Dr. Emmanuel Nosa Obanor

I’m glad to hear other people had good experiences and that he isn’t as horrible to all patients as he was to me. Dr. Obanor was incredibly dismissive of me and my health issues. He blamed things I had been diagnosed for 10+ years on me occasionally using CBD for my pain. He refused to schedule tests for me until I hadn’t used CBD for three months despite that not being my main concern. I have been chronically ill and dealing with medical maltreatment for a long time, but my visit with him genuinely broke me and my hope. I saw him in December 2021 and haven’t looked for a GI until now, Jan 2023, because of how he treated me. I hope he was just having a bad day but I still didn’t deserve that.

Complete lack of respect for patients and their appointment times. I had arrived early to my appointment and he managed to show up 40 minutes late. Disregarded ALL my questions and concerns. Even, completely cutting me off from speaking multiple times. I had been in severe pain for months and he had kept asking me if it was because of a period. IF I SAID NO THE FIRST TIME, IT'S A NO FOR THE NEXT FIVE TIMES YOU ASK. Kept asking me personal questions about my studies and profession; it was unnecessary and none of his business, to be frank. He was entirely ill-mannered, sexist, disrespectful and unprofessional in such small amount of time (he had been rushing the appointment time by ignoring my concerns and asking short and unnecessary questions.) To top it all off, he answered a call in the middle of my sentence. That's what ended that horrible experience. Please, save yourself the time and headache from seeing this "doctor". The worst gastroenterologist I've ever seen. I'm not entirely sure how he's in practice. I was misdiagnosed which cause me to be in pain for months. Begged him to be retested but he refused. Found a new gasto and was scheduled for surgery a few weeks later. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

No respect for scheduled appointments, the staff said he always strides in whenever he damn well pleases. Treated my husband with absolutely no concern for anything other than cost of medication. No questions answered for us, no bedside manner to speak of and pushed Humira on us with no consultation. Clearly he is getting money for signing patients up with Humira, he did not care about us at all. Never coming back! I saw Dr Obanor at his part time job at the Med stat urgent care clinic. On a Friday afternoon he listened to my complaint sent me for an x-ray, Fasting Blood work Saturday. And I went back on Sunday as agreed to review the test results. Where Dr Obanor looked at the blood work briefly explained what he saw and informed me I needed to go to the emergency room now. He called ahead, gave me copies of my test results. At the emergency room they expected me we waited less then 15 min.

Absolutely adore this man!!! Having ulcerative Colitis is not fun, especially for a female. He saved my life and was extremely gentle with me. He is stern & loving always asking about my family. I've never met a doctor that cares so deeply for his patients:) amazing man with an amazing smile!!!
