Dr. Christopher Marc Maisel

Dr. Maisel is a highly efficient and caring doctor. He provides facts about his patients’ health.

He found I have polycythemia, (makes too much blood). And more recently, visits are pretty much routine. Lab analyzes blood samples, Dr Maisel looks at HCT and if it is within his target range, they don't have to decant a pint of my finest or possibly adjust meds. He is attentive to details and my questions. I think he is a great doctor.

From the time I checked in through getting my blood drawn, going through the area where the patient sits waiting on the MA dealing with the MA, and then meeting with Dr. Maisel to discuss all my conditions was a great experience. Everyone was pleasant upbeat and cared about how I was feeling and if I needed anything. Dr. Maisel is one of the best doctors to show caring and patience and listening to me and going through stuff and explaining things that I may not understand so well that it’s a great experience and he’s one of the most wonderful doctors that I have.

I have been treating with Dr. Maisel for some time now and could not ask for a better physician. First, I consider him to have saved my life. He is patient, incredible approachable and explains everything in layman's terms. I cannot leave out Alicia, his nurse. Both have incredible people skills and have eased the stress of treating with this condition

Dr. Maisel has been my oncologist for 4+ years. He is a caring and compassionate doctor who spends time with his patients and is up to date on all of the treatment options. The Texas Oncology practice at Baylor Sammons Cancer Center is a big one, but Dr. Maisel and the staff there give personalized care to each patient.

Dr. Maisel is a consummate professional and takes time to discuss and explain my treatment. He is very knowledgeable and shows compassion toward his patients. I am truly thankful for Dr. Maisel and trust him implicity.

Dr. Maisel was very courteous and concerned. He took the time to explain what he thought was going on with my health problem and offered a plan to continue my recovery to good health.

Dr.Maisel is great! He has been my doctor for years. He really values my time; doesn’t like to keep anyone waiting. He is thorough and happy to answer any questions. If all the labs are not complete, he always calls me the next day with the results. It’s always him. I appreciate his level of professionalism.

As good as it gets. Dr Maisel is the best. He makes you feel at ease and upbeat.

Dr. Maisel is a truly caring doctor. He listens to your concerns and is always to put your health first. I really like that he never speaks down to me and sits down and actually talks to me instead of just typing on the computer like most doctors these days. When I first went to him I was really scared and very ill. He has consistently worked with me to improve my overall health. I would recommend him to anyone. He is also GLBTQ friendly.

Regular checkup. The blood-testing machine didn't work so I got results later by email.

I’m a 14 year survivor of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I just had my annual labs & appointment with Dr Maisel. Luckily I’m still cancer free, and Dr Maisel shows the same care and concern that he always has through the years. I’m very glad that he’s my oncologist.

Dr. Maisel has treated my leukemia since April 2017, and I cannot say enough good things about him. He is engaged, caring, and has also displayed excellent skill in conducting the two bone marrow biopsies that have been necessary to my care. He has an excellent knowledge of treatment regimens and is great at explaining each drug or procedure he recommends, and is very thorough at reviewing lab results at each visit and explaining what the numbers indicate and how they affect your treatment plan. His primary nurse Alicia is also very knowledgeable, reassuring, and upbeat. They make a great team and are highly recommended.

I have been treated by Dr. Maisel for approximately 4 years. He has been very informative and forthcoming regarding my treatment and the methods that he has recommended.

I was so scared going to a Hematologist but Dr Maisel and his assistant are both awesome. It took awhile to get my first appointment due to the COVID issues but I'm so glad I waited for him. They eased my anxiety and I felt like they were really interested in helping me as I had been thru a lot before seeing them. They are good at answering the patient portal questions as well since I'd rather send an email than call them with questions that come up. I ask probably weird questions but this is all so new to me, they have never made me feel less than. They are great with follow up on my test results and they do not wait to get me the help I need right away. I really feel they care a lot about me. Also the entire staff from check in to lab and scheduling are all so nice. This is very rare these days. Also Dr Maisel sat down and explained what was needed in simple terms. I never felt hurried. Also his assistant is so friendly. It just makes for a great experience during difficult times. If you are like me, my brain goes out the window sometimes during the visits, just ask them to provide a summary of what was said. Terrible doctor who is not willing to see sick patients

Refuse to see me as a patient even though I had presented him lab work showing low platelets and high MPV. Completely useless doctor. Doesn't care about his patients, but his own ego.

