This was my first visit with Dr. Tresser and what a wonderful experience it was Dr. Tresser is very kind and to the point but he says its with compassion sometimes we get angry and offended by what is said but l look at it as just telling the truth l myself lam grateful for you for being honest it just means you care about your patients Dr. Tresser thank you, when l walked in l felt safe that means so much to me thank your staff also again five stars!

The wait time was reasonable! Once in exam room, they were very friendly & thorough. Again, the wait time was very reasonable. Dr Tresser was quite efficient but thorough. He explained surgery but I missed opportunity to ask questions. When staff member cam in to do paperwork I asked about that. She said I’d be able to ask questions during pre-op visit. So that helped. Overall my visit was excellent.

Dr Tresser was very thorough and explained all of our options regarding surgery and alternative treatments. I found him to be highly knowledgeable and respectful.

Selected Dr Tresser and his team for an Anterior Cervical Disc Arthroplasty. C6/C7 Level. I had been fighting a pinched nerve for several years, getting pain block injections every 3-6 months. So far the nerve pain has greatly subsided. Entry spot is healing nicely and PT starts soon. With goal of full recovery in another two months. Dr. Tresser has performed a SI Fusion and a Lumbar Laminectomy on me and both have had tremendous results. He is a superb surgeon. He also did a fantastic job in laying out all the options I had to help me make the decisions.

Dr. Tresser is an excellent spine surgeon. My back has been a mess for several years, and this was a complex surgery. I'm two months post surgery and doing very well. He has an outstanding team and they are well organized.

I haven't seen the doctor. His ARNP has seen me. After my appointment cancelled several times because I didn't want to see the ARNP, the doctor didn't show up and I am not happy with the result. I was sent there by hand specialist but no comment for my hand or any neurological treatment or didn't even evaluate the whole picture except reading the neck MRI. I haven't seen the doctor. Doctor Tresser is Truly Outstanding in every aspect. He epitomizes what we patients seek in a specialized surgeon. He is so astronomical, that he has literally reached the level of being celestial! Simply the BEST of the BEST!

Dr. Tresser performed brain surgery on me in April 2002 and it was metastatic cancer in the brain. He was the kindest most involved doctor I have ever had. Surgeries for lung cancer and another brain surgery from an auto accident and I am still enjoying my family and life. I owe a great deal to the skill and caring of Dr. Tresser. Thank you.

Dr Tresser is a very detail oriented and skilled surgeon. He has fused my L4/5 disk and evaluated a C6 fracture. He is not in a hurry to operate but when he does, he does excellent work. I trust him with my spine.

Had my first appointment with Dr Tresser today and it was very efficient even got my ACDF scheduled for next week! The staff was professional and couteous from sign in to check out. Dr Tresser made me aware exactly what to expect in surgery next week. I appreciated his expertise. Lets hope the surgery goes well!

Dr. Tresser was an extremely concise and professional neurosurgeon. I met with several specialists for a spinal tumor and I trusted him to perform a very delicate intradural procedure that was a huge success. His ability to clearly explain the diagnosis, path-forward strategy, and all possible outcomes gave me a full understanding of my options. His assistant Megan is excellent at keeping an open line of communication through all phases of working with Dr. Tresser and I couldn't have asked for a smoother process. I would like to publicly say a big thank you to Dr. Tresser and his staff for the wonderful service I have received over the past 5 months. My back surgery was massive from T10 to the Sacrum. Dr. Tresser saved my life three years ago when he performed an emergency corpectomy and fusion on my lower thoracic and upper lumbar spine after I contracted a blood infection that settled in that area of my back. He and Chuck worked on me for 12 hours on 6/22/18, installing an expandable titanium cage, two rods, and 10 screws. When I went to the hospital three days earlier, I couldn't walk and was diagnosed as a paraplegic. 26 days later, I left the hospital and walked to my car. I see bad reviews here about having to wait for an exam or having pain after a surgery. I have moderate back pain every day, but my alternative was sitting in a wheelchair for the rest of my life...or worse. This man held my spinal cord in his hands, and still managed to put me back together. So what if his bedside manner is a little rough? Sometimes it takes a Patton to win the war.

