I was referred to this office and specifically dr Schwartz by my OB and one of my best friends who was dealing with a serious issue similar to mine, so I felt secure in scheduling with him during a scary time for myself. I called over a month ago, got an appointment with him for a consultation, sent all of my records to the office and received a phone call 12 hours before my appointment with him, to be told that he is no longer seeing new patients and that my appointment which I have been nervously anticipating, was cancelled. No explanation, no apologies…absolutely awful and inconsiderate in light of the conditions that people who are going to see an oncologist for. Dr. Benjamin Schwartz is an amazing doctor. He is professional and kind. He goes above and beyond to allow his patients to have the best outcome possible, due to his expertise in his field. I highly recommend him.

What a wonderful experience. Clean office and very pleasant staff!!

Dr. Schwartz is a wonderful doctor. Extremely competent and I have the utmost confidence in him. His staff are always friendly and very helpful and comforting. His office is very well run. I have recommended him before and would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Schwartz Is amazing! I dont understand all the bad reviews. Yes, he's not going to chit chat about the weather, hes going to get straight to the point and try to get you better. My Gyn referred me to Dr. Schwartz for a hysterectomy . I had already had a Leap and cone biopsy which but were not a success. Dr. Schwartz told me if I allowed him to do a repeat LEEP he was confident he could fix the issue without a hysterectomy. I am only 33 yrs old and he did not want me to miss the opportunity to have more children. Although I was not confident this would work I agreed. 6 months later I just got the call that Im completely clear! Thank You does not seem like enough. Dr. Schwartz and his team were a godsend in my world !

Had my hysterectomy done by him. It would have been nice if he could have done robotic instead of cutting vertically down on my belly. Post op .. man that tube to drain the blood they yanked it outta me without any consideration for me. No numbing nothing...I was shaking when they were done! never experienced something like that in my entire life. I hade previous surgeries including C section but this doc and his team were the worst ever. No values.. Trust me that surgery messed up my pelvic and my back muscles; a year after and I still experience lots of back pains. He sent me back to work 6 weeks after even though I told him I was not physically ready; My stomach was so sensitive months after I had to watch what I ate. Lots of back pains I had to go to my family doc who prescribed PT. I had to end up leaving my job cause I couldn’t travel 1 hour to and from the city . For those of you who say he saves your life- you must be a cancer Case.. I wasn’t! I think he shortened mine!

Cannot say I would recommend this doctor. He was present at my hysterectomy, or I’m told he was, I wouldn’t know as he never came to see me before or after in recovery or even introduce himself to my husband. I did however receive a whopping bill for the office visit prior to my surgery in which he walked into the exam room for 60 seconds to look over what the nurses had done. My gynecologist insisted he be there in the event they just in case found cancer, which I was told there wasn’t prior to surgery. Oh and the office also changed my appointment from the port Jeff office on a Thursday to Saturday morning two days before surgery, without apology, for their convenience. In hindsight I should have just not show up for the appointment. Cannot say I would recommend this doctor. Dr Schwartz is by far the best doctor I know. He raises the bar for every other provider out there. He has helped my wife in a critical time...always makes people around him feel comfortable and treats his patients with the highest level of professionalism. Northwell is extremely lucky to have him!

Dr. Ben has operated on me. He is a character and very rough with patients. His bedside manners are very poor. The post-op care is worst too. His office staff is not nice at all. They are short-tempered and very rude. I will never recommend my family members and friends to this doctor.

Dr Schwartz was not correct about anything he told my mother. He originally told her he that her tumor on her ovary was not cancerous, it was. He wanted to perform a laparoscopic hysterectomy. He didn't because once he started he realized the tumor was cancerous. He performed a traditional hysterectomy, and in the process, he "nicked her colon, requiring a couple of stitches". After the surgery, we didn't see him for 8 days, after telling us she would be in the hospital for 2-3 days. After pleading with him to come and see her, he did. He said she looked fine and from a surgical standpoint and was recovering well. All you had to do was look at her and you could tell she was not. He ordered a cat scan of her abdomen just to be sure. Well guess what, the next morning he calls me to tell me to meet him at the hospital that he believes my Mother is septic and that this is very serious, life threatening. We met him at the hospital, and he wanted to perform another surgery. We were concerned because she was vomiting a lot and didn't want her intubated for the anesthesia. He stated that there was no time and this was emergent. A second Dr disagreed with him and said we should wait, but Dr Schwartz said it was life and death. We gave him permission. Once again he was wrong, there was no blockage and no sepsis. Also, my Mom Aspirated her vomit during the intubation and caused irreversible damage to her lungs. She never left the hospital, and died 30 days after being admitted for what was supposed to be an ambulatory hysterectomy. If your considering Dr Schwartz as your Dr, do yourself a favor and run! I was referred to Dr. Schwartz with a life threatening illness, he pretty much saved my life. He is a great doctor ,very professional and caring.I will be forever greatful to him for his care .God bless you !

