Anesthesiologists diagnose and treat acute, long-standing and cancer pain problems; diagnose and treat patients with critical illnesses or severe injuries; direct resuscitation in the care of patients with cardiac or respiratory emergencies, including the need for artificial ventilation; and supervise post-anesthesia recovery.

Would not have him treat my dog!!! Had cataract eye surgery yesterday at Gailey Eye noCenter in Decatur. The entire event was complete torture as I felt the entire procedure and was pretty much awake during the entire procedure. I had my other eye done 1 month ago with a different Anesthesiologist and was give 4 mg of medication. That procedure was great in that I did not feel anything .The post op nurse informed me that this provider only gave me 2 mg. Why?? I'm not sure. Then the eye surgeon, Dr. GREGORY HALPERIN, kept proceeding with the procedure even as I was fighting him due to the pain and torture. He was in a rush and apparently didn't care that I was suffering. The nursing staff was in a rush the entire time. They kept saying he was waiting to go. I have been in severe pain all night. Went for a post op check this am and I have a scratch on my eye from yesterday. Would not recommend either doctor. They both need to not be practicing medicine as both are incompetent!
