Dr. Motz did a wonderful job of explaining my injury to me and what my options were. I appreciate all he has done and all he continues to do to help me get back to the sports I love. I highly recommend him.

Dr Motz is AMAZING! He made sure I was comfortable throughout my journey to surgery. Brook his assistant is soooo sweet and intelligent!!! They were both very professional and concerned about my well being. The surgery went VERY well and I am well on my way to full recovery

I injured my knee. They got me in the next day. Dr. Motz was fantastic. Highly recommend. I've been going to Advanced Orthopedics for 8 years and have always been pleased.

Had a great experience at OCC and Dr Cary Motz. Disloacted my knee again. Dr Motz was great, took time to explain everything and make sure no tears in ligaments and such.

Took my son to see Dr. Motz for shoulder pain and was very impressed that he got us in right way, took an X-ray and talked with us about what he saw. He was very knowledgeable and personable and so far I would recommend him. It was refreshing to not have to wait forever for the Dr. to come in, he was very prompt!

Dr.Motz was very personable and knowledgeable in his assessment of my dislocated knee. This was very reassuring after the injury. With minor ligament tears he did not suggest surgery and recovery is going well with physical therapy. Was able to make appointments quickly and easily.

I was pleasantly surprised that an orthopedic surgeon recommended conservative treatment for my fractures. He showed concern, explained possible outcomes and helped me understand my healing process.

I’ve been extremely pleased with the outcome of my surgery Doctor Cary Motz performed back on August 30. Hardly any pain and recovery has gone very well in my opinion. Have always been ahead of schedule. Working to get strength back.

Dr. Motz has worked on both shoulders . The right shoulder had a slight tear in the rotator cuff. He advised me to not surgically repair it and to try PT first. He was right and it’s good as new. The left had a detached bicep tendon and said that only surgery would fix it. I got a second opinion and he was right again.. I still haven’t fully recovered yet, but I’m confident Dr.Motz will continue to help me until I’m better. I like the fact that he’s not “knife” happy ???? I had to edit because I never did recover from his surgery.. Dr. Motz said the next step was a shoulder replacement. I got a second opinion and after a second simple surgery by that doctor ( bicep tenotomy revision and debridement)my bicep tendon is repaired. I was out of pain IMMEDIATELY. This was my first visit for my newest knee problems ie:torn meniscus. I was seen quickly and felt Dr Gary Motz was knowledgeable and honest. I received steroid injections with ability to return if needed. I will begin strength therapy soon. So far so good!

Even the day of surgery when there was a delay at the surgery center, he allayed my fears and explained with such kindness that my higher blood pressure (due to having surgery that day lol) went down immediately! I consulted with Dr Motz for anterior pain in my left knee without mechanical or range of motion problems , an MRI was obtained . The MRI showed a degenerative medial meniscal tear . I had an old ACL reconstruction and ongoing chondromalacia of the petella in the same knee . After seeing the MRI he indicated that an arthroscopic Medial Meniscectomy ” should make it better. “ I was a previous patient if his . I am a surgeon and previous colleague , I trusted his judgement . After surgery the pain in my knee became severe in a new medial location . Dr Motz prescribed a knee brace which I did not need prior to surgery . I consulted with him post operatively , he told me the new pain should improve 4 months after surgery . I finally consulted at the Mayo Clinic . I was told that they do not operate on degenerative tears of the meniscus unless there are mechanical problems , that operating for pain was unpredictable. On a subsequent MRI the surgeons at the Mayo Clinic told me that I was now Medial Meniscal deficient . I informed Dr. Motz of the Mayo Clinic’s findings and he emailed me that “arthroscopic surgery for degenerative meniscal tears are unpredictable and surgery can come back and bite you “. He also stated “ my downward trend would have happened with or with out the scope” and that I “ should now consider a knee replacement “ ( I was told by Dr Motz after surgery I was no where near a knee replacement) I strongly feel that he should have made these points clear prior to surgery. In my follow up with Dr Motz I hoped he would learn from my poor outcome to avoid unnecessary and potentially harmful procedures in future patients . Unfortunately , from his reply, no responsibility was taken. If you consult with Dr Motz please demand a full discussion of the risks and benefits of the procedure and seek a 2nd opinion . I posted before but I really think that it’s important to know that Dr. Motz is a really good listener and he remembers things; unique things about what I said in the recent past at other visits. I truly appreciate that he listens to me and explains everything to me. I’m a very inquisitive patient and he tells me everything so I highly recommend him! I had shoulder surgery on my right shoulder and I need it on my left but he listened to why I don’t want to do it anytime soon; but would like to do it this year still. So many doctors push their agendas and I don’t feel that way about Dr. Motz. Dr. Cary Motz has been my ortho doctor for several years. I see him for torn rotator cuff issue and for both knee pain. Dr. Motz has successfully used injections for all three joints to help me delay or avoid surgery all together. His demeanor is fantastic and he always takes time to answer all of my questions. i have always felt I am in good medical hands with Dr. Motz.

