Best headache doctor, compassionate, caring and knowledgeable

Dr. Friedman is phenomenal and truly cares about her patients. It has meant so much to finally find a doctor who cares about me and takes time to really listen to what is going on. The only downside is the scheduling department. She gets overbooked. I have an appointment with her today, and I’ve been at the office 3 hours without seeing her yet. Just be wary of this if you do come here— It will not be a quick trip. She is worth the wait, but just be aware when planning your day. Dr. Friedman is phenomenal and truly cares about her patients. I absolutely think she is the greatest neurologist around. I enjoy visits with her. She knows all about CSF leaks which is hard to find. I went to two neurologist who had no clue about them before I found her.

Attitude, bad bedside manner, kept saying the tests we have already had down, and the treatments we were set on, were the solutions. 8 neurologists in three states and the ones that caused severe neurological side effects , which didn't work, are NOT the answer. Lots of praise, zero hope she can help. We are screwed.

I waited for 9 months Dr. Friedman, and I had been in excruciating pain for years. No one could fix me. I’d been to the best headache neurologists in NYC. It took her about 6 months to get my headaches under control. She met me, and immediately put me in the hospital to break a migraine that had gone on for over 12 months and I don’t respond well to DHE...that’s where ALL headache neurologists stall. I’m resistant to most treatments. But she isn’t most doctors. You don’t go to her for a warm snuggle, you go to her because she debatable the BEST headache neurologist in the US. You need Dr. House, but someone that is smarter and non fiction. No one could fix what was wrong with me. I have migraines and clusters that were caused by an assault. She fixed it my pain; I have a quality to my life instead of nothing. Save Dr. Friedman for the people no one else in the world can fix. If no one else can fix you come here; otherwise there are tons of great docs.

Dr Friedman treated my son for almost 2 years til he moved out of state for college for migraines brought on by fluid on the brain. She is one of the smartest people I have ever met and the care and compassion she gave to my child was up and beyond what you expect from Dr. Thanks to her care my child was able to function in life and it was her standard of care that has been used 5 years later very successfully! Without her I highly doubt Brandon would be graduating from college with a 4.0 and moving on to be a medical Dr just like her! The greatest form of flattery is when one follows in the footsteps of those that inspire you. He is even interviewing at the very same hospital she successfully treated him at 5 years ago! I am a physician myself and saw her when she practiced in NY and she is 5/5 doctor! Best of the best for sure and thinking of flying daughter to see her as we have seen numerous Drs and still have no answers. I live in NY and would fly to Texas for consult so that should tell you something. No one can please everyone and some patients are just unpleasable!

You are immediately passed off to other staff after first visit, no follow up, no communication about testing or findings. Very disappointing.

I was diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri/Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension also known as PTC. in 2002 by another doctor. I thought being seen by a different doctor because the other 2 Neuro Op didn't really know much about this rare disease. I was a bit disappointed after seeing this doctor as all she prescribed was eye drops because I POSSIBLY could have Glaucoma. Why should I take a prescription c I may have Glaucoma as its not known for sure? The staff is terrible, they transfer you from one dept to anther, rude, and unprofessional. No records history to provide to me or online service like MOST doctor offices. Another disturbing thing is I don't understand why this doctor did not inform me of the Lawsuits of women being diagnosed with PTC due to depo provera & birth control meds causing high pressure. It is important to me for my doctor to provide adequate info to this disease and treat me accurately. Dr. Friedman was a lifesaver to me. I had been in a slow decline for the last ten years. She was very kind and diligent in finding answers for my medical condition. I am feeling better, and hopeful for the future. She listened and was fully engaged with what I was experiencing!

Dr. Friedman's passive aggressive personality and inability to listen make her a poor doctor. I spent over 6 months waiting for an appt, and spent 99% of my time with others who she "trained". She got mad when I asked about that. She is not the type of doctor who will have a discussion with you. She applied a formulaic approach to my appointment and needed to move on too quickly. Find someone else! There are plenty of good docs in DFW.

This doctor is the greatest! In one visit, she diagnosed my issue accurately - something about 7 doctors in California were unable to do - even after multiple visits to these doctors. She is compassionate, personable, and makes you feel at ease while talking to her. Combine those traits with an exceptional ability to discover what is wrong, coupled with high intelligence, and you have an example of the ultimate in a doctor. No one could ask for more.

Prior to my first meeting with Dr. Friedman and her team, I had been to 3 neurologists / neurosurgeons, had 3 MRI's and a CT scan. 2 of the doctors said nothing was wrong, and one misdiagnosed me citing my spinal fluid pressure was too high even though my lumbar puncture opening pressure was 5. Dr. Friedman and her team spent 2+ hours with me going over every single aspect of all headaches I have ever had. She looked over my MRI's and said my MRI from 2013 clearly showed signs of Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension and I should have already been diagnosed. She has followed up with me personally after my first blood patch. She truly cares for her patients, and her team has been helpful and courteous with all of my questions and concerns. It definitely has been worth the 4 hour drive (one way) to meet with her and finally receive a correct diagnosis. She is amazing!! I highly recommend Dr. Friedman and UT Southwestern!!! I have never been in a facility with as many highly skilled, friendly and truly professional personnel! From valets, office personnel, nurses and doctors I have honestly not encountered one negative person in all of my visits!! Dr. Friedman didn't address any of my issues. She was impatient, unkind and unhelpful. I will absolutely not be recommending her to anyone.
