Charles Lettvin

Dr. Lettvin is very thorough and conscientious. He has an outgoing personality that makes you feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend him to a needy patient.

Have seen Dr Letvin for a various injuries including broken bones and and knee and ankle treatment always works.

Dr Lettvin is a great orthopedic doctor. He makes himself available whenever you have an issue.

I would not recommend Dr. Lettvin to care for adult or pediatric patients. I took my 14 year old daughter to OrthoAccess where Dr. Lettvin was assigned to the case. I found him to not allow me or my daughter a full sentence (interrupted us every couple of words), belittled my daughter's indication of pain with phrases such as "it shouldn't hurt as bad as you're describing" and when I began the conversation of pain maintenance medication (since tylenol, ibuprofen and aleve weren't working) he immediately inferred that we were drug seeking by using phrases such as "there's no way I would prescribe narcotics for such little pain". I gave him 1 additional chance 2 weeks later when he re-examined her ankle and ordered an MRI with similar phrasing. Post-MRI, when he called me to discuss the results, he again inferred that we were drug seeking, he didn't let me get my questions in at all, he inferred that my daughter's pain was all in her head with suggestions such as "well she's already in a boot and crutches but if it'll make her feel better, we can cast her foot because sometimes kids will feel better knowing their foot is casted". With my professional experience working with doctors and surgeons at all skill levels, I know that there are some doctors who will not listen to women, who aren't skilled in dealing with young adult patients and will treat patients as if they don't know their own bodies. I find that Dr. Lettvin meets all of these negative criteria for being a bad doctor. I would not recommend that anyone see him unless they want to be accused of being a head case and making up their pain in order to seek out narcotics. 'Did not feel like he was actually listening to me. He wanted me to come in weekly for cortizone shots for my torn ligament. Went to another foot & ankle doctor and they addressed injury better with no shots.

My son injured his foot and I was able to get an appointment now when Dr. Lettvin within an hour. He was both personal and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

After 61 years of abusing my body playing football, rugby, and a life well spent, i have found that having a good orthopedic practice to lean on is essential. Having IBJI and it's fantastic doctors as a resource has truly made a difference in my quality of life. Arthritis and general wear and tear have created a number of issues for me as i get older. Their care and skill at identifying problems, proposing solutions, and alleviating associated pain has been remarkable. Dr. Lettvin is accessible, thorough, and a master with a cotisone shot. He has guided me through numerous issues and because of him, his referrals, and IBJI's fantastic PT group I am enjoing life with very few limitations. I am truly thankful for Dr. Lettvin and his associates, their skill and professionalism have really made a difference in my life. Great experience. Booked an appointment same morning I called. Convenient locations, friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Wonderful doctor, our family has gone to him for years. They even booked my follow up with a specialist before I left. In and out in less than an hour.

Great meeting with Dr Lettvin. Plenty of discussion and counsel on my condition. Trying a cortisone shot to see if that helps

IBJI Bannockburn is on top of their Covid-19 game. Plexiglass, automatic thermometers, prepared and kind staff. Dr. Lettvin is patient, thoughtful, and thorough. He considers and offers all available treatment options neutrally and in layman's terms. He has taken care of all my ailments, and I highly recommend him.

In this upside down world 'normal' is difficult to find but, when you do it stands out! I recently had an appointment with Dr. Charles Lettvin my orthopedic doctor at IBJI except for the masks everything seemed normal. The staff was clearly tired but abundantly pleasant and efficient. Dr. Lettvin was caring, professional, friendly and attentive to my problem. He put me at ease immediately because he listened well to my concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend him to other patients. The Bannockburn staff is also very professional and was attentive to my needs.

I have found Dr. Lettvin to be caring and considerate. He takes the time to ask necessary questions to help guide his prognosis. He is very astute with his diagnosis and is happy to share all the different options for treatment and recovery. I would not hesitate to refer Dr. Lettvin to anyone in need of general orthopedics.

I saw Dr. Chales Lettvin after slipping on food at a food stire an a steel display fell on me. Without taking any x-ray or MRI, Dr. Lettvin told me it was arthritis. Shame on him, i fractured my hip and needed hip replacement surgery. There are so many fine surgeons. I recommend to find someone else.

Dr. Lettvin sat with me and discussed my options thoroughly. He was caring and promptly followed up with me regarding my diagnostic tests that he ordered. I highly recommend him as an orthopedist.

Dr. Lettvin is knowledgeable and answered the questions I had about my son's broken arm. Our first appointment was the only one that was on time. Every appointment afterwards he was late between 15 to 60 minutes. I even tried to schedule the appointment early in the morning. He was running 30 minutes behind at 8:30 in the morning.

Nice guy, smart and not to quick to jump to the knife as an answer. He is my first choice for diagnosis and course of treatment