He is a specialist on shoulders and knees, provides excellent patient service, he is kind , compassionate and thanks to Dr. Motz my whole experience has been incredibly awesome. I had badly sprained my elbow and Dr. Motz explained recovery efforts and scheduled a check up to determine if it was anything more serious

Dr. Motz gave me an injection of steroids in my knee without telling me that it would delay my surgery 90days AND make me more susceptible to an infection, which would have been good to know in the middle of a pandemic. When the injection didn't help he wanted me to come back in for an injection of lubrication, which I have since been told is nothing but a placebo. He wasted 3 months of my time and money.

Very professional and made me feel very confident that he would discover the problem in my shoulder. He was rcommended to me by my son who had a torn rotator cuff repaired. I certainly would recommend Dr Cary Motz for any ones shoulder repair.

Great doctor makes you feel comfortable with wharever procedure he is doing.

By far the worst, most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever met. He wrote me off after he found out I wasn’t using his PT (wasn’t an approved vendor by my work comp) and he didn’t believe me and tried to tell me there was nothing wrong with my knee. So I got a 2nd opinion and DUH, there WAS... torn meniscus. I’m 6 weeks post op with my surgery now and doing great! Thank God I advocated for myself to my claims adjuster and switched doctors! If I could give him zero stars, I would!!

Dr. Motz performed rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. The results and recovery have exceeded my expectations.

I found this doctor to be good with patients, and knowledgeable about the issue at hand. He also gave good feed back as to the next steps in his plan for my son healing without rushing him back to the field, yet maximizing his field time. I endorse this doctor for all your ortho needs, his assistant Amelia is also knowledge and great to work with.Scheduleing was easy and the place was clean

Dr. Motz is amazing. I tore my ACL, MCL, and Meniscus in February, he was able to get me into surgery within a few weeks, and had me walking as soon as possible after the surgery. It is now September and I am completely free with no pain, which I have been for a while. He is slightly cautious post-op, but that is a good thing especially in my situation. I recommend him for all knee injuries.

I would most definitely recommend Dr. Motz to all my family and friends. He took very good care of my shoulder and my knee. I have had no problems and after my surgery his office called and checked on me to make sure I was comfortable, and asked if I had questions they could answer or any other concerns.

Dr. Motz is absolutely great. I took my six year old daughter into see Dr. Motz after she fell hard and it looked like she had broken her arm. Dr. Motz was incredibly good with explaining the situation to both me and my daughter. He easily made her feel comfortable with the x-ray process and casting. The environment is very professional. The staff was kind and attentive. I did have billing questions afterwards that were answered in layman's terms. I highly recommend Dr. Cary Motz and Denver Vail Ortho. Dr. Motz is absolutely great. Saw Dr. Motz for scope knee surgery.The office visits are impersonal.Dr. Motz has 1 surgery scheduling nurse&getting in touch with her is challenging= better be available and have no expectation that she is going to have much time for questions. Was given inadequate info about surgery&post-op.My first appt with Dr. was 15 minutes & he never explained my knee tear or surgery but charged me $140 for it.This Doctor is all about profit it and shows.The surgery center and anesthesiologist were great.

I would not recommend this person to anyone . my experience with person was not very good. Left knee hurts more now than before I had surgery. This person was not understanding and did not listen to well, plus he wanted to scope my knee again at full price, when the procedure was not done correctly the first time! My wife and I questioned the surgery, I was done in less 20mins . . . so we are seeing the end results and another doctor to clean up this doctors mess. Motz is about the America $ .

Dr.Motz and Staff have treated Me with respect and professionalism since pre and post surgery( 11days post Shoulder Surgery).Dr. Motz explained complete procedures performed and that if any other damage or issues found they would be corrected.
