rude, no bed side manner, and staff has no urgency with returning calls even with dealing with a fast moving cancer.

Granted Dr. Givens doesn't have the best bedside manner and says exactly what he thinks or what results of test are, no sugar coating! Past all that I received EXCELLENT care with my kidney issue. He worked with a specialist at MU medical center to run test and determine the next steps in my medical process that ended up in a removal of one of my kidneys. I know if I ever had another issue would return to him in a heartbeat. This was my first visit. He was annoyed at my being there. Basically, I was wasting his time. He said my pain was not my kidneys and the xray from the ER showed really small stones. My pain mgt dr said it was both my kidneys and sciatica. Needless to say, I am not happy with him.

Doctor has a different way about him only reason one star is his bedside manner is not the best. However is very efficient and will address the issues promptly

I like him a lot. He may come off a little gruff but he gets right to the point, in a kind way though Don't be put off, he knows what he's doing and does it very well. I definitely recommend.

Best hospital/doctor experience ever. Absolutely everyone involved was great. I highly recommend Dr. Givens and staff.

I didn't appreciate being told "this isn't t Walmart" when I asked about what my procedure was going to cost me, as I don't have insurance coverage. Total bedside manner was rude and condescending.

I had surgery with Dr. Givens on Thursday the 29th of November. Before we had even made it home I was in so much pain my husband called his office around 1:30 to inform them that I was in a lot of pain but the pills didn't seem to be touching the pain. The nurse instructed him to give me 2 pain pills, which he did and still no relief. On Friday the 30th of November the surgical group called to check on me, I informed the nurse what exactly was going she informed me that some times pain pills don't work the same on everyone to get off the phone and call Dr.Givens office right away. It's still Friday the 30th of November it hasn't even been 24hrs after I have left the hospital I called Dr. Givens office and was informed his nurse was on lunch and she would give me a call back. Much to my surprise I did not receive a call back, once again let me remind you this is happening on a Friday which means they are going to be closed the next 2 days. On Monday the 3rd of December I called Dr. Givens office once again after a weekend in pain and lack of sleep to see if I could get any help and they hang up on me not push a button like drop the phone hung up on me. So I waited never received all call back. Call back at 3:45 and ask to speak to the manger of the office and inform her what exactly has been going on. So some how in my file they said they tried calling me back almost 30 mins later and left a voicemail but I never received one. But none the less on Monday the 3rd of December I finally get to talk to Dr. Givens nurse at 3:50 and inform her that I'm still in pain and she then told me they can't call pain pills in over the phone. She told me to take tylenol and the switch to ibuprofen, she would talk to Dr. Givens tomorrow the 4th of December and see if there is anything he would do. I'm so disappointed this has been the worst recovery I have ever had, i just wanted some relief so I could relax and sleep so my body could begin the healing process. I’ve been seeing Dr. Givens since 2010 when I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. We are winning the battle. I trust Dr. Givens completely. He is very straightforward and doesn’t beat around the bush, but still had a s nose of humor. His staff is excellent, especially Dawn and Ginger. I highly recommend Dr. Givens and his staff.
