Dr. Carolina Maria Hernandez

She told me that no one takes my insurance because they don't pay doctors and then without warning stopped taking my insurance when I needed care.

They BULLIED me to Change & list Dr Hernandez as my Primary Provider on my Insurance Card; which I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY & when I Noticed how POORLY they handled making my appointment & how I was LIED 2 that I 4got my prescriptions.... WHICH WAS NEVA GIVEN 2 ME; I NO LONGER wanted 2 return 2 a facility THAT I COULD SEE didn't hv many patients & Later noticed it had LOW REVIEWS Online!! THESE SLIMBALLS are sending me a bill of $165 for a NORMAL 1ST TIME VISIT..... Wit NO TESTS or Bloodwork?? AFTER; as I've ALREADY STATED I was BULLIED 2 get them Listed as my provider on my insurance card..... Soo, my coverage was ALREADY VERIFIED 2b COVERED 4 Payment; yet they're PISS POOR SAD that I NO LONGER WANNA B SEEN AT SUCH A LAME, DESPERATE & POORLY RAN OFFICE!!!! & ONCE a person tells me LIES..... Were DONE!!! ???????????

After being seen I was scheduled a new appointment, but NEVA handed the script 2 get my lab work .... But when I called 2 days later LATER 2 ask; I was Told that I left it?? Soo, I was then Told it would b emailed to me THAT DAY of Friday....m but it IT NEVA CAME!!! Soo,I called Back in Monday & had it socalled resent, While given a STORY of how she was working from Home & contacted the office to send it.....& that IT was showing from her office emails that it Was sent; Soo HOW was she able to send it While we were talking BUT it DIDN'T go through from her cockamamie Story she was giving me??? I Believe ALL of This occurred & buildup from when I made my 1st made my appt; that I felt BULLIED that if I wanted to be seen.....I would HAVE 2 change the name of my Primary Doc on my card & Now Wait 4 a new card to arrive!!! I thought it was ODD because I've been seen by other primary doctors, since I'm still New to VA. & had NO PROBLEMS wit THIS kind of DEMAND b4!?!?! As I'm feeling BULLIED

Please be cautious if deciding to go to this office. Went to first appointment asking for a well check because it was one of only options in the area for the insurance. They refused to do a well check because during the exam it was discovered there was an ear infection. Therefore we would have to come back for another appointment to do the full well check(patient moved here and needed refills on several medications). I asked if we could just get refills on medications that she clearly had in her file Or at least referrals to doctors to help with the refills. Dr. said no that we would need to do that at a well check. Next appointment was well check (a month later) and again we asked for referrals and medication in her file. They said we would need another appointment for the referrals. We did so, again. At that appt they gave a low dose of medication and said “will get your referrals when you leave.” They did not. We waited. Then we asked the front desk, to which she said she would have someone call us since the doctor was in with someone else. We never received call back and never received referrals. We did a virtual visit for medication check and again asked for referrals. They said they would call refill in at an increased dose and said we would need to do an in person appt for referrals. We waited on the prescription. They did not call in an increased rX. We have left 5 messages asking why the increase did not occur. Not one time have we received a call back. It has been one full year since the first appointment and all that was accomplished was my daughters ear infection cleared up. And one prescription given at too low of dose. Limited options in the area due to insurance. However the principle of the matter is we paid for the appointments and did not received the promised service. If I could give Dr. Hernandez 0 stars I would be. She is the sort of doctor that wants to play god instead of giving patient care. While reviewing my blood work she kept telling me everything we were going to do and when I said no it became an issue. I explained that I am the type of patient that wants to be involved in my care and that I need her to explain what she plans to do for me to make an informed decision and she blew up! She told me that the way she does things is to review all the labs and then answer questions (which I wouldn't have known as this was only my second time seeing her) and that she would print out my labs so I could find another doctor. I will note that while reviewing the labs, though, she kept listing everything that was going to be done and asking if it was ok. I was asked why I even came to the doctors office if I wasn't going to take her advice! I tried to discuss things and was berated and told that I would not be allowed to treat her like that because I had said no with some force due to having been ignored the first time I'd said no. Even when leaving the office after receiving my lab work so I could find another doctor I'd asked just to speak to her for a moment as I could tell she was upset and I don't like to let things be that way. Her reaction was to tell me no that she had patients to attend to and walked away. This doctor has absolutely no interest in patient care and seriously lacks the maturity that I would expect from someone that seems to want to be taken at their word without any questions or concerns. I love Dr. Hernandez she is an awesome doctor but if you don’t pay your bill they send it to an attorney and they make you pay the attorney fees in top of what you owe the office. In my situation I had no time bc I’m working two jobs and keep forgetting to call them. And when I do get the chance it’s too late.. I even explained it to the lady that I called to pay bill and she said they can’t do anything about it. That she can take the payment for the office visit but I’ll have to contact the attorneys office to pay the attorney fees..