Please do not go to Dr. Steven Tresser. I just came from Mayo Clinic in Rochester. After two days of testing they told me I have a screw from my spine surgery protruding into my aorta! I also apparently have 10 other screws that are so close to the edge of the vertebrae or so missed the vertebrae that to correct the issue could likely paralyze me. Please don’t go to him! Tresser performed a spinal surgery on me 3/18/2015. My first rod broke within 75 days of surgery. Since I have had two more breaks the most recent about two months ago 08/2021. I now live in Minnesota and chose to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Yesterday I found out I have a screw from the original surgery lodged in my Aorta. AORTA! I was informed that had he screwed it in a little further I would have died. I need another surgery and the finest surgeons in the United States are very concerned about being able to correct what Tresser did without killing or paralyzing me. You see, I also have 10, yes ten screws placed so close to the edge of the vertebrae or, get this, lodged in my spinal canal, fixing those could easily paralyze me. Please do not go to Tresser. If you've thinking of spinal fusion, please stay away from this doctor! I had a thoracic fusion done a year and a half ago and I wish to God I didn't! Since the surgery I cannot stand up straight and can barely walk to the mailbox plus I have the same pain, if not worse. On paper it looked like this surgery would help my pain but it's been a nightmare. I'm sure he's probably helped some people but he truly ruined mine. Please get a second opinion before you let this man operate on you!!!! If this review helps one person, I'll be extremely happy if this helps anyone!!

I would love to share my visit experience but I CAN'T because Dr. Tresser won't see me without an MRI...I can't get an MRI without his ordering one...and they don't say this in the scheduling process, only says to bring any files/labs/etc that you have with you. Good thing they call you the day of your appointment to tell you they are going to cancel your appointment with you. If I was calling the day of, I bet I would be charged a cancellation fee for same day cancellation. They can reschedule you...3 weeks later with a PA that can see you and order the lab so that you can get treatment with the PA and never see Dr. Tresser because why would there be any way to actually see a doctor that should examine you and order labs to help him with his diagnotics?! He literally won’t give you the time of day. You’ll be lucky if your appointment is 5 minutes. I will seek a second opinion from somewhere else. Save your time and hard earned money and do the same

My daughter just had an MRI and is in a lot of pain and the doctor won't take a look and give her a call back!

This Doctor knows his business. He did a spinal fusion on me that significantly improved my quality of life and eliminated almost all pain and discomfort. Before surgery, I could not walk from the parking lot to the back of the grocery store without extreme pain. I needed a grocery cart to help me along. His Nurse Practitioner, Chuck, is awesome in evaluating the problem, helping with treatment, and when surgery is necessary, Nurse Chuck is there too. Awesome team.

