My experience was absolutely awful. I have a painful chronic condition (endometriosis) that I've been trying to tough out for a couple of months. Finally I had to break down and make a doctors appointment to find some relief from the daily pain. I made an appointment with my obgyn who couldn't get me in for two weeks, so my boyfriend called this office (that I was already a patient at) and requested that I be seen as soon as possible because I was currently doubled over with severe pelvic pain, crying, and throwing up. They said they would see me the next day at 4pm - which my boyfriend clarified twice with the nurse and then immediately told me once he was off the phone. So I suffer through one more day, as since my pain is due to a known illness that is not necessarily life threatening I didn't go to the ER and waited for my doctors appointment in hopes that they would be able to give me something to get through until my appointment at the end of the month. I arrive at their office at 3:50 - 10 minutes early to get all of my paperwork filed out in time for my appointment and I'm greeted by two very unhappy faces. The nurse and receptionist express to me that they were expecting me at 1pm and not 4pm and that I had missed my appointment and they were closing. I wasn't sure how that was possible since it had been confirmed twice on the phone that it was 4pm. I asked why I didn't receive a phone call when I didn't show up for my emergency appointment just to make sure that I was alright and the nurse said "well you just made the appointment yesterday, I didn't think that I would have to call to remind you!" She continued on to say that after I didn't show up for my appointment that they had called the local emergency room to see if I had been seen there, which I hadn't, and I guess that is where the effort stopped. I asked why they didn't call after they found out that I wasn't at the ER, to which they had no answer. The nurse was extremely rude and condescending. This office lost a patient because of the unprofessionalism of that nurse and will make sure that I never recommend this office to any of my friends. Dr. Thanhauser was very aloof and dismissive in my previous appointments with him. I got strange vibes from him when I met with him and didn't feel comfortable alone with him. Dr. Young was very nice, understanding, and helpful with my problems the one time that I saw her. My experience was absolutely awful.
