This practice is not trama informed. Be very careful when talking to the receptionists that they do not retraumatize with their snotty and rude behavior. They have now gotten to the point with me that they only have the doctor sign one prescription at a time. So every month I have to call. Having a mental illness means I am very sensitive to this condescending attitude. I will be finding a new doctor after almost 2 years. I don't deserve this treatment.

Dr. Schwieters is, hands down, the best psychiatrist and physician I have ever worked with. I have a complex neurological disease that also affects my mood and severe depression. He, and his team, make my complicated medication management easy (I love their new text to script system), he is incredibly helpful and nonjudgemental about modifying my treatment plan, is up-to-date on some of the newest medications for my rare illness, and, more than anything, Dr. Schwieters gave me hope that I could live a fuller, healthier life. He never gave up on me. My family and I couldn't thank Dr. Schwieters and his team enough. He has helped me - and many of my friends - get their lives back.

He is the greatest. I've been seeing him for 11-1/2 years and he has helped me to control my issues. I would recommend him to anyone that wants someone that really listens and doesn't rush you.

I have been seeing therapists and psychiatrists for 30 years now, since diagnosis in my early 20s. In that time I have moved many times (across five states!), and consequently I have seen MANY different providers. (Indeed, I have learned a lesson from those forced experiences: When a provider isn't working out, CHANGE AND FIND A NEW ONE. It's possible, and a good match is like night and day.) I can say with this perspective that Dr Schwieters is one of the better ones. He's competent, kind, listens well -- and perhaps most important for me, he's HUMAN. (I have found many of the MDs to be cold and distant. I would get my "warm fuzzies" from the therapists. Nice to find an MD who is more sympathetic.) I feel lucky to have found Dr Schwieters when I moved here to MN ten years ago.

Been seeing the doc for years, he’s amazing. He understands, listens, and is just a personable guy. Staff is amazing too.
