Dr. Robert R Francis

We did visit with Dr. Francis back in 1989 when my son was born in Group Health medical Center in Redmond. He examined my son's eyes and his diagnosis was a normal birth trauma with no worries. That was the best news we could get and would never forget the comfort he gave the whole family.

The staff was efficient and friendly. Dr. Francis explained my options for treatment clearly and honestly.

Excellent care and I will return.

My very complex cataract surgery was handled caringly & expertly by Dr. Francis and the staff at Proliance Retina in Bellevue.

I was very impressed with his knowledge ??!!! I live in a remote isolated village on the western coast of Alaska. I was sent from a doctor in Anchorage to a specialist in Washington. His diagnosis was right on the money. I was very comfortable with his expertise. They were able to work my surgery in before I went back to Alaska.

Easy, clear and informative annual checkup. I’ve had numerous vision problems, but I am not so concerned now that I’m seeing Dr. Francis for my vision care.

Totally pleased in every way. Professional, thorough, patient and explained everything clearly, concisely. Had surgery 2011 when not one specialist in AZ would touch the problem, I felt as if Dr. Francis saved my sight. Someone referred to him as 'old school' and I call that a major plus. Highly recommended.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Dr. Francis was terrific. He answered all my questions and explained what was going on with my eyes. He gave me good news of about my eyes’ condition and what I will be able to expect for the future. I was very impressed. I look forward to seeing him when my eyes need fixing!

Dr. Francis was highly recommended to me regarding his expertise in retina surgery. His exam, recommendations regarding my retina wrinkle and cataract and explanation of surgery to correct both issues was clear and thorough. I have scheduled the recommended surgery to correct the problem.

He wa highly responsive, some in lay term, was quite open to myriad questions. Ti.e used effectively and efficiently, post-op has been equally good.

Dr Francis took the time to explain so we could understand what was wrong and what the treatment option was. He clearly answered all our questions.

My husband and I have seen Dr Francis for many issues with our eyes. We trust his ability to take care of us. He has a wonderful bedside manner and we would recommend him to everyone. After my procedure yesterday I have had no side effects at all.

Dr Francis is amazing...I went to the Proliance Bellevue location, I was nervous about an advanced cataract and the upcoming surgery. Dr. Francis was very through with my exam. Incredible!!! Dr. Francis was extraordinary in how he took extensive care to help find a solution to my vision problem. He was a patient and attentive listener. I had a problem that I thought was related a previous surgery. After being reviewed by other eye specialists who could provide no answers for my affliction, Dr. Francis was able to review my condition and order the proper tests to find the answers. My issue has been affecting me for over a year. It was so calming to finally have a diagnosis from a trusted professional. I highly recommend Dr. Francis.

I have been waiting to write this review. My first cataract surgery was December 5th 2019 and second on December 26th at Proliance bellevue. The staff was awesome and made me very comfortable during my surgeries. The choices made on my intraocular lens prescriptions by Dr Francis were absolutely spot on perfect and the surgeries were done flawlessly. At this time I can see distance at 20/15 with my right eye and read small print perfectly with my left eye. I have no need for any corrective lenses and do not have any floaters. What a blessing it is to wake up in the morning and see without glasses. Everything is so wonderfully bright, colorful and clear now. Magical. Thank you Dr Francis for giving me my sight back! A year ago, I had very little vision left. With cataracts, vitreous detachments, and prior retina surgery, I was only able to see a few inches without glasses. Initially I needed cataract surgery but because of my retinal issues (detachments, lattice degeneration, and prior laser treatment) I was a high risk patient. I searched the internet for retinal surgeons who specialized in cataracts, which brought me to Dr. Francis. After a thorough examination, he suggested that in addition to the lens replacements I might consider an additional procedure (vitrectomy) which would reduce my chance of future detachments and clear the large brown hazy patches that impeded my vision. After a 2nd opinion to confirm this was appropriate and safe, I had the surgery. It has been a year since the surgery and I am thrilled! My vision is almost 20/20 now, even in the eye with a prior detachment that, before the surgery, could only be corrected to 20/50 vision. I no longer wear glasses or contact lens, my eyes no longer feel strained or uncomfortable, and I've never had better vision. He is a calm, skilled surgeon who explained things carefully and with as much detail as I needed. He never rushed me and was very respectful and caring. Every morning when I open my eyes, I am thankful that I found Dr. Francis and grateful for what he was able to do to save my sight. A year ago, I had very little vision left. Dr. Francis took care of both of my eyes' floaters and cataracts. Great communications and manners.

Extremely skilled surgeon with great bedside manner. He suggested a more extensive procedure than I originally anticipated, which alarmed me at first. But after seeking a 2nd opinion I decided it would be the best option. A year after surgery, I am seeing clearly, I no longer have floaters obstructing my central vision. 30 years ago a detached retina left me with 20/50 vision corrected; that eye now has 20/25 vision and the other eye has 20/20 uncorrected. Dr. Francis and his team saved my vision a few years back from a horrible retinal detachment. I am very happy with his work and he is a very reassuring person who will take away your fears of most any eye issue and will tell you calmly anything that needs to be done. He was very calm in how he told me that he would take care of it and when i was close to tears, he comforted me telling me with a almost happy voice that the chances were in the 90's on up of success. They worked quickly and efficiently and got me up and running within a few days. I fully recommend him for diagnosis of your eyes. With the Lords blessing it went even better then anyone would have thought and my retinas are as strong as ever. Thank you Dr. Francis I am happy to have you as my doctor.