I have had 3 surgeries at FOI Dr Frankel, Dr Grayson (2) Love FOI South Tampa- Dr Tresser Nurse came out and scolded us for being 15min late (I apologized) My Mother in a neck brace, wheelchair and on oxygen. I am always prompt but had more than I could handle, rushing was not an option. Having said this my experience with Dr Tresser was less than wonderful. My 85 year old mother visited him for possible neck fracture. At first he seemed fine. It soon became very obvious we were a bother. A scan was ordered, and returned 3 weeks later. She had worn a cervical collar the whole time, good news, there wasn’t any fracture. I called office a couple days after scan to see if she needed to keep wearing it. I was told I wouldn’t find out until 3 weeks later, at appointment. So the collar had to be worn. The fracture they saw was from over 40 years ago. She was seen at urgent care for a fall. Researched him anecdotally and through insurance advocate. Highly recommeded from network - all-around good results communicated back. Its post-op day one, and, aside from basics of sore throat/swolling and sireness aound incision, my pain disappeared. Previously suffered from debilating nerve compression from chronic slow degeneration, exacerbated by athletic injury in Marc resulting in burning, tigling, pressure, etc radiating down right arm into hand, and sharp pains in neck, limiting movement to about 25% ROM. Avoid at all costs. what he called beforehand a basic routine surgery that he does all the time without complications & guaranteed would eliminate inflammation left me permanently disabled. when you ask what happened or can this be fixed he only knows how to say "i don't know". I am now vastly worse off since surgery as I've lost extensive rom in my neck, right arm and fingers with steadily growing pain and worsening inflammation. i can't lift either arm without what feels like a needle in my shoulder blades and if i lift anything heavier than 10lbs i get another inflammation attack & severe pain. The my neck still burns constantly along where the plate is and my neck constantly clicks when I move it in the slightest. My right chest muscle is also swollen and cramps constantly. He knows i have nerve impingement but refuses to look for the cause other than looking at the disks. what’s worse is he does not have an ounce of empathy in him. He doesn't care you can't work or play with your kids anymore or heck let your kids sit on your lap as the nerve pain from it is agony. In our last appointment he wouldn’t even listen to all the new symptoms before saying he is referring me to pain management as whatever happened in surgery made it worse but he does not know how to fix it. Guy refuses to treat the inflammation at all only sending in Non-narcotic inflammation meds 2x in 6 months but does notice when I come in how my hand is horribly swollen and fingers unable to bend from inflammation. I have to ice it for hours every night to help the burning. Every single time I reached out and begged for some kind of inflammation med during a flareup & they refused I lost additional ROM. I should have realized this red flag when they did not even send me home after the surgery with ANY medication including anti-inflammation or steroids. I had to call the emergency line as I was practically screaming. He mentioned it could be bone spurs as I feel like there is a needling in my shoulder blades when I move my arms. in one appointment and ordered a test I thought to look for them but no it was just another super painful test to look at my spine. I don’t care if he responds to the review or not this man does NOT care about you unless the surgery is successful. If something goes wrong he treats you like the plague. We get it some surgeries make things worse. Show an ounce of empathy and treat the symptoms from the botched surgery. But yeah pre-surgery I was managing with pain management and now post-surgery I’m 100x worse and he sent me back to pain management.

AVOID....acdf surgery with tressor left me with 50% rom in my right arm, unable to bend 3 fingers in my right hand, unable to turn my neck to the left. or lift my arms without pain and massive inflammation issues. all answers from him were "i don't know" after surgery before surgery its all yes i'll fix the pain and eliminate the inflammation.

He literally saved my life. I was 11 years old with a fracture on C3/C4. He repaired my neck with a spinal fusion. I was too young to remember his bedside manor, but I’d rather an effective doctor then a nice one. He saved my life.

This is a factory and the doctor doesn't communicate or seem to care. I just looked at his reviews (stupid me to look after my surgery) same complaints from everyone!! Doesn't show any caring. I had a fusion and I never have seen the doctor even after I awoke from surgery, he had left. My follow ups I only saw a Nurse Practioner. I ended up in the hospital from so much pain, and called to the office, and nobody responded. Please don't send me a note saying you are sorry, and this is not what you strive for because obviously it is if the same people complain about the same problems. The doctor's reviews are 2.9!!! after over 50 reviews!! Embarrassing. I am now going to another doctor to help. SO Sad.

I would not recommend Dr. Tresser to anyone, after having a fusion, rod, and a cage on my L3, L4, and L5 on my lower back I was still having unbearable pain in my legs and was unable to walk. I went back to Dr. Tresser and he told me he didn't know what was wrong with me and told me to get off my walker and dismissed me and told me he would see me in 6 months for a follow up. After going to get a 2nd opinion I found out I needed a double hip replacement. Dr. Tresser needs to start listening to his patients and stop acting like he dont care about them. We come to him for help not to be treated like we are beneath him. He needs to start listening and having more compassion for his patients.

