Gary Michael Reeves

I met with Dr. Reeves at the Kaiser Permanente facility on Capital Hill, Seattle on 3/22/22 to discuss the need for a breast biopsy. His demeanor was insensitive and arrogant. He referred to my breast as “the thing” during our discussion. I don’t understand how KP can employ someone like this when the situation can be stressful enough without adding an insensitive provider.

He missed that I was developing arthritis in my right hip in 2015. Made snarky comments on the X-rays. Contradicted all past injuries, including ones confirmed by other doctors outside of Kaiser/Group Health. Since the growing pain and discomfort was “all in my head,” I took a physically active job three years later. I actually do have arthritis in my right hip. My right leg became dysfunctional. X-rays showed arthritis and bursitis. I had to go to physical therapy. They told me they are trying to prevent a premature hip replacement. I am looking into getting a personal trainer to try to save the limb and its joints as long as I can. My right leg hurts all the time. The hip joint pops. I wish I’d had a heads up. I looked back at my records today, and felt compelled to warn others when I realized I had this person’s name. Do not see this person if you have a hypermobility condition. Physical therapy isn’t fun. An actual medical problem won’t vanish from “positive thinking.” I may speak with my current team to re-X-ray the rest of the right leg. I don’t want any more nasty surprises. Be careful out there, folks. #ehlers-danlos #syndrome
