doctor were great. Never switching dermatologist!!!

Not a professional office at all. Girls up front have no idea what they are doing. I pay all my bills and still get letters saying I owe. I have been going to this office for a while now for check ups and skin services, and it seems like every time I go in there is a new girl. I loved some of the girls that used to be there, and I can see why they left. Not a fan of Tawnya at all. I wonder where he finds these girls?? I wish the office could go back to how it used to be.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hantash's office for several years. I have always been happy with the options and treatment I have been provided. Recently, I have been seen at times multiple times a month due a hormonal change in my skin. The staff is always accommodating and patient. This office comes highly recommended.

Dr. Hantash has taken the extra interest needed to help solve a perplexing and complex health issue I have been experiencing, which was initially manifest on my skin. He has been persistent in his pursuit of correct diagnosis, definitely going beyond my expectations. I am impressed by his integrity.

In my visit HE Gave me instructions on med - went to pick up med and inst on bottle was Very different than His inst - called office - nurse called and gave VERY different ist - told her about difference - ask for Dr to call OR make another appointment - was told that was NOT going to happen? I see Dr. Hantash for a potentially life threatening disease. He was an answer to my prayers, seriously! I had been bounced around from doctor to doctor...each one either not willing to take the time to figure out what rare condition I have or not willing to take on a complicated case. From the moment I met Dr. Hantash he showed concern and made it clear that he would work with me to figure out what exactly was making me so sick. He goes above and beyond every time I see him!!!

Dr. Hantash is one of the most caring, thorough and professional physicians I have ever encountered. He is a sincere care provider with consumate skills and I have no hesitation recommending him to friends and family. Our community is fortunate to have him.

My husband and I are so happy that we found Dr. Hantash. It is worth the extra we have to drive. Now, my entire family and a lot of my friends switched to him and are happy also. My friend had been doctoring with another dermatologist for 6 months will no results, her first visit with Dr. Hantash she was on the road to recovery. I would confidently recommend Dr. Hantash. The office is always friendly, helpful and very professional.

I am not sure what transpires here, but there is something amiss. My initial appointment seemed O.K. I was told I needed to give a skin sample and blood test for allergy. It was done and I was out in 5 minutes. Upon returning, there was no doctor, just a woman who spoke to me. I do not know if she was a nurse or nurse practitioner. She gave me no diagnosis or prognisis nothing. I left no better informed from the day I walked in. It was a waste of time and money.