You cannot improve your wait time when the doctor does not respect the patient's time if the doctor decides to stroll in late then the office staff cannot improve that .The doctor must learn to be held accountable for his lack of respect and it is a lack of respect to come in late and keep his patients waiting. Why make appts if he doesn't show up on time to keep them .He should reread the office plaque so proudly displayed in his office about respect for the patient. My time is no less valuable to me as his is to him.

Was recommended to go to Dr. Tresser by another doctor, and I have to say that this man must be the finest of the finest neurosurgeons ever. He is a very talented and successful minimalist. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I had NO more sciatic pain in my legs or butt when I woke up from anesthesia!! I could hardly believe it. I was walking down the hallways without assistance (no walker) and continued to improve steadily over the next weeks. I feel just terrific - thank you, Dr Tresser!!! Dr Tresser and all the staff at both the dale Mabry office and the Gunn highway office are amazing! It saddens me to hear so many complain about the waiting time to see them when unforeseen situations arise and appointments are delayed. Please try and understand they perform surgeries every day of the week before coming to the office and operations don’t always take the time anticipated. Would you want a surgeon to rush your surgery? Be patient as they are with you. 5 stars all the way!!!!!!

I previously provided a negative review & now regret that because I would not want to steer anyone away from Dr. Tresser.My husband’s surgery was delayed due to a clerical error, but Tresser & his surgical team did an amazing job. We are only a month since his surgery & my husband has gone from barley walking to five plus miles a day. The entire experience at the hospital from pre-op to post-op was exceptional to say the least. Tresser was recommended by several doctors as the best neurosurgeon

Extremely grateful for the accuracy of assessment and execution of my procedure. Positive results such as steadiness when walking were immediately evident after the laminoplasty performed Dec. 20th. I have hardware IN my spinal canal! Surgery 3/18/15. I was in so much pain after surgery and no one understand why, Tresser went on vacation the very next day. I now know, thanks to Mayo Clinic that there is a screw that completely missed the vertebrae. I have another broken rod and Mayo will only operate if I develop new neurological symptoms because..... they would (in their words) feel duty bound to fix st least some of the problems and that may be worse than the original surgery!

Dr. Tresser performed spinal surgery on me Approximately 2 years ago. Now I have a back problem that has left me bed-ridden. I called his office to schedule an appointment to be seen, and was told that he no longer accepts Medicare and Medicaid, and hung up the phone. So now I literally cannot walk, and seeing a new doctor with my prior history is nearly impossible. Thank you Tresser. This clinic does not have control of all the processes/services that it is trying to implement/provide. Patients are getting lost in the shuffle and I predict that this chaos will result in the medical liability of a mishandled patient. I have been a nurse for over 25 years and have managed medical clinics/trained clinical employees for many of those years and in my professional opinion I would recommend seeking medical treatment elsewhere as I am doing. 9 days and counting for MRI.

Don't dare ask him a question twice, or even rephrase it if you didn't understand his gruff answer. He will slap his hand on his desk and blurt out 'I already answered that.' He does not volunteer any information, so bring your list of questions, and then don't expect an answer. He is only interested in his work. He is cold as ice.

I would highly recommend Dr. Tresser to anyone out there with spine and neuro issues. It took me over two weeks to find someone that I trusted also someone that has a great reputation because I did not want to leave my spine in any surgeons hands. Dr. Tresser has helped me regain my range of motion as well as my feeling in my left hand. I’m very grateful that I found him as my surgeon and would highly recommend him.

Dr. Steven Tresser is an awesome spine surgeon. I had a L4/5 extrusion and could not stand or walk due to the excruciating pain. Dr. Tresser did a laminectomy/discectomy and a few hours later I could walk without pain and go up a few stairs. He is a great doctor and really cares about his patients. I highly recommend him.