Great doctor who cares about her patients.

If it hadn't been for her I would have been dead. Even worse I would have had an amputation. God bless her always

Dr. Hernandez came highly recommended by a couple of my work friends, and they were right! Ever since she became my Doctor I have witnessed first hand that she genuinely cares for her patiens. She is very attentive to her clients and goes the extra mile to make sure her clients have been listened to and cared for by her and her amazing staff ( she hires the best to join her team). She provides the most up to date treatment and top of the line medical care. As a combat veteran, I truly appreciate Dr. Hernandez, to include her professional team of Nurses and staff. In my experience, Dr. Hernandez is clearly committed to providing 110% to her clients. It is a joy having Dr. Hernandez care for me and my whole family. This is why Dr. Hernandez has been my persnal Doctor for many years, and will continue to be so for many more to come. Thank you Dr. Hernandez. The worst I ever seen.

Rude

My mother was treated terribly by Dr. Hernandez. Dr said "Your insurance only pays for a 15 minute visit. Any other issues we can talk about in a few months" Dr Hernandez clearly cares more about your money than you as a patient seeking help. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

I would recommend this doctor to anyone looking for a new primary care doctor in Stafford. She has been treating my 79 year old mother since February 2017 after a bad experience with another local doctor. Her medical skills, caring attitude and efficient office staff have helped my mother tremendously. She has been truly concerned for my mothers overall quality of life as well as treating her medical conditions. We are so grateful that we found her. I was recommended by a co-worker/friend to see Dr. Hernandez. I had seen her name pop-up several times in the Ophthalmology practice I work in. All of my patients gave me the same recommendation as my friend when I was looking for a new PCP. I was hesitant because working in the medical field and passed experience has made me very picky about the doctors I see. But I thought I would give her office a try. SOOO glad I did. Upon my first visit, Dr. Hernandez and her staff were quick to get me back, friendly and thorough. She listened to all my concerns and answered all of my questions. Unlike previous doctors, she did not write off my concerns due to my young age. She took into account all of my symptoms, previous medical history and family medical history. After addressing my current concerns/situation and referring me to a specialist, she wanted to make sure that I was scheduled for my (over-due) physical. Today I had to follow up for my blood work and she went over the goods not just the bad results. My experiences with Dr. Hernandez have been great. She is quick and to the point, but thorough and explains everything well. Her staff is also friendly and helpful with scheduling/changing appointments if needed. Dr. Hernandez is a good doctor!!! I have known her for the past 8 years I should listen and give good advice his staff are respectful she listened to you and give you a good advice I will recommend him for anybody

Dr Hernandez is a thorough and caring doctor, she takes the time to explain and talk to her patients, unlike other doctors I have seen who seem to rush in and out of the office before you have the time to ask questions. She also sees my mother who speaks Spanish and has forgotten her English, she is wonderful, sweet and caring with my elder mother and best of all, she is able to communicate with her in her native language.

I am having surgery and had to see a primary care Dr. My appointment was at 2 pm, at 2:40 I was finally called back where a nurse went over my info, told me the dr would be with me soon. When I said I had another appt at 4 she went and spoke to the dr. Dr came in ,told me I need to schedule multiple appts one in the am one pm. ( I already had an am appt) then could not do any of the required tests because I needed to fast and I was in a hurry. Turns out I did not need to fast. waste of time!!!

Dr. Hernandez speaks down to her patients. She does so while staring at a screen and before rushing out of the room. Her billing "department" is incompetent. On more than one occasion they have claimed to not receive payment even with proof that it has been paid. The last time my family set foot in that office her rude receptionist and then Dr. Hernandez publicly humiliated my father for non payment of $42, which had been cleared through his bank. She dictates to and shows little care.

Dr. Hernandez tells it like it is and give good advice. She is very helpful in getting you the care you need. She exercises good judgement so as not to waste your time and money. Her advice is valuable.

Dr. Hernandez listen to her patients and really cares. she is always willing to explain health concerns with you.

No waiting time, the staff is very nice and Dr Hernandez will take her time to take care of you. FYI the lab is the building which is very convenient.
