Dr. James Rodman Whatley

Dr. Whatley has operated on me 5 times (5 different problems) & he's been 100% outstanding every time. That's why I keep returning tp him for orthopedic care.

Poor Dr. Whatley-He is the only doctor at the clinic brave enough to allow reviews -he's probably great. I don't have anything bad to say about any of the doctors there and I understand that surgeons are often in surgery longer than expected or called to a surgery they didn't expect, so you might have to wait a while. But today what happened was not understandable. I had one of those mornings-my first wardrobe choice failed because of a missing button, I got the second pair of pants on and discovered the hem out in them and stapled that up! and got to the doctor's office without my insurance card. A woman behind the desk told me that I should just bring it the next time. Then another woman came out and asked me for it, and I told her I could call my other doctor and see if they could provide it-she gave me a fax # and I called and arranged to have it faxed over. After waiting another twenty minutes it became apparent that she was waiting to get the fax before she let me see the doctor. I knew my doctor was probably gone to lunch by then, so I asked her if that was true. She admitted that she was holding up my appointment until she got a call-and had the nerve to claim she was doing it for my benefit. I'm just doing what is best for you, she said. No, you are not acting in my behalf, I told her. I said I would have to come back, but frankly this is strike 3 and they are out. They consistently charged me $4 a visit more for physical therapy than medicare allowed and I had to get a little forceful in public about it before they refunded me the money. This review isn't specefic to Dr. Whatley but about the clinic as a whole. I have been there on two occasions. I am always 15 minutes early to any of my appointments (Former military habit). Each visit my appointment time was missed by 40 and 31 minutes respectively. They now have a sign up that they will start charging customers who miss their appointments $25.00. I have no problem with that policy but I do expect reciprocity. If they expect patients to be on time, they should be held accountable also. This is a problem at many health services. I will not patronize offices that can't keep appointments. You have to look but you can find those that do. I will never come back to this clinic.
