dr schmitz is GREAT... easy to get an appt, he spends time listening, his staff is GREAT, u make an 9am appt, n u are in the room with margie at 9am... 1st class service...

Attempted to obtain an appointment with Dr. George M Schmitz, who I was told accepts my insurance however 1) has a yearly wait and 2) I would need to join for $1500 MDVIP in order to have a consult with him. Why would I pay $1500 and wait a year to see a doctor? They transferred me about 4 times and at the end of the day, they all appeared to have no idea what was actually going on except for the fact if I wanted an appointment I could pay $1500 to join whatever scam MDVIP is. Sounded sketchy/shady and really did not make me desire going to this doctor. I am also unsure why he is listed as taking medicaid if he is requesting $1500 up front. Sounds like a scam to me. Always an excellent experience. I don't always follow up with testing over the year. The MDVIP office calls,emails, etc. to get it done.

Dr. Schmitz and his whole staff have been a wonderful gift to our family.

I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Schmitz’s care and follow-up care. As an example, after experiencing vertigo over the weekend I called Dr. Schmitz on Monday to let him know. He told me that vertigo could be a sign of a potential stroke, and urged me to go to the emergency room right away. A short while later we received a call at home from Dr. Schmitz, saying that he had just talked to the ER, was informed that we weren’t there yet, and he wanted to know why. And when my wife came down with Lyme disease and then Babesiosis at the same time, we felt that Dr. Schmitz was way out in front in terms of treatment, directing certain tests at the ER, and generally following up quite often on my wife’s progress. That experience alone has earned him lifelong loyalty from us, even though we live less than half of he year near his location. I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Schmitz’s care and follow-up care. Dr. Schmitz has been my doctor for over 10 years and was my husband’s doctor for a number of years. He has seen me through 2 bouts of pneumonia and assorted medical ailments, as well as the loss of my husband due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. Dr. Schmitz is thorough, professional and compassionate without being an alarmist. He interacts with a number of specialists I see and is diligent about making sure I do not forego any important tests or procedures. He is quick in returning calls and reporting test results. Addressing any concerns I might have is done in an unrushed, caring and thoughtful manner. His staff is cordial, knowledgeable and accommodating. I have to give special props to his nurse, Margie, who is kind, caring and professional. I highly recommend this practice. The most thorough and thoughtful physician. Very easy to talk with and caring.

Dr. Schmitz and his nurse spend a lot of time asking questions, reviewing past history and administering tests. He and his staff provide timely follow-ups and routinely review any tests that should be taken. He and his nurse have a wonderful bedside manner and are able to explain clearly what each test is for.
