I have been taking my children to Dr Felipe Avila for the past 17 years - he and his staff have always provided the best care for them - and I’m so happy I choose his clinic when I first became a mom and never needed to go anywhere else.

I have been taking my kids here for years now and have only seen Dr. Avila about 3 times. Recently we all got Covid-19 and my wife and I received the FDA approved Pfizer’s (Paxlovid) medication for the treatment of mild-to-moderate coronavirus used for adults and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older. Well as a concerned parent I took my 15 year old to get the same treatment to fight this virus as we did, and I was very disappointed to here that they will only prescribe him BROMFED DM a cough syrup to fight the Covid-19 virus. I asked them to please prescribe my son the same medication that we received from our Doctor. I know the Doctor that saw my son could have easily prescribe the right medication but chose not to! Unbelievable this is the reason why I will never go back. I have been taking my kids here for years now and have only seen Dr. Avila about 3 times. The night shift doctor is the Only doctor I trust with my children’s health. I was living in San Antonio and my son kept getting ear aches they were pushing me to get tubes in his ears. Went to visit the Weslaco clinic when I was In town. when I visiting the doctor checked his blood work and found he was allergic to milk. Once I took milk out of his diet the ear aches stopped and his lymph nodes finally went back to normal!! Thank you for being open late most clinics are not open!! I was just there today and my daughter asked if they had lollipops and she declined and said only stickers and then I see another kid ask and the same and then comes out another patient and they give them lollipops. I like the staff, Though if i want to see Dr Avila i HAVE to set an appointment n make sure to request him, otger than that chances are you wont get him. I usually get Mrs. Salinas during the evening shift...she is awesome!! My kids know her already and she is kind and patient. The rooms could be a little cleaner at times ig. The ladies up front in reception are polite. Great staff, friendly, and never has attitude

Hes hardly attending patients himself. Hes overloaded with patients. Doctors in training just dont cut out for the level of expexted experience from the actual doctor. We always ask for the doctor and not one of his associates. Medications are always incomplete. Cleanliness is not always there. Nurses seem inexperienced or are from our experience.
