Very caring! He helped me battle Cancer in 2003-2004! Sadly my Cancer is back and I wanted him on my warrior team again but he has relocated ?? Georgia misses you Dr. McGrath!!!

I look forward to the return. He's very effective and knowledgeable in his profession. I am very happy with him.

I went to Dr. McGrath for a second opinion... he ordered some blood work and a CT scan. After the results came on he completely ignored me... I sent messages to him and got no answer. I believe he was/is the type of doctor that if you have/want to have any input into your treatment... he's not your doctor... it's his way (god complex) or the highway. Wonderful and compassionate physician. We made the right decision

My visits are always very good and informative. Dr. McGrath is treating my son now and is a very kind and caring Doctor. He also treated my boyfriend and he was very pleased with the care he received. He is always interested in how well my son is doing on his chemotherapy regimen and he ask us questions about how well he is coping. His staff is always very friendly as well

We met Dr. James McGrath a few years ago when my Dad became ill. Dr. McGrath was always kind , compassionate and willing to answer all the questions we had about our Dad. I highly recommend him . He truly cares about his patients and their families .

awful experience

Dr. McGrath is the best doctor. From his gentle bedside manner, to the way he took time to explain everything in ways we could understand. It’s so hard to find respectful and compassionate doctors who actually take time with their patients. During such a challenging time of our lives, Dr. McGrath was a breath of fresh air.

I must state that I take issue with Dr. McGrath's following of protocol, or lack thereof, in treating my ITP. At no time in the ~18 months that I was a patient of his was an ultrasound ordered to check my spleen which, in most circles, is one of the first things you do to see if there's an internal issue (enlarged spleen usually indicates infections or other blood issues). Also, I was not given an IVIG treatment which is usual protocol for people who don't respond well to initial treatments. Furthermore, no other blood work was ordered to check if I had any infectious diseases (such as Hep C or HIV/AIDS - which I was 99.99% I did not have, but still it's protocol) that would help explain or eliminate issues contributing to my condition. In the past couple of weeks his temporary successor has not only ordered standard tests, which follow protocol, to check for/rule out issues, but has also been far more aggressive in searching. It says Belmont but his location is Gastonia. I was "transferred" to this doctor because the doctor my grandmother was seeing left the practice. We loved our previous doctor but Dr. Mcgrath was obnoxious and without compassion. Where as in the past the doctor would spend time with us discussing the cancer and the treatment. But not this man. It appeared to all of us that he was annoyed that he had to see us. He was curt and rushed. He rudely answered questions we asked and made it sound like he was doing us a favor. My grandmother was in tears when he left the room. Even the nurse apologized to us for his obnoxious and rude behavior and tried to be helpful. I suggest never seeing this man if you have a choice. Go anywhere else. We transferred our care out of the practice and are content with the new practice across the street.

My cat is better cared for than I was with this man. Couldn't care if I lived or died. Just an all around horrible doctor.

Dr McGrath made me feel that I will beat this cancer. Almost 2 years have passed and I feel better than I have in 15 years. I miss my visits with him, I wish him the best but I wish he were still here.

Did not feel any compassion. Felt like a chore or a number.