I am about to start year five of my treatment for multiple myeloma. The four years of treatment have been managed by Dr. Maisel. We met once a month to discuss any concerns I might have and to update my prognosis. The disease has been held in check such that he recently declared it to be in remission. Throughout this time he made changes to treatment to accommodate problems as they arose and also to insure a quality of life as high as possible. He always starts out meeting with much energy and optimism and wait times are but a few minutes. I would certainly recommend Dr. Maisel to anyone in need of treatment.

Dr. Maisel, is a very caring and take time to listen to my concerns. He give great advise and if you have other concerns after your initial visit, you're free to contact his office. I highly reccomend his services to future patients.

Unlike so many other medical professionals, I get the impression that Dr Maisel and his staff are sincerely devoted to their tasks, and are not simply selling their knowledge for profit. He listens attentively and sympathetically. The fact that I am in remission indicates that he is also an efficient physician. I am obliged to him and his staff.

Appointment was handled efficiently - Dr Maisel explained everything to me and answered my question on the spot. His nurse (Alicia) is also very efficient and helps whenever I need it.

Dr. Maisel appears to be on the cutting edge of new developments in treating blood type cancers. He has recommended immunotherapy treatments which prompts the bodies' own immune system to seek out cancer cells and destroy them, while leaving good cells intact. His treatment methods have included a combination of medications such as Revlimid, Velcade and Dexamethasone . Also periodic infusions to strengthen bones. The combination of these medications have maintained my cancer to date at a manageable level with little side effects.

Satisfied with my visit. He shows compassion in caring for my health. He explains result of tests and informed me that he will send results to my PCP. If care is needed before next yearly visit, I am told to call. I was impressed with the safety of patients in all areas , examining, waiting room. I would not hesitate to refer his name to friends/family members.

Professional and fast. Answers questions and discusses planned treatments.

Dr Maisel has been my oncologist for a few years now . I have recommended several people to him over the years . I believe he treats me with the same excellent care he would give to his mother . He has gone way above in my care if I get any medical problem my daughter has called him for help . When I have had other medical problems I always make sure that specialist Consults with Dr. Maisel even though I’m sure it bothers the other specialist that I value Dr. Maisel medical opinion over there's

I have been a patient of Dr Maisel for about 14 years. He is always up on the latest procedures. He also answers my phone calls usually within an hour.

It was a telemedicine visit and it went well. All my questions were answered and I fully understand the path we are on.

I can't say enough about Dr Maisel. When you hear the word "cancer", you feel overwhelmed. Dr Maisel and his staff quickly earned my trust and admiration. They put me at ease from the start and were extremely confident in their ability to save my life. They did an excellent job seeing to my every need and comfort. Met Dr. Maisel and Alicia Lewis, RN on the same day on July 1st. It was for an examination to schedule further testing after thyroid was removed. Pathology report indicated a rare Extraosseous Plasmacytoma. That same day Dr. Maisel performed a bone marrow extraction along with several blood tests. He indicated a PET Scan would be the final examination to be scheduled at a later date. Seven days later I went back for the PET Scan.. Rather speedy turnaround. All three tests would indicate whether the cancer was solitary or multifocal / diffuse. Within five days I knew that the tests showed the cancer was solitary and Dr. Maisel and Alicia were most happy and gracious to my wife and me with the results. The experience was fantastic and the bone marrow extraction even proved to cause no bruising or soreness from from the bone marrow being drilled out of my hip.
