Mr. John Lacari Nieters

I am not a patient of Dr. Neiders but my ex-wife is. After her last visit she informed me that Dr. Neiders advised her to have her ex-husband (me) take responsibility for my adult daughter with whom my ex-wife is having problems. Dr. Neiders has NO authority over me or my "responsibility" regarding my adult daughter including trying to exercise that authority indirectly through his patients, in this case, my ex-wife. I believe that to be a breach of professional judgement if not ethics. I'm considering filing a complaint against this doctor with the appropriate licensing and governing bodies here in the State of Indiana. His non-medical advice has caused considerable distress within my family as my ex-wife now expects me to implement his advice, which I did not request nor welcome.

Been going to him for over 20 years. He's very good. He does take time to listen to you and if you don't get your questions answered you can always call back and ask for the nurse and she will go over everything with you

Had him till he went out of network on my insurance. Great Doctor, and would go back to him if he came back in network on my insurance.

I can't speak to Dr Nieters, but his staff was not very easy to work with. I couldn't get a phone call back from them even after giving my SSN over the phone just to verify that I am an acceptable patient. I have never been required to give a SSN for an initial visit especially once I provided my insurance information, first/last name, and date of birth. Apparently this is their office's policy for new patients that you are required to provide your SSN. The staff made false claims that they attempted to call me and or my wife but I have the phone records to prove this isn't the case. They either didn't call and are lying or called the wrong number. I don't find this acceptable given this is the medical field and small mistakes have large consequences. Not a lot of options in the Columbus, IN area but I would make this the last on the list if you are looking for a primary care physician. The office closes at noon everyday. I call today at 8:05 am and only get a busy signal. How does one schedule an appt to see the Dr???

not a patient of his but I had him for a disability evaluation. He was extremely nice and immediately told me he was NOT there to make it so that I wouldnt get approved, but that he wanted to help in any way he could. You could tell he was sincere. Ive been evaluated by someone else in the past and that experience had me very nervous to come in. To top it all off, his staff and the nurses were all very nice too. No matter the outcome here, Im very pleased with him. Myself and my father, mother, and brother have been patients of Dr. Nieters for over 20 years. We’ve been pleased with his expertise and care... My father, who is 81 years old, has a complicated medical history and sees several other specialists at St. Francis in Greenwood. Recently, he decided, with our guidance, to attempt to transfer his medical records to the Columbus St. Francis primary care facility so all of his records, primary and specialists, would be in the same larger network... We were informed by Columbus Physicians Associates that if our father switched primary care providers, they would no longer accept myself, my mother, or my brother as patients... This puts the rest of us in a terribly compromised position. It reeks of a total lack of concern for patient care. And obviously we will no longer be using this office as our primary care provider... Over two decades of care and trust tossed in the waste bin. Please reconsider if you’re thinking of using this facility as your primary care source. He is one of the best Dr I have ever been to .He is one of the nicest and easy to talk to .He as always worked us in .been going to him for 22 years .

Dr Nieters has been my family doctor since 2001. He has helped me loose weight, stop smoking, and listened to my concerns. I am dreading the day he retires.

Dr Nieters is by far the best physician I’ve ever had! He always listens, he’s completely honest. He has sent me to specialist when needed not by their location ( Columbus) but where he knew I would receive the best care! Does not let anything fall through the cracks! I will never go anywhere else!!

My experience with Dr. Nieters has been very positive. I enjoy his professional care and feel he is always very complete in his attention to my health. I'm 72 with minor physical issues including blood pressure, blood sugar and joint pain. He has effectively addressed each of my problems.

I am almost 82 and over the years have been to many different doctors both in Indiana & Florida. He is the most knowledgeable & caring doctor my wife & I have ever been too. His nurses & staff have always been outstanding with us too. We feel blessed to have him as our doctor. We would highly recommend him.

Dr. Nieters is an excellent doctor. He’s very knowledgeable and takes time with patients. I would highly recommend him.

Is my family doctor for almost 17years his is wonderful dictor!!!!

Dr Nieters is just the nicest man! He is always smiling, always glad to see you. He actually listens to you, asks questions and never ever makes you feel like you're wasting his time.

Dr. Nieters is a great family physician!! Not only that but he has a wealth of knowledge about specialty care that always astounds me. It helps to give me overall care. He also takes time and listens to you, which is rare these days. He is excellent!!

Didn't seem like he cared about our family & was in a big hurry every visit. Misdiagnosed my spouse & he has a serious life threatening condition. Always tried to psycho analyze as a psychologist & not diagnose as a family doctor. Dismissed our family from his practice after being his patient for 5 years; with no warning, no medication refills, for no reason by certified mail.

Every time I visited I felt unimportant to this man. He showed me and my spouse very little attention nor compassion. He always just rushed us out the door and collected his money. Never had a correct diagnosis and seemed liked he guessed at everything. Tries to be a psych doctor instead of a family doctor. I have a life threatening condition and he dismissed me and my wife without any notice by certified mail with no prescription refills we needed. And his office staff are some of the rudest ,

Dr Nieters is very caring. At last a doctor that will listen.

Dr Nieters is one of the best Doctors I've ever been to and I've had several due to specific illnesses. I really which he were able to be my only Dr and could treat me for everything because he had the best bedside manner of all the Doctors. He doesn't rush you through your appointment. He sits back and listens to everything and genially cares. His staff, especially Debbie, are all great! I trust him 100% and my husband and I both feel that he is the best there is!

They do not put stuff in their file when they tell you that you need to go get a specialist so now I have nerve damage in my leg because he never put his stuff in his files so now he let me go

Barely spends any time with the patient which is typical of doctors these days. Refers you to other doctors constantly even when it's something minor he could treat. Is a good listener however. My main complaint is his front office staff. They're very rude- Savannah specifically. She's argumentative and does not belong in a position in which she has to communicate with patients. I would keep seeing dr Nieters if not for his front office. Nurses have always been great!