I had my surgery with Dr. Schwartz. I had several complications and needed two more surgeries including surgery to repair my ureter and bladder. His office never returned my calls and I felt that he left me high and dry. I will never ever send anyone to him.

He operated on my wife to preform a hysterectomy. Surgery didn't go well as planed, was going to do it laparoscopy but switched to a open surgery. her recovery wasn't going well. Dr. Schwartz never came out the night of the surgery to speak to the me or the family instead called on the hospital phone to explain the operation. Never saw him that night. Although the recovery wasn't going well Dr. Schwartz never came to see her and after 8 days final showed up for a exploratory surgery.

Meeting him for the first time he seemed like a nice guy willing and determined to help me. And to find out why I live day to day in horrific pain...after going through multiple tests in one weeks time and going back for test results, he was rude,did not answer my questions, and insulted me. Did not go over my records prior to the visit, and talked over me when I tried to explain my symptoms. Trying to give me medication without a diagnosis but did not try to help stop my pain...dont recommend

Excellent care, would highly recommend.

First impressions: Very nice respectable Dr., showing his clients hospitality.and respect. In which they were all white. I showed him my lower region and he took a pap smear. I asked for pain meds due to breakdown and irritation in this area.His comment was; there's no drugs on the premises. To get in contact with the pain management through Affinity .In which the receptionist did call and email the information,But the most troubling /or upsetting ,when he asked me 3x times about an HIV test.Explained that I was negative in Sept,2016 and don't mind taking one. So when his office called for pre-surgery follow up I wasn't thrilled. That a Dr. can see that your'e in pain and let you leave out the same way. So he called me and stated he could help and don't let my situation get worse.He didn't apologize, he just stated we agreed to disagree. I do give him credit , for calling back. So I'm in need of feedback.Maybe its just me ,my feeling or my skin color.My next appt. I intend to have my brother and my friend there present with me. I think that the aura will be very different. Best doctor.... he gave me another chance in life and I will forever be grateful. He treated me for endometriosis. I found the whole experience with both Dr. Schwartz and his staff to be HORRIFIC! Dr. Schwartz was incredibly egotistical, demeaning and dismissive. He might be a good choice for patients who fit right in with his usual scope of practice, but for me, who had something rare and a little complicated, what he suggested, as it turns out, would have caused me further problems. I would NEVER RECOMMEND Dr. Schwartz to any of my friends or family!

With all the negative he sees daily he always has a smile and kind word but more importantly he gets straight to the point and goes out of his way to ensure you will be healthy and cancer free. He will take all the time you need when you visit the first time and have to absorb the "C" news and will go through all the procedures but be aware he doesn't sugar coat it or spend an enormous amount of time with you during the routine follow up visits when you are doing well. This is okay with me

Dr. Schwartz and his PA's are wonderful. I trust all of them completely even though I have only just met them. If you call the office after hours, a PA calls back right away to discuss your symptoms. In my case, she then called Dr.Schwartz who returned my phone call within 20 minutes with instructions. I wouldn't want any other team helping me through my case.

everything was good except there was a little nick in the vaginal wall which caused me to go back into the o r.

Answered all my questions easily, great before and after care. PA's were also wonderful in office and hospital.

I had PPH and alomost bled to death. This Dr. saved my life and I will forever be greatful. Best Dr. I know!!

Both Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Jonathan both were excellent about explaining the procedure both pre and post op. and what to expect from the medical experience. The visits in hospital were reassuring as you do not know what to expect.

A perfect mix of telling it like it is, but compassion for how the diagnosis is affecting the patient. I was sent there for a consultation by my Gynocologist. When the Office Manager determined that my insurance might not cover the visit, I was assured that they would work with me. I saw the doctor for a total of 5 minutes at which time he did a colcoscopy. THAT WAS IT. They billed the insurance company 7,800.00 of which they paid not a dime and then charged me a "discounted rate" of $1,280.00. I personally went to the office to ask for a reduction, but NO!
