Dr. Charles Barry Craythorne

As a former professional athlete I can say with great confidence DR Craythorne is The best Ortho Doc I have ever been to; and I have many. Dr. Craythorne is a hidden gem. After many many visits and procedures with Florida Orthopedic Institute I tried someone new based on other surgeon's recommendations, I am so very glad I took their advise. He is a masterful surgeon who corrected my shoulder reconstruction. My shoulder is healing exactly as he has diagnosed. Dr. Craythorne made himself available to me and responded expeditiously to all my wife's numerous phone calls. On second thought don't use him as when people find out what a fantastic Surgeon he is I will have trouble getting back in to see him for my future inevitable knee reconstruction. If you are reading this this and decide to believe it you have struck gold. He is simply the best!

Dr Craythorne is not only one of the best orthopedic surgeons anywhere but he takes the time with each patient to discuss options and procedures. He never rushes you through a visit I recommend Dr Craythorne for orthopedic joint issues, especially knees , hips and soldiers.

Always caring and listening, he tries to give the most realistic solutions for care, while allowing patient to understand the choices including long term outcomes. Clear and concise direction.

My experience with Dr. Craythorn was awesome, he took as much time as I needed for the initial consultation, explained everything in laymen’s terms, the surgery experience was the best you could hope for considering you are having surgery. The post op visit was again awesome, with Dr Craythorn thoroughly explaining the procedure with photos and a video of the procedure, follow up visits were again above my expectations, as for results 4 months post Op I have 100% motion in my shoulder and am pain free, the only thing left to due is regain full strength in my shoulder, which I’m currently working on and progressing under the extremely competent supervision of Dr Craythorn, I would nor hesitate to recommend Dr Craythorn to my children and grand children. Thank You for making my quality of life much better.

Dr. Craythorne is the best doc I’ve EVER had. He spent so much time with me (over an hour) on my first visit and explained everything going on with my hip (torn labrum). He laid out all of the options and we chose surgery. I just had my second post op visit and my hip feels so much better than it did before. Dr. C has patience, is kind and thorough and knows his stuff! I highly recommend him!!

Dr. Craythorne has an open and calming presence, not the aloof and distant personality usually associated with surgeons. He shares information, responses completely to questions, always gives alternatives for treatment if appropriate, and takes his time with me. Dr. Craythorne is an exceptional physician and excellent surgeon.

Courteous and efficient staff. And he’s absolutely the best ortho in Tampa. Competent, kind and listens to his patients. Highly recommend him. Replaced my hip and no longer have any pain. Will definitely recommend him to family and friends.

Dr Craythorne has been very helpful after each of my surgeries. He explains in detail exactly what is going to happen during surgery and following surgery. No surgery is painless but Dr. Craythorne makes it “bearable”.

Dr. Craythorne replaced my left hip about 10 months ago. I highly recommend him. I was in Memorial Hospital only one night. The hospital and the staff there were amazing. They were perfect with my weird diet (ketogenic). I'm very active and every bit of pain is gone. The scar is smaller than I expected. The dressing he used was allowed in the shower immediately. I'm very glad I chose to be his patient. 63 yr. old F

I like Dr. Craythorne. He seems to really care about his patients. The office staff is very accommodating. However, I find it very frustrating to have to wait sometimes in the waiting room as long as an hour to two hours for a scheduled appointment. Our time is precious, too!

Dr. Craythorne is very well known in the field of sports medicine. He listens to patients and goes above and beyond to make sure he gives you the best possible treatment plan for your injury. His staff is very kind and caring as well. I highly recommend Tampa Bay Orthopaedics.

Even if you have an appt. you'll be pushed to the back of the line if a pro athlete walks in. I waited 1 1/2 hours without seeing the doctor because I left in frustration. Extremely unprofessional practice of medicine.
