Mr. John Steven Portwood

Last time I saw him he was almost 4 hours late for an x-ray that he had to do at Jackson Hospital. All he did was mess up my leg & he has never send the x-rays to my doctor. I went to him trusting him that he was a good doctor. He is NOT! Would never go to him again! Beware!

Dr. Portwood always seems bothered by his job. He is not a nice man or a good dr in my opinion!

Dr. Portwood was my surgeon for my shattered elbow . He did a great job.

Haven't even had a chance to see him, the person scheduling decided to delete my appointment or just never bothered to enter it and the next available is another month out after waiting a month for this one. They made no attempt to rectify the situation at all.

Dr Portwood did my knee replacements in 2007. He did the first one than the second. Best decision I’ve ever made. I’m now 82 and I walk 2 miles a day. I move easily without pain. Thank you Dr Portwood for helping me keep active.

I am pleased with Dr. Portwood knowledgement about hip replacement surgery. He was so professional before and after surgery. Thanks god and thank you very much Dr. Portwood you are amazing.

Dr. Portwood did both my right and left shoulder surgeries. He was very informative and up front on what to expect and length of rehab it would take to get back to normal. Thank you Dr. Portwood for a job well done.

Have been seeing him for more than 10 yrs. Had total knee replacement in both knees. Excellent care, explains everything, answers any questions I have always felt very comfortable with him taking care of me. Highly recommend him.

This man needs to retire already. Seems like he hates his life and his job!

The office staff arranged for my appointment that I made with Dr. Portwood with the other doctor who shares the suite with him , without even notifying me. Per the office supervisor,"the doctors do the same thing". Would not allow me to see Dr. Portwood for the appt. time I was scheduled for.Sorry to say,never did see the doctor but if his office personnel are this incompetent can't help wondering how the dr Is. i would recommend Dr. Portwood to anyone having the need for an orthopedic surgeon. I had tendinitis in my shoulder and I suffered for a long time before my general doctor referred me to Dr. Portwood. Immediately, he gave me a shot and I felt no pan for the first time in more than 2 years! I had to have a couple more over the next couple of years but I've been virtually pain free for many years now. He is kind and caring. He explained every part of the process. The only problem with the whole process is, I wish I'd gone to him sooner! i would recommend Dr. Portwood to anyone having the need for an orthopedic surgeon. My first experience with Dr. Portwood was in October as an office visit. On November 14, I had total shoulder replacement and all I can say is - - - HE IS AMAZING! My surgery was very successful and I am up and moving nicely with a good range of motion. Physical Therapy started December 3rd and will finish April 5th. Thank you, Dr. Portwood!!! Dr. John Portwood, is a very good doctor. He was very caring to my Ortho needs. I highly recommend him.

My 3rd surgery with Dr Portwood and each time he fixed the issue. His office is professional and friendly. He made me feel like a family member.

If anyone has carpol tunnel or just pain in the hands from repetative movement instead of surgery everyone is so quick to recieve stop and ask for the cortisone shot!! The down time is a couple days instead of weeks and it works!! I can finally braid my daughters hair without them falling asleep. Thanks dr.portwood u r very helpful and so nice keep up the great work!! Staff as well! Unbelievably rude and dismissive. I can't believe someone who calls himself a doctor would treat a patient with such disrespect. I wish there was a no star option. This man has no humanity. Dr. Portwood is the best in his field as a surgeon and then dr. Portwood aftercare what started the healing process is wonderful he has an excellent way of explaining detail which makes you feel much better about your choice my advice recommendation is to choose doctor dr. Portwood for all his expertise

Dr. Portwood was my surgeon when I had shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Dr. Portwood took the time to explain everything involved with the surgery from beginning to end. He was very professional and my surgery went very well. His staff was awesome to me, even when I had insurance issues with medicare, they were very patient while resolving them problem. Great Doctor with a great staff!

Secretaries are very rude. Appointments are set very far. By the time you get an appointment your injure body part may have healed wrong. Very discotious staff. Will no recommend this office to anyone.
