Ms. Carolyn G Dawkins

Sessions during Spring 2019, Ms. Dawkins is of course an experienced professional with many years yet during my sessions I did feel a sense of overt judgement especially towards the end of our time (last session in August of that year). I was also concerned at the need for medication (which isn’t always completely necessary) to be paired with her talks, no exceptions. The in house med doctor also wasn’t completely receptive and didn’t feel comfortable. A couple times, I participated in light group therapy (which initially was assumed to be a voluntary effort yet after the fact was charged in addition to weekly sessions) & overall found my personal experience to be not as edifying as I had hoped. Over two years later, I’ve greatly improved in many areas & can certainly attest that I wouldn’t have shown my current progress if I had continued with her treatments. Wouldn’t personally recommend yet Ms. Dawkins may work better with older (35+) clients as I was turning 25 around that time.
