Very knowledgeable of New Therapies concerning Prostate Cancer. New: 3/28/2023 I saw Dr. Cochran on 2/27/2023, had an very good visit. Not once did I learn of Retiring. He has been an Honest and Knowledgeable Urologist. I'm sadden to learn of this pending retirement. Yet, very happy to have had the short time with a Doctor that is not afraid to be totally honest with his patients. Before you leave, could you refer another Open and Honest Urologist? While I have had the opportunity to work with two of the best Urologist in the country, in my humble opinion, one of them really stood out and that is Dr. Cochran. While many Urologist listen to your concerns, some don’t actually hear what you’re saying and must move on to the next patient. Five stars does not do Dr. Cochran justice as he goes above and beyond your highest expectations. He took the time to explain all my options as it pertains to prostate cancer. He explained both the pros and cons of each procedure then gave me the time necessary to make a decision. I chose the HIFU, (high-intensity focus ultrasound) procedure as it fits best with my lifestyle. During and after the procedure, I never felt like there was a rush to see the next patient but rather that this was a journey that both of us were on. Although there were minor issues after the procedure, Dr. Cochran was there to identify and resolve the issue quickly providing me with comfort that I wasn’t alone. His staff and partners did an excellent job, ensuring my health and safety was always their number one priority. Although it will be a couple of months before I know if I’m cancer-free, I am confident and pray that I am and highly recommend Dr. James Cochran.

I have not seen Dr. Cochran since a procedure I had 30+ years ago. What a wonderful person he is and besides being compassionate, he is clearly vastly experienced and master of his trade. I left there feeling so special until I just now read the out of the park feelings from MANY as I have. This is even more impressive--he treats all of us with compassion, respect and with so much experience--unparalleled treatment. Blessings to you Dr. Cochran!

Difficult to navigate the maze of streets around the hospital, but found building 3 eventually. Dr Cochran was very helpful and caring. Glad that I made the trip from Tulsa to find out about his HIFU treatment for prostate cancer.

Dr.Cochran is the best at his practice great listener then explains so the common person can understand not through medical terms at you. Have been seeing him over 15 years I have referred my family and friends very happy with him. Thank you Dr. Cochran for all you have done for me.

Dr. Cochran is the GOAT when it comes to a urologist! My experience from the very first time I met him on September 8, 2020 has been nothing but many times over what I could’ve hoped for. I can’t say enough good things about him. He is totally awesome and did a great job on my HIFU. I just had my six week check up post procedure this afternoon and he told me I was doing great. Dr Cochran is a wonderful Doctor and a great guy. I give the Highest recommendation for the Doctor and his practice.

Dr. Cochran has been my urologist for a long time. He is the most accommodating, caring and knowledgeable Dr. I have known. I never have difficulties obtaining an appointment, emergency care, testing etc. Would not trade him for another.

Personal, kind attention in caring for my problem

Dr. Cochran is OUTSTANDING. He listens and is dedicated to solving my health issues. Recent Laser PVP surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Cochran. He returns my phone calls.

I have been seeing Dr. Cochran since '86. He always time to answer any questions you have and has a great sense of humor. Great treatment plan for my prostate cancer 15 years ago.

I had some follow-up questions after my consult with Dr. Cochran, as he wanted to prescribe a new med and i wanted a few days to talk to my primary care doc and decide whether i wanted to start the new med (as i take a number of meds, some with potential to interact badly with the new one). So when i reached out to Dr Cochran a couple days later with a question (via the web portal), he never responded. After giving it a couple days in case they were super busy, i also left a message with his assistant asking her or the doc to call me back. They both completely ghosted me. Its been over a week now and neither have responded in any form. I guess they just couldnt be bothered. Inexcusable. On top of this, their web portal is a hot mess and their support staff always sound very unhappy and stressed out on the phone. (But good luck trying to find a good urologist in this area of Dallas that isnt a part of Urology Clinics of North Texas). I was at the telephone from 10:29 AM until 12:50 pm. I never got a satisfactory answer why Dr. Cochran was unavailable. I went through VOICE MAIL HELL to no avail. Thr clinic was at is most efficient collecting the co-pay.

Dr Cochran examined me for bladder cancer and prostate cancer. To say I was anxious would be an understatement; however, all is well. WHEW! Dr Cochran is a thorough and forthright doctor as well as kind. His staff was knowledgeable and understanding. Cheers to him and his team.

Dr. Cochran is surrounded my loyal and supportive staff, especially Anthony. Dr. Cochran is interested in my well being and always ends our appointment with, "If you need me, call me." For three (3) decades, I have done just that.

On time, folk that answer the phone are pleasant and listen carefully. Dr. Cochran presents a current and compassionate view of my health at every appointment. His positive approach to improving my well-being is refreshing. His last words are ,"if you need me, call me" and I do just that..

He examined me before I had a prostate biopsy. I asked him after a very uncomfortable prostate exam if he thought I had prostate cancer. He replied, I think you have prostate cancer . I marched down to Parkland and got a super uncomfortable prostate biopsy which revealed that I had a Gleason 8. I peed blood for a week. I watched them set it up. I saw only one needle but it was long and thick and it smarts when they stick the prostate with it. Parkland didn't give me a ball, I should have brought my own. Maybe a bone to chew on, when that dreaded spring pops back , you know the hammer will fall! Ouch! At the time, Parkland recommend, you're 50, in good shape, the cancer is spreading, have it removed. After 65, it will be more difficult if you don't. I thought Dr. Cochron was an honest doctor and I admired his candor, but I thought he was a big bucks doctor. I didn't really like his attitude that much, but I felt like he sized me up and and didn't believe that I would be a prosperous urological transaction, but he gave me important information that I needed. I'm sure he'll go the distance with any man who is experiencing prostate issues, those who can afford his services. Don't worry about it. In a way, since he is pretty old, he's a throw back from a day when men doctors were comedians and entertainers, like the doctor I saw in the late 1960's, when I had blood test, he said, let me get my pocket knife out for your blood test, oops, let me wipe the rust off the blade. Here we go, let have your fingers! MA MA!!!!!

Dr Cochrane is terrific! Welcoming, friendly, affable, and (most importantly) attentive to his patients and their issues and needs. Staff here is awesome, especially Anthony. Dr, Cochran is a straight shooter, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. I especially like that he didn't push for surgery before it was needed.

I am sure they handle most things well, but not my issue. It's been over 2 months of trying to get testosterone pellets done and someone there keeps dropping the ball. Dr Cochran's assistant was told multiple times that I wanted the compound pellets and not expensive testopell, and she still ordered testopell for one appointment that had to be rescheduled for a week because of that mistake, and then I show up to the new appointment and the order was never put in. Dr Cochran is a caring, straight talking, no bs kind of Urologist everyone should have. His HIFU prostate cancer procedure on me last year was a game changer in my life and I am forever greatful for his leading edge knowledge.
