I would leave less than 0 stars if I could. My 75 year old husband broke his right hip (neck of femur) February 14, 2020, at our winter home. Dr. Ray pinned the hip instead of replacing it. X-ray indicated no healing at 6 weeks. Nothing for pain and told my husband he shouldn't be having pain. Nothing done until 11 weeks when CT showed ball of affected hip was necrotic. Then partial hip replacement by Dr. Ray on May 2nd. Returned to South Dakota after 7 weeks post op on June 20th. Significant pain in affected thigh 2 months post op. Saw another orthopedic surgeon. Hip device was loose. Total hip replacement surgery revealed too small of device inserted by Dr. Ray and the tendon necessary to loosen to insert device was not reattached by Dr. Ray. Eight months since the fall is October 14, 2020, and we hope my husband will finally be able to walk without a walker.

All I am able to say is Don't ... Looking for retirement ... No follow through Cut me and let me suffer a journey of the Damned...

Have seen several orthopedic doctors in Naples over the last several years and by far Dr Ray is the most caring doctor around. He is up to date on all the latest treatments and listened to all my complaints. He gave me PRP and stem cells which helped my knee arthritis. i am now completely pain free. Thank you thank you Dr. Ray. I will get more stem cells when I return in the fall, helped my knee feel so good.

Dr. Ray took a look at my knee a few weeks ago and I have to tell you that I was blown away at how easy he communicated the problems with my knee so that I could understand easily. Set up a plan for recovery as well. Dr Ray and his staff were great at all areas from a very welcoming checkin all the way through my appointment. If you have any joint isssues I could not think of a better Ortho to go to. Thank you!!!

Ongoing treatment for knee pain. Engaging personality, efficient and effective treatment!

I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone that I care for because he has no bed side manner, treated me like a drug seeker which led to my bone infection coming back since he didn't want to listen to me, and get to the bottom of it. Dr.Ray even had the audacity to take my pain medication away from me while I was still recovering in-patient at the hospital after having titanium rods/pins and an active infection removed. Luckily another doctor heard about his child like behaviors and put me back on the pain medication so I didn't have to suffer due to his lapse of judgement. if you read these Dr.Ray just know as a fellow brother, I forgive you but if I didn't get a 2nd opinion the infection would have spread to other parts of my body and possibly killed me. stop assuming you can read people when you were very out of pocket and wrong about me!

I've had two surgeries with Dr. Ray this year (2019). He is a great doctor and has an outstanding staff. It was a blessing he was on call when I had my accident. I highly recommend this physician.

I went to see Dr. Ray and his WONDERFUL staff after injuring my ankle. The front staff was such a pleasure and was very helpful and always joyful. Once in the back the nurse provided EXTRAORDINARY care. Dr. Ray is always a pleasure to see and gives the best care to his patients. Thank you Dr. Ray and your excellent team for making my visits so comfortable and easy.

Dr. Ray and staff our truly outstanding!! I came in to the office with knee pain and I am just amazed with how he was able to explain to me what was wrong. I was able to understand everything!!! The staff is SO KIND! They were helpful and made it such a positive environment. This is a GREAT office!!

Dr. Ray is one of the best doctors that I have ever met. I broke my wrist playing pickleball, I was in extreme pain until I had my consultation with him. His office staff was lovely and took care of all my needs. Dr. Ray listened to all my complaints and explained to me the procedure that I was to have done. He did my surgery and within 2 weeks I had full range of motion. I'm so glad that I met Dr.Ray and was lucky enough to have surgery by him.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have never had a worse dr appointment than with Dr Ray. I have a rare disease diagnosed by an expert geneticist from Mayo. He dismissed my diagnosis because it’s “too rare”. I went in for a possible torn labrum and left with no mri and was told I’ll be fine. If I was fine I wouldn’t have dealt with it for a month before seeing him. I should have listened and seen a specialist. He is not advanced in technology and doesn’t keep up on current ortho studies.

Dr. Ray is a wonderful doctor, very professional and caring. His office staff is courteous. Dr. Ray did fixed my hip and saved my life. I was walking the same day of surgery and back to playing golf in 3 weeks. Everyone I talk to loves Dr. Ray. His practice is very busy, I have seen his physician assistant who is very knowledable and easy to talk to and explained my medical condition in detail. I see Dr. Ray for all my ortho needs and will never go anywhere else in Naples. Thank you Dr. Ray!!

This was the worst experience for me in my entire lifetime! I have had 3 surgeries in the past year, and still am in pain, and my leg will not straighten or bend all the way. I am literally terrified of him! They provide little to any pain medicine, so my suffering was unsustainable! His wife, the office nurse, was awful! He just recently moved to Naples, and I was rushed to hospital with no option to choose a Dr. Once you choose an orthopedic surgeon in Naples, thats it. No other will see you

Dr. Ray is the BEST doctor. I have had a total knee replacement in 2008 as well as shoulder and knee repair in 2017. I highly recommend him. We travel a great distance to see him.

Superb orthopedic surgeon with excellent plastic surgery experience....,scaring minimal. He gets you back in the game in short order.

Dr. Ray is the Best! He is very kind and works hard and helps you understand why he does all the hard work to make you better! I would recommend him to Everyone!

Dr. James Ray has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have ever met. He performed surgery on my hip for a Labrum tear three days ago and I am up and walking around with minimal discomfort. The entire time he has explained everything in detail and answered every question I had. Additionally, his entire office staff is very kind and courteous.
