Dr. Eugene Scott Mackie

I am disappointed to report that the hearing aid specialist that worked with me last year is no longer employed at this clinic. I had been pleased to find a Starkey hearing aid technician close to my residence. Marco at the Mackie Clinic was very knowledgeable about the product and educated me thoroughly. My previous provider had only taught me the basics, however Marco went above and beyond in instructing me about how to adjust my hearing aids. His presence will be missed by many. Dr. Mackie is very confident about his ability to cure his patients. He uses a newer, less publicized method of curing ear, nose, throat, and lung problems by using hormone supplements. He claimed that he could improve my health plus repair the ear drum on my heart ear. I had high hopes that my health might improve under his care. I am a winter Texan. I met with both my ENT and primary doctors once I returned home. My ENT urged me to have reservations about Dr Mackie performing surgery on my only hearing ear. Mackie had proclaimed that he would be able to repair my ear drum even when every other doctor had told me surgery would not solve my issues. He also believed that hormone therapy would eradicate my nonstop sinus/ear infections. My primary doctor was very concerned that these hormones would cause breast cancer. I had an unusual reading of a mammogram just about this time and discontinued taking hormones. The above reasons made me very hesitant to return to The Mackie Clinic when I returned to Texas in January of 2023. For this reason I cannot recommend it to anyone.

I loved loved loved this doctor and his staff. After I went in with what was an enormous bilateral ear infection, I was treated immediately and he started me on medication and shots. Best service I've ever gotten compared to other doctor offices I've been to. Thank you SO much Dr Mackie and Amazing Staff

I am desperate. Dr. Eugene Mackie checked my hearing and recommended hearing aids and referred me to his son, J.P. in the same office. J.P. helped me pick out the style that was best suited to me. Once they arrived and I picked them up he assured me that he would be there for me all the way and if I had any problem to come back. Each time I wore them I would have an earache afterward so I went back to J.P. and he said it was not earaches but TMJ. i went home and continued trying to use them and returned again, when I was told by J.P. that my ear openings were too small and if I continued to have problems he might have to send them back for some adjustment. Then came the pandamic and I was self quarantined because of my age (82) and heart condition. I discovered while I was confined to home that I could not hear my TV with the hearing aids on, but could hear it turned up loud without them. I had to add closed captions to enjoy a movie. Been wait for over an hour. Why do drs overbook? Our time is valuable too. Only reason I see for overbooking is money. If you set an appointment, see us at that time. Otherwise schedule us for the actual time you will see us. Waited 2 hours and dr saw us for less than 5 minutes and paid $44 for visit and drops. Will be going somewhere else. Went to see JP about my ears, he did an awesome job, I would recomend him to anyone

I have been seeing Dr. Mackie for over 20 years, he taken care of my allergies and my sinus infections plus other things, he is very good at what he does, Dr. Mackie thank you for taking care of me and thank you for being a good friend, keep up your good work, we need more doctors like you...

Dr.Mackie is very sincere, very caring and effective! His recommendations with my Sleep Apnea have been “Right-On-Target!” I would Confidently Recommend him to anyone! Dan Savedra

Dr. E. Mackie is so professional and kind. I took my 4 year old daughter in who had constant nose bleeds and left his office with directions on how to control and decrease the nose bleeds as well as a secondary option in case they didn't stop. Turned out we haven't had to go back! Wonderful ENT specialist!

Worst ever. He spent 3 minutes with me. One flashlight up my nose, one in my throat. Was there forever. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Gave me an RX for the same antibiotic I had just finished given to me by my family doctor for sinusitis, laryngitis and another thing. I'll never return there. He ordered a couple of tests that needed insurance authorization first. His staff is horrible at directing you to wherever you need to go in that office. Terrible.

Don't waste your time. I was able to set up an appointment for my son very easily. Our appointment was for 10:05 didn't get seen until 12:30. Dr. Mackey spent less than 5 minutes with us. They didn't even let me tell them all of the issues before they decided on a treatment. I found his stuff to be nice, not kind by any means but not rude. He is just a waste of time. I had a very good first time call with Karina... I got my first appointment within minutes of my call.... Let's see how my first visit goes... I did notice that there's some bad reviews about people complaining about the waiting time and the employees... I think we all just need to realize that there is a waiting time at every doctor's office and that not everybody's going to please everybody everyone's perogative is you either go to this doctor or you choose another doctor... Yes this is my first time of me seeing this doctor but it's the same thing at every doctor's office you don't like the staff you're waiting too long and you get tired of it it's the same thing everywhere that's why I'm saying what I'm saying... Overall very caring Dr and has very professional great nurses. His PA is also very good too. Sometimes we have to wait for good things. His office isn’t crowded because he’s bad.

Dr Mackie is extremely knowledgeable. He explains in detail your condition and takes time to answer your questions. I had a procedure done which required a follow up visit a couple of days later. The appointment fell on a holiday. Not a problem. Dr. Mackie opened his office to see me on that holiday and took great care of me. I will say that his office staff is not the best. Great experience!! I don't know why people are complaining about the staff. Staff is great!!! Very courteous and helpful. The WAIT TIME is NOT their fault, they are not in control of how many patients the doctor wants to take in and how long the consultations take. Dr. does not explain recovery process for sinuplasty surgery. When you make an appointment you wait in the waiting room for 2 plus hours and office staff says nothing. If you don't have 2 hours to wait on him every time you have an appointment I would find anotherDr.

Horrible experience with the staff. Don't know how to explain or give correct information. A receptionist was really rude. No complaints for Dr. Mackie, but I do feel sorry for him loosing clients.
