Dr.Mathews did major reconstructive surgery on my bladder over 20 years ago in Syracuse, NY. As an adult I realize how lucky I was to have such an incredible doctor operate on me.
As a 15yo with IC almost 20 years ago, Dr. Mathews provided me with a quality of life I would have never had without him. Despite the complex bladder surgeries and chronic disease-related trauma, Dr. Mathews was a bright spot and a saving grace. Not only is he a brilliant urologist, he's also one of the best, most caring humans I've met. I will forever be grateful I was fortunate enough to have him as my pediatric urologist at Hopkins. Dr. Mathews treated me at Hopkins when I was a teenager. He helped me understand a then uncommon chronic illness and improved my quality of life. I owe him all of my gratitude & am a functional, successful adult in part because of him. Anyone would be lucky to be seen by him.

Dr. Mathews just did my son's hernia repair. He's very thorough and answered questions. He's also straight forward which is a quality I like in a doctor. I definitely recommend!
We seen Dr. Matthews when he was at Johns Hopkins. He is the most amazing, genuine, knowledgeable, caring, helpful and wonderful Dr. I truly can not say enough about this man. We miss him tons and anyone would be blessed to have him has there Dr.
Dr. Mathews is the best Urologist in the country! He helped my son through a major disaster with his crushed urethra tube. He is truly amazing and my wife and I will always be indebted to Dr. Mathews. We love him! You want the best and a 10 star rating with your kid, he is your Doctor!
